I live about 40 minutes from St. George Spirits Distillery. It is on the former Alameda Naval Air Station in an aircraft hanger. It was my grandfather’s last duty station after WW2 which how my father (and later me) ended up in California. They also produce a Japanese style single malt whisky called “The Baller” which I like more than their regular single malt.

You guys made me realise I'm a mooch :) I've seen a lot of your videos and in 3 of them you guys talk about Jameson Black Barrel. I’m new to the tribe, so limited in my knowledge learning a lot from you all; but got to say you guys are living the dream. I move to frequently too acquire a nice selection but my favorites are lagavulin, laphroaig, talisker, Ardbeg, and oban. I try to keep one of them around if I can find a deal. Have you ever reviewed BenRiach they have a nicely peated version I have been savoring before I head back to Japan for a while?

Won't lie. the Essential oil stuff has helped me soooo much. I grew up with severe eczema. Like sores on the face, body, dry skin, medicines being tried out in the 80's, like bad. Even as an adult I had issues. I have been mixing Lavender and Tea Tree oils (along with Peppermint for tingle, and Cedarwood and Patchouli for scent) with Vaseline ointment for several years now and it has been the best hting I have used....period. Better then steroid creams, Cortisone creams, and any of the prescribed crap. Am I one to say replace everything in your life with em? Heck no! BUT, I do say give em a try for things. Diffusing Clove, Orange, Eucalyptus, and Peppermint is a great way to help clear the sinuses!
I'm interested... have either of you had the opportunity to try Manx Spirit? It's a re-distilled blend of malt Scotches made on the Isle of Man, and it is clear and unmatured. It was previously known as Glen Kella, prior to legislation against calling it a whisky. If you've had it, I'm curious as to your thoughts.
Great thing about Glenrothes? There's a shitload of casks in the hands of independent bottlers. So you can get a 20yo Cask Strength Glenrothes for less than the 18 distillery bottling..

I disagree about the Glenrothes, and that’s okay. I think the 18 DOES deliver on the palate what it suggests on the nose. I get caramel and fruits. Lovely. The trouble is, if it’s the 6th or 8th whisky you’ve tasted in an hour, everything will be disappointing! On another note, have you tried their limited release Robur’s Reserve? Good gawd….
I know you guys have done an Irish coffee episode.... but hear me out on this... what if for a Tribe video you guys try to see what whiskey makes the best coffee... No more adding whiskey to coffee... lets make coffee using whiskey in lieu of water. What could go wrong?!? FOR SCIENCE!

I'm just not enough of a bottle hunter to find out release dates and camp out on their doorstep. I understand both Baller and the Single Malt sell out quickly. B&E is pretty okay, but just not a fave.

Which lot number of the St. George did you try? Each year is a different lot and Blend. I have the 16,17, and 18. The 16 is the best.

Elton Billings the secret is having friends that work at ST george and livong in the san francisco Bay area lol. Their Baller is one of my favorites
