Im 5'5", 29" inseam 26.5" arms. My new to me 2023 Road Glide FLTRX fits me well. Standard seat. With the standard height 13" rear shocks im on the balls of my feet at a stop or non-powered travel. What I lose in flatfooted-ness, I gain in better than the Special handling and not scraping making very leaned over turns.
Zero helmet buffeting. You want terrible buffeting, ride a Street Glide.
I actually want taller bars as I hate my hands being so low in the factory position. Apes or nothing
No issues with visibility? That's my main concern with the Road Glide at 5'7 lol
I am 6'5" and I ride a Road King. It's impressive how these bikes can be tweaked for different-sized folks.
“I wish they were six speeds too. Why do they make them five speeds?”
Got news for ya buddy.......they ARE six speeds. All Harley touring bikes have a six speed transmission.
LOL....bro i almost fell outta my chair when he said that
Mine has a 4 speed. It’s old and. 4 speeds are plenty. But 6 speeds sounds better.
Am 5’4”, just bought a street glide standard, it is heavy, but with finesse, it is just fine, see over the taller windshield just fine, nice video
I’m 5’9” but inseam 30” which is really like 5’4” but I still can plant feet
Liked & Subscribed, thank you for taking me for a beautiful ride in your beautiful home state, same height as you, just bought a 2020 Road glide Special and am so Happy with it. Ride safe & take care, Aloha, Kenneth
Oh that is awesome. Do you just have the stock seat with it? That is pretty much what I would want to buy I liked the reach seat
Man that’s funny I recognized thunder mountain from like 5 blocks away. “I know where he is headed I was just there a week ago” lol
I am 4.11 and I ride the glide 2017 .. np,,,
When the bike is chugging like that either down shift but give some gas sounds like it's going to stall while riding it!
I just sat on my first road glide recently, and I agree the fairing isn't as big as it looks on video. At least it didn't feel all that big to me.
What what it is worth usually first thing most people do is replace windshield on New road glide getting something with a nice curve you will be happy
"... Now where's the mute..."🤣🤣🤣 I did the same thing, the salesman was like want me to walk you through the navigations? I was like how do you turn it off 🤣🤣🤣
Haha yeah I didn't want to get a copyright strike
Thanks for the review. I was looking at the exact same bike at the dealership here, and was worried about the reach and control as I'm also a short guy. Did not have a chance for a demo, so this review was quite helpful
You are very welcome. If you were to get it I would definitely suggest the lowering suspension. It does a way better job than the seat
@@DapperxDan Thanks for the tip. When I got my BMW R1200RT, stops were uncomfortable, tiptoeing on my left foot, right foot on brake. I then got a low seat, and that made a huge difference. All is well now. My hunt for a Harley has been piqued by the announcement of the Sportster S. So, the wait is on...
Nice that definitely looks like a cool bike. I can't wait to test ride one
I test rode both the Street Glide and Road Glide specials and both CVO models at my local H-D demo weekend and I loved them all. I really wanted to like the RG but to me the SG was better feeling in stock form. I think I’d like the RG better between the 2 if I did just 3 things to them both. I’m around 6’2” and the stock seat on the Specials were just AWFUL, they sat me up and forward making the bars feel super uncomfortable, also the brake pedal is just too close for me, the 3 things I’d immediately do to a RGS would be bars, seat and 1.75” brake pedal extension (in that order). Then I think the bike would be amazing and I think I’d be able to just ride it for hours on end without stopping, also highway pegs would be a must for long road trips.
I think all H-D bikes in stock form have bad bars and seats. I rode a Lowrder S and the pegs were the worst, I was hitting false neutrals, missing shifts because I literally had to lift my entire leg to shift. That bike is suited for short riders unless it had forward controls, but then it wouldn’t be as performance oriented. The Lowrider S had the best suspension of all the bikes I rode, hands down.
Also, a big wheel turbo bagger is useless... The big wheel , stretched bag look is dying, just like the OCC chopper style bikes did. The new trend is performance baggers, with performance suspension, standard bags, 2-1 exhaust and t-bars. That’s what I’d do if and when I finally get RG. I also like the look of the big wheel, but for long trips it just isn’t my thing. I came from a sport bike background so I really like performance, especially suspension because it makes a HUGE difference. I currently have a 20’ Street Bob with a Stage 2, I changed the rear shock and I’m going to change out the forks hopefully soon. After that I think I’ll sell it later this year and make a move towards a bagger.
