Well, it WAS cheap.....996 Turbo build continues. The parts, labor, receipts. late nights, and long days are adding up. Starting to think it wasn't worth the "low price".

If I ever thought to myself, “maybe I’ll purchased a clapped out Porsche” then I’ll watch this series again to remind myself it’s not a good idea

Your 996 build series and Kelvin Malli’s R32 resto build series raise my stress levels to 1000 ! Keep up the good work , can’t wait to see it completed!

Hey Matt, I wanted to thank you for taking the time to produce these videos. You do a great job and they’re fun to watch. I’m interested to see what you’ll be doing with the paint mismatch. Have a great week! Stew in AZ

Great color combo. The gt2 front bumper looks great. The motor and switch seem like they’re trying on the seat. There’s a little cable that runs through a sheath that moves the seat. It may have become dislodged under the seat. You may be able to check it by braille with your hand from beneath the back of the seat. If you have to remove the seat, don’t forget to disconnect the battery first or you’ll throw a code. Will also be a good time to probe the plug that goes to the heat element in the seat to check for voltage. There’s an inexpensive head unit by Atoto on Amazon that I put in my ‘01 TT a couple of years ago. It still works excellent. It was an easy install. My amps are in the frunk. It works with Android well and will work with my Apple phone too so you get Bluetooth connectivity for phone calls, and can wirelessly or wired tether the phone to the unit for wifi to run all apps on the head unit, including Waze, Spotify, email, RUclips, Bluetooth obd2 code reader, etc. There’s also a rear reverse camera option. I’m sure the same company offers better models now still for cheap. Window regulators can be had for cheap on Amazon, too. I did the passenger side of my old c2 cab and it worked perfect. They’re known to fail in these (996) cars. Excellent job on the rear license plate area. Those bumperette carbuncles look terrible on these cars. You can also check the shifter cable adjustments under the console if the shifter feels like it has play. Also, the plastic cups wear on the shifter itself over time. Short shifters are an improvement. Check the forums because the beauty of these old cars is that someone has already replaced/repaired/modded everything on these cars.

Check out Numeric when your ready to upgrade to a solid shifter and shift cables. Also my friend has a 996 turbo out in Scottsdale and trusts Evolution Motorsports with all his performance upgrades. I saw you had some of their parts on ur car. Really enjoy watching this car come together man. I need another project now 👍🏼

Use posterboard to make a template for the license plate filler then trace that onto the ABS. Doing that allows you to make it a perfect fit to the curves of the bumper.

Perhaps you might have already done it, but the trunk gets lit when opened and one of those new led lights you have in your drawer would fit. In my case (01 996 C2 cab)... I ordered the led lights from ebay and the vendor sent me the exact ones I needed for the trunk, bonnet, doors and cab/dome light. I love your channel.

I look forward to your videos every day man. The B Roll, the commentary, it's just a normal dude (aside from your massive arms and incredible physique) that is doing normal things. It's actually refreshing to see.

Another great video, it is so cool to see you go thru this journey and impressive that u do all the work yourself. It is a ton of work, but the end result is gonna totally be worth it. This Yellow 996 project is like a Netflix series, I can’t get enough, haha.

I had the same problem with wind noise on my audi s5, the window wasn't sealing going up all the way but only by a couple of mm so it was really hard to tell, maybe measure the gaps by eye on each side and see if they are the same? I never fixed it so ne help there but hopefully it might point you in the right direction

Told you there was a good chance the shifting was a free 5 minute fix. If you're replacing the leather boot, I strongly suggest you do with the Rennline billet shift knob. Feels (and looks) so much better. As for the cupholders, they're pretty useless anyway. I ditched mine and bought a little 2-cup console from Amazon that wedges in between the center console and passenger seat. If you wind up doing a Function First or other shift upgrade kit to take some of the slop out (cheap), then have the center console repainted to get rid of the stupid rubberized coating Porsche uses. Door pocket lids too.
