i feel like it's the opposite besides maybe love and dillon. they've been pretty consistent picking high round defensive and o-line players. yeah, everyone the last few years has hyped up pass catchers like Jaxon Smith Njigba for example but the more grounded fans always said it wouldn't happen. Christian Watson was drafted earlier than any receiver since 2002 and that was still in the second round.
He needs an NFL strength and conditioning program. In a year or two he could really blossom. Until then he'd be solid in 3-tech/pass down rotation and a special teams stud. Kind of reminds me of a less-bendy Howie Long with his versatility. The way he blew up Dawand Jones (6'8" 375) shows some of the strength he can muster.
He's got strength. What he lacks are moves. Won't be as effective in the pros unless he develops some. 2nd rd talent at most IMO. That said, I still want the Bears to snag him.
So many of these plays are simply not happening at the NFL level. I'm far from a hater, but I can't say that anything about this tape warrants him being a first round pick, let alone a top 12 selection.
Half of his big plays are hustle plays or coverage sacks. Can’t just rely on strength to beat NFL Offensive lineman. He’s solid but not a top 10 talent
He reminds me of 2x super bowl champ Aaron Smith. Extremely underrated piece of that championship Steelers Defense. Would love to see pittsburgh take him at 17 if he falls. This is a pick that may not help you day 1 but will be a generational building block on a defense.
First round for sure. He's stiff, but hes big and doesn't give up. You can put him at 3tech on passing downs too. If you've got that length at that size with good hustle you can go first round.

Get him into an NFL bulking program to pack on 15-20 pounds and turn him into a dominant 3 tech. Insane block shedding ability already. Maybe Detroit at 6
He's not the top of my list at all for 6 but it looks like his measurables are going to get him taken a lot higher than what he's ready for. Would love at 18
After that bears trade with panthers for dj Moore and the rest of the haul bears are most likely looking to get offensive line in FA and draft Tyree Wilson, carter, van ness, someone at #9 now. I imagine carter, Anderson and tyree Wilson will be taken by the time we get to choose at 9 so it might be van ness is my guess
I believe the bears will go offensive tackle for future needs … that’s the best route to take … Pass rusher class this year is DEEP … you can arguably even get one in the early second round .
Check out his other teammate no one really actually talks about....Captain Jack Campbell...the guy is a beast...if he had decent enough speed...most definitely a first round pick. Van Ness is good.
