How do you check the power steering fluid on a 2010 chevy equinox if it has one
Thanks for the video! On the coolant reservoir, the top hose right underneath the cap. Where does that go? Mine broke lose and can’t seem to find it?!?
I have to correct you on the trans fluid if you remove the lower motor mount you will see the yellow dipstick it is held in place by a 12 mm bolt take that off and firmly grab dipstick and pull up on it and if u need fluid use a hand pump with a hose to fill it to proper level GM doesn't want people to know about this so u have to take to the dealer and pay through the rear.its easy to do and chk manual for what type of fluid my 05 takes mercon5 fluid.

You're wrong about checking the trans fluid. You can check it by removing a trans mount underneath the front. Easily done, then the dipstick is easy to get to. Did mine today, took me 5 minutes to remove the mount. Also changed the fluid. Refill by sticking a hose from top down into the dip stick hole. Hope this helps you.
Is it another way to put transmission fluid inside of a Chevy equinox 06
Thank you so much for this. My local Chevy dealership keeps telling me my coolant fluid is dirty. When I looked in there it was such a nice fluorescent orange I was actually kind of offended they thought I’d believe it was dirty.
It prob is dirty so is mine. Like the reservoir is orange and dirty looking

thanks 1aauto. there is a way to check the trans oil but it does it in drops. I read the manual but can't seem to find the location. it has two screws you undo it says. I have the Sport version same year model though. thanks again y'all. loads of help!
Remove the lower motor mount you will see a yellow dipstick held in by 12mm bolt remove bolt and pull dipstick up.
Where should the motor oil level be on this type of dipstick?
It would be VERY HELPFUL if you included how to check & fill (or drain & fill) TRANS FLUID as that is the most difficult to find & really does need a DIY tutorial for the layman.

What happens if you mix the red antifreeze with the green antifreeze?? I just did that yesterday but the green antifreeze said it could be mixed with any color!!
It has to be orange so it lubricates the water pump.

+Willow Rose Sierra 1st Generation Equinox's (05-09) used electronic power steering and thus didn't have power steering fluid until the hydraulic power steering was brought back in the 2nd gen models. If your power steering is out, it might be a bad fuse

How do you check the power steering fluid??
+Jose Martinez When you remove the cover, there should be a little dipstick on the cap with recommended fill levels, make sure that the fluid is topped of to the recommended level. Hope this helps you out. 1aauto.com
read somewhere that this year only has an electronic power steering unit, not.hydraulic .....is that true?

+Martin Campbell The 05-06 models could have had either electronic or hydraulic and from 2007 on have the hydraulic rack.
