SOLVED! 2008 Chevy Equinox Sudden Loss of Power Steering

- If you suddenly lost power steering while driving, After a jump start or even After not starting the vehicle after a while and your 80 AMP fuse is not blown and you are out of options and can’t find any helpful solutions on the internet then you should invest 10 minutes of your life and try this. (Power steering control module did not come up when scanned twice)
In a thousand years I never thought this would work but I just did it to my 2007 Equinox and it totally worked.

@Lil K00n I did exactly what he did in the video. Removed the panel and made sure none of the wires were loose. I believe 1 of the sets goes to the electric power steering. I had already replaced the 80 amp fuse which did not help.
I just got off work and my power steering is out in my 08 equinox, going to try this.

Thank you so much, I just had the same issue this morning and I watched your video boom problem solved. My car is a Pontiac Torrent 2006. When I took the cover off I noticed that one of the plugged wire was not entirely plugged in, so I pushed the plug in the problème was fixed. You just saved me a lot of headache.

How the hell did you get the cover off mine will not budge!
Our power steering in our 07 equinox just suddenly went out, we fiddled with the wires turned the car back on and it worked again!

Thank you so much. For me it was the wires going through the black rubber toward the center of the steering column. I wonder how many people paid big money to replace parts because of an electrical connector problem.

an egr vale will cause them codes. also there a part below the brake petal you can replace

GM probably hates you for making this video! If you happen to go missing we here will all know why! They rather charge you 1000+ to fix something so easy! I own the 08 sport . I spent alot of money on replacing the timing chain! Shouldn't happen on a car with such low mileage. I'm hoping someone steals it to be honest! Last GM I will ever buy thats for sure.

How do you get those screws out...what kinds screw driver? Anyone? I'm seeing them in there but can't really grip em..
Also how you put transmission fluid in a 2008 chevy equinox
So in order to add transmission fluid to this vehicle you have to remove one of the the lower motor mounts and then there is a transmission dip stick which holds it with a screw. Then you get 1 inch hose I believe with a funnel on the end and that’s how you add it. I will have to find the link to the video so you can see it.

I would not know on that man! Maybe a corroded ground wire? Try and locate your ground wire and see if it properly grounded. Most times it needs direct contact with bare metal.

There is no steering fluid sir. It is an electronic power steering motor which is located under the steering wheel.

It went off only cuz u turned off the car cuz usually when this happens I turn of car and turn on again it work good for few days maybe weeks the it happens randomly so what u did is nothing bro it’s just cuz the car was turned off then on again that’s all loool
My service stabiltrak lights up once in a while but I don’t happen to lose power steering. I drive 40 miles daily. Don’t know why the light comes up. 🤷🏻♂️
@@chuylalo96 I have the same issue with 07 Malibu and it keeps coming back randomly few weeks to few months.
sentido comun ; Honestly don’t know what the issue might be! Maybe the PCM need to be reprogrammed? God knows. Same happened to me, light comes up once in a while but then turns off; I do not lose power steering though!