No you didn’t
Were you able to put both feet flat on the ground? I'm 5'7 and have sat on the 2020RG standard and was on my toes.
Not quite it was so wide I had to use my toes as well
@@DapperxDan I’m 5’4” and with a Mustang Lowdown seat and 12” Legend Revo-A rear shocks I’m finally flat footed.
@@bubbanezz that’s what I need, I’m 5’4 as well
@@bubbanezz nice! I used to have a RGs too. Loved everything about BUT not being able to flat foot was a constant pain because I park the bike about 7 to 10 times a day, on different kind of terrains (sort of).
I ended up trading it for a FatBoy. However I miss the RGs soooo much.
Any chance you could upload a video about how you reach tbe floor with the suspension you mention, please?
You should go find an empty parking lot and see how slow you are able to ride in a straight line, I got to like 3 mph on mine 🤙🏻
I will do that on my next test ride
First time to channel and hear the Colorado roads are amazing. I need to do some demo rides next year and you will get used to the bike weight. Ride safe
Thank you very much and welcome
Colorado roads are horrible lol but the scenery is insane
Test Ride a bike and you don’t know the year and not sure if it’s a special .. Too funny
Your roadglide motorcycle is so cool.
The exhaust sounds are powerful and stable.
I'm honored to be your best channel friend.
Have a nice day.
👍👍👍🤙🤙🤙👌🙋♂️
Fail
Turbo?! Dude you were barely hitting the speed limit on your bike or this one. You might want to hold off on performance upgrades there, Speed Racer, just my unsolicited, non malicious opinion. It is a six speed btw, but I see why you wouldn’t have known that from this ride.
5’4 - 5’9 is the average height for men in the west. You’re not short, the women’s standards are way too high and unrealistic.
What seat is that??
It is called the reach seat
Friction zone and your U turns will improve
How tall are you?!
I am 5'6 on a good day
How tall are you?
I am 5'6 on a good day
Same as me. You could see over the fairing just fine? @@DapperxDan
This was a couple years ago but I remember a lot of the road in front of me was blocked. Much like having a long hood in a big truck
PPL....ADJUST YOUR MIRRORS PRIOR TO RIDING PLS....SAFETY
I am 5`8'' how tall are you sir ? New to this channel.
I'm 5'6 on a good day
@@DapperxDan thank you I like the look of the road glide too
@@DapperxDan I guess I'm screwed. I'm 5'2" 😢
The fairing is actually out of your way.
Rpm's don't work without turning the throttle lol
Feel like u can barely see the road in front of u.
I could see pretty well except like directly in front of me. No worse than having a hood on a car
@@DapperxDan only wondering cause I am 5’3” and would love to own one of those.
Yeah me too it was a great bike. Definitely would recommend the lowering suspension and possibly the reach seat too
Just keep in mind some 90lb girl will stand that Bike up on one wheel and ride all the way down the street, get the weight out of your head, and learn how to shift gears and give the bike some throttle!
You don’t know what year it is. You didn’t adjust the mirrors before you left and we are suppose to respect your review
... and the beginning of the video, the other guy was passing him on the shoulder because Dan was making a left turn into the dealership but was not in the center turn lane.
I bet you guys can do so much better lol
How tall are you ? Im 5’3”
I am 5'6
@@DapperxDan thats tall compared to me lol idk if i would be able to see over the fairing
I would definitely suggest sitting on one. I thought it was easy to see over it
@@alf7911 No worries brother Im 5' 4" I ride a Ultra Classic with adjustable air suspension and I can see fine over the fairing. It takes a little getting used to, but after that your good to go. Good luck and safe riding!
Heel shifter
You can’t even see anything
How short are you lol
I'm like 5'6
@DapperxDanMotovlog cool bro im 5'9 ish, im use to riding street bikes so im curious on the change for me on that end as well. My bike is in my profile pic so you'd kind of see the difference it would be for me. My wife wants to ride so we've been looking into Harleys for a while and the rg is what we wanna go with ..... thank you for replying bro stay safe out there 💪🏽
how tall are you?
I'm 5'6 on a good day

I'm 5'6 on a good day
@@DapperxDan that's pretty tall compared to me lol 😆 I'm 5' nothing and I'm thinking of getting a street glide. Right now I have the same 48 like yours.
I would definitely suggest the lowering suspension for the street glide
@@DapperxDan I'll probably go that route. Thanks for the good review and for your fast response 👍 luv your vids
Thank you very much and you are welcome
