Not many people in the world know that Korean peninsula was the Front Line of collision of democracy VS communism in 1950s when the lunatic communism expanded world wide. Koreans and the UN protected it. And Olympic games were held in 1988 in S. Korea. Many Eastern European communist countries were shock at the development of S. Korea. And it finally led to the collapse of the Soviet Union. The current situation is almost same as the old one. - The cold war between communist China and the US and S. Korea is in the middle of them. How dramatic the Korean history is!

몽골군에 패한 한번빼곤 모든 전쟁에서 이겼고 방어해냈고 한국은 타국을 한번도 침략한적이 없는 나라다 물론 국력이 약해서 이기도 했겠지만 지금은 아니라는걸 알아야한다

It was a beautiful short serie! Loved it all and taking notes on where to go and what to do for our own trip! For sure we will go to the war memorial museum such an important site to visit in my eyes to have a better understanding of its people they ve gone such a long way and it’s incredible how they turned it around! Hi Oskar and Dan, I've discovered your channel in the last couple of months and really enjoy following your travels. I can tell that you've grown and improved your videos significantly recently. One suggestion I might offer is try to vary your background music a little more. I feel like we kind of hear the same stock tracks over and over again, and they don't always necessarily fit what we're seeing on screen. Sometimes something with a little more "classical" flair or even "grandeur" might be appropriate. Just a thought - I noticed it as I'm a musician myself. Best wishes!

Korea was always an independent country except mongols and Japanese rule. Everyone misunderstanding about Korea that it was a client state of China. But the Chinese tributary system was a symbolic Confucian world order, with its basis in trade and philosophical relations between foreign states and various Chinese dynasties. This wasn't ruling system. This was a way of establishing formal diplomatic relations between East Asian countries in the old days.

The Qing invasion of Joseon (Korean: Byeongja War) occurred in the winter of 1636 when the newly-established Qing dynasty invaded the Joseon dynasty, establishing the former's status as the hegemon in the Imperial Chinese Tributary System and formally severing Joseon's relationship with the Ming dynasty. The invasion was preceded by the Later Jin invasion of Joseon in 1627.
It resulted in a complete Qing victory over Joseon. After the War, Joseon became a subordinate of the Qing empire and was forced to cut ties with the declining Ming dynasty. Several members of the Joseon royal family were taken hostages and killed as Joseon recognized the Qing dynasty as their new overlord.

I dont understand why South Korea is so underrated, people visit a lot more Japan....., if you put all together, creativity, hard working people, humbleness, openess to trade with the world, their technology - here in the western side, we are so backwards! slow internet etc, the great emphasis in educating the country as high as possible, their gastronomy is healthy and nutritious, their public transport runs very smooth, the city in general, their streets, markets in general are insanely clean.....South Korea is the future👊

Interesting video. À propos of recent history, Sweden was on very friendly terms with DPRK and (Jong Un's grandfather) Kim Il Sung during the 1960s and 70s. I think it gave North Korea a substantial amount of developmental aid.

Hello Oskar & Dan my friend try to visit beautiful places in the Philippines , explore Boracay Beach in Malay, Aklan, it is claimed to be the best beach of the world. (Check it out in RUclips) There is a direct daily flight from Cebu going to Caticlan Airport in Boracay Islands.
BEST THING TO DO IN BORACAY ISLANDS.
1. Island Hopping in Boracay Islands, it is full of white sandy beaches, blue indigo waters and dreamy sunsets. Known to be unexploited paradise. The stops often includes the beaches of Lapus-lapus, Ilig-iligan, Crocodile Island & Magic Island.
2. Visit Puka Shell Beach in Boracay, it is located in Yapak, Malay, Aklan, tricycles and boats going to Puka Shell Beach can be hired from White Beach.
3. Ariel's Point is the most popular for the 15 meters high diving boards where adventure junkies can leaf off to the clear waters below. It is located in Batason, Buruanga, Aklan,purchase a ticket from Ariel's house in Station 1 where the boat leaves to Ariel point.
4. Explore Mount Luho, is the highest point of the Islands, rising 100 meters above sea level. Tricycles from any stations can be hired to take you to the Mount Luho entrance.
5. Visit Crystal Cove, is one of the must-visit Islands hopping destination when you're in Boracay. Outrigger boats heading to Crystal Cove can be hired from Station 1.
6. Bulabog Beach , also known as "back beach", is popular for windsurfing and kitesurfing competitions. It is only 5 minute walk towards the east from D Mall Shopping Center, located White Beach Station No. 2.
7. Take a trip to Diniwid Beach, it's just short walk away from all the bars. Tricycles from any point of White Beach can be hired to take you to Diniwid Beach.
8. Willy's Rock , is probably one of the most recognizable attractions of the Boracay Islands, it is located at Willy's Rock, Station 1, Boracay.
9. Watch the Iconic Sunsets in Boracay Islands
10. Scuba diving in Boracay, underneath Boracay's crystalline waters is a bustling and thriving ecosystem teeming with marine life.

Now, this am late to the party, but the new army of the federal republic of Germany wasn’t founded until late 1955, when the Korean War was already over. Of course there were some armed forces before that, but not really an army, more of a border force. So it shouldn’t be to surprising Germany didn’t have much of an involvement in that conflict
