There's some great songs on this album, dividing line, calling all stations, one man's fool, must be some other way. Really good, and deserved more respect.

I really agree with your comments regarding this track and the album in general. The Dividing Line is a great track and probably the centrepiece of the album. One needs to try to forget Phil and Peter and appreciate Calling all Stations for its own worth and merit. Ray Wilson does a great job on vocals and has real swagger. The songs are tremendous and many of the lyrics are as usual with Rutherford and Banks moving and intelligent. It's a great pity this line up has been, as you indicate, so unappreciated. It doesn't matter what the old fossils or anybody else says, Calling all Stations is a great album, full of great songs. Listen to it ASAP.

One of my favourite tracks In this album, Such an Underappreciated track, Espically with the instrumental, and lyrics. Wilson, despite it being his first with Genesis in my opinion, did his part and great, everyone knew how hard it was too replace Phil, and if they've only given him a full chance. Like I said, out of all the tracks in this album, there's always more than one track that's your favorite, and this is one of them. All you gotta do is give it a chance, instead of just following the bandwagon of Hate. All the best legends 💙👏

Lyrics to this great track; 💙👏
There has always been a dividing line
But you choose, you choose, yes you choose not to see it
And then you wonder why you fall
It cuts through the heart of every city
If you climb to the top of the highest building
You can see where it falls 'cause the streetlights stop
    The colours start to change
You hear a voice inside you
Not the words that you wanted to hear
Not the things that you wanted to see hey, hey, hey, hey
In the comfort and safety of your own home
Remember those outside in the cold
And the wind and the rain
And take in your hands a little ray of light
And turn it into a beam that pierces the darkness of the night
There has always been a dividing line
But you choose, you choose, yes you choose not to see it
Sometimes we believe if we close our eyes
The rain might wash it away
That's why we stumble and we fall
Not the words that you wanted to hear
Not the things that you wanted to see hey, hey, hey, hey
When everything that you hold dear to you
Has finally faded away from your life
The last cold ray of sunshine slowly disappears
Round the corner of the building
    And leaves you alone
When darkness covers the city and the streets are silent too
    What will you turn to...

A lot of negative comments about this album. There's no need really. Listen to music without prejudice, as the great George Michael told us to. It's OK to like it, it's OK not to, but there's little point in making endless comparisons. In my view what made Genesis so interesting is that they did develop, they did change and they did break new ground. All the greatest artists and composers developed over time. If you prefer Peter Gabriel well fine, go and listen to Peter Gabriel then, or whatever. Almost all the great music (pop, rock, classical, opera, you name it) requires repeated listening, study, patience and attention to give up its secrets. I listen to a massive range of music from Wagner to Bach to John Coltrane to Messiaen. Genensis are one of the most astonishing creative forces in musical history - period. It's worth hearing everything they put out.
