GOLF 8 R stock doesnt run far behind a A45s ( I know I have a 8r and raced 2 A45's over the 1/4 mile a few times including running neck and neck twice ! So a stage 1 can very possibly achieve this result - no surprise to those that own and drove both these cars
@FanaticDrivers Just bought 2024 R DSG and 2023 GLA45 AMG ..my wife is mad. Gave the golf to my son, he will pay 50% of the loan. I like GLA45 better. It has 387 metric horsepower (PS)
@Alexdbre tested yesterday. My mate has bought a white mk8 r. My a45 pulls cars lengths. But the golf does have a good launch it was right with me all the way to about 70/80mph then I started pulling hard after 100mph.... nonetheless I was impressed by the golf but it is very pricey for what it is

I drive a Cupra with about 320 HP and won on DR vs A35 and A45 Amgs most of the time, the 4Matic system just isn't good, but the car is gorgous and the interior is nice aswell (better than C class lmao) Stage 1 with Gearbox would do the A45 justice, but then again, the Golf with a Stage 1 + Gearbox even wins vs a RS3 on Drag Races, VW 4 Cylinders are no joke and good on eco :) Sick car btw!
Mercedes has indeed got a few models that use Renault motors/parts, however, the A45 is not one of them. AMG models never use Renault motors or parts. Agreed 100%. Factory standard specifications the AMG pushes out 280kw whereas the Golf pushes out maximum of 235kw😂. No way in hell that the Golf beats the Merc. The Merc driver obviously tapped off. Maybe he didnt want to embrass the VW. By the way....both these vehicles are all wheel drive with same engine displacement.

If you put a better driver in a slower car, he could still win because of his driving skills on a touge track. We compare cars on this channel and not the drivers. it depends what you want to do with it. do you want to modify the car? If so, then the Golf, but if you keep it nice and standard, then the AMG
