When I saw this GWP, I knew I had to have it, it looks so cool. Of course I had to get out to the Lego store and take advantage of the double points, but this was a great bonus. I said that the Halloween add-on pack wasn't as good as the one from last year, but it makes more sense now. The barrel for a crows nest, tree and leaves for the island, sea-weed, another chest wooden windows, skeleton, . It's like many of the pieces were put into the add-on pack with this GWP in mind.
Literally bought the technic Audi Dakar set just to get this GWP…it goes so well Ray the castaway. What a beautiful combo. Released almost a year apart too! EDIT - commented before the end of the video 😂 I love that you included RAY!! Great review!!
Ya, rename it Shark Head Island and add either a rope or chain to tie the raft and it's a 10/10. I personally like that the GWP don't have exclusive parts, it makes it a fun actual gift with purchase rather than "awww, i really want those exclusives but have to get to a purchase threshold...".
Great Review! You definitely managed to meet high quality standards while still being very fast. The set is lovely. And it doesn't use a lot of tiny 1x1 tiles and plates. That doesn't happen very often recently.
I like this, made sure to get mine (kindly of mesh well with the 3-in-1 pirate ship, color wise). Although I still prefer the Ray the castaway, can't beat the palm trees and mesh well with the pirates of barracuda bay. Now I just have to justify getting the eldorado fortress....maybe black friday.
I enjoy Pirates and holiday themed Lego so this is right up my alley. Neat set. I would say Ray the Castaway is a bit better still, but this is a much lower threshold than that gwp was.
