  • iPhone 15 Pro vs Xiaomi 13T Pro Charging Test - The Xiaomi 13T Pro comes with a whopping 120W Fast charger (HyperCharge) and the iPhone 15 Pro comes with "No Charger". So I went out and bought an Apple charger for £20 which is 20W. Is it a fair test? probably not, but the fact the iPhone starts at 999 and the Xiaomi 13T Pro is 699, you'd think Apple would include a charger in the box.

Hi Paul, hope your well 👍
    Couple of questions for u...
Do u think there's a potential risk to battery life in the longterm to superfast battery charging?
Do u think what happened to Huawei will happen to xiaomi?
(Really like the 13 ultra but put off getting it due to the potential hassles)

Hey Ste, sorry I didn't see this message for some reason. It's difficult to say really, I would probably say that the batteries made now are able to handle higher wattage being thrown at them. And no way, Xiaomi won't become another Huawei. Wait for the 14 Ultra next year 👌😎 Hope you're well dude!

Is the 14 ultra going to be released in the UK?

Using anything more than a 20 watt charger on the iphone doesn’t increase its speed. It caps out in the low 20s regardless. Faster charger it actually throttles it quicker.

iPhone charging speeds are an embarrassment 😂

I think my issue with Apple is that they throttle and severely slow the process once it gets to around 80%. 62% at 33 minutes really isn't that bad of a time based on the highest charging speed. It probably could charge fully in under an hour if Apple allowed it too. Apple's threshold is 80% though and that's where they want people to really stop. Meanwhile some people are still complaining of early battery drain and poor battery life in some models. Battery drain, while still top in its class, also appears to be suffering or lessoning somewhat also.

In iPhone the charging control by the phone, in xiaomi the fastcharging control by the charger..

I have had oneplus 9 for nearly 2 years now. I have charged my phone 2 times a day because I use it so much.
My battery health is still at 82%. Exactly the same as an iPhone would be.
I don't know what iPhone is doing, but they think they prolong the battery health of the phone. It's definitely not true.

So in the end the price of an iPhone 15 Pro Max is £999 plus £69 a charger plus the price of a protective case. In other words, a new method to trick customers into paying what they already paid when they bought the phone. Out of curiosity, how long can an iPhone work without a charger when do you take it out of the box for the first time?? Embarrassing for a name as big as iPhone !!!

120W is impressive but I value the health of the battery more over rapid charging. The heat generated from this isn't going to be good for the battery in the long-term.
I also don't mind when a charger isn't included. They're already ubiquitous (especially if you're a geek) and they're cheap.
I'm a Pixel owner before you wonder.

Yea there's such a mix of different people. I'm guessing there's more general consumers than geek or tech heads. A general consumer would appreciate a charger for sure.

maybe you're one of those dudes that changes their phone every 5-10 years so you care about battery health but me i actually change mine every year so id rather have a fast charger than worry about degredation because frankly every phone batteries degrades but atleast i get to charge my phone really fast. and also having a 120w charger included is a steal for the consumer. i own an s23 ultra and wouldn't mind having these things included inside the package.

People have been saying that since 15w fast charging. I have a 10t pro and I had it for more than 3 years basically since it's launch and it has a 33w turbo charge. The battery is still completely fine and it gets me through a day easily with 7 hours of screen on time after all these years!
Don't worry about it it'll be fine they are using multiple cells of battery to add up the charging speed
