Hey man That bag does suit your drone in and 3 batteries.....with the controller. and charger and the dock for 3 batteries. You just have to take all the parts outof the hard box. It's designed like that.
Hey Man, I understand that the drone and everything can fit in the bag...However when I used it that way when I first got the drone it was not enough protection and a set of propellers got bent inside the bag. I should have said in the video that it will fit but what I think would have been smarter if the hard case could fit down in the bag and then you wouldn't have to worry about damaging the drone. I agree with you that I should have clarified this in the video.
Just make sure the props face the inside of the chassis and you should be all set... or you can get prop clips www.googleadservices.com/pagead/aclk?sa=L&ai=DChcSEwjdsLC4jaLWAhVLkX4KHQn2BHIYABACGgJwYw&ohost=www.google.com&cid=CAESEeD2BxT_I9HsAyO9Vv2oqQU_&sig=AOD64_3XAF5HeFXHfof51Oli0y7ocV0qmg&ctype=5&q=&ved=0ahUKEwjGrau4jaLWAhXIrFQKHSwSCFAQvhcIMA&adurl=
The carry case that comes with the Fly More Combo works great for the Spark, two extra batteries, cables and the controller. Take the Spark out of the clam shell it ships in and drop it in the case. It is perfect, Oh, please say three axis gimbal and not a five axis.
everything fits in the shoulder bag. If you feel the props arent protected then take them out and use the designated pockets IN the dji bag to store thema long with spares, batteries, etc.... the bag was DESIGNED for the spark/mavic + RC + batteries + extras, to be utilized as a soft case. If you needed more protection then get a designated hard case. I don't think ANY camera company or drone company has ever included a designated hard case stock. I think the styrofoam hard case works fine for long-term storage or long-term travel. I think it's obvious it's not supposed to fit inside the soft dji bag...
I agree with Nathan. It would have made more sense to make the bag fit the hard shell instead of having to buy another bag. I ended up throwing the bag away, which is a TERRIBLE waste of resources.
Good choice. I recently bought one last month, and I love it. Video is sharp and clear. Reasonably stable in winds. Good flyer. Good videos. RTH works really well, too.
what's up i will use spark for a while till I become better on flying drone then will update to mavic air. Did you try mavic air before and do you recommend it. Because i like slow motion and spark doesn’t have it
I had the same thought as you about the bag and the case, but I've found I like the bag a lot better actually. Smaller and easier to deal with, still protects the Spark really well, and carries all of the things you need for a day trip. If you're going on a longer trip, then you pack the charger a little differently, or you just charge 1 battery at a time.
+stalters yeah I just wish they would have made that awesome hard case fit. I've bent a propeller just using the bag and the hard case by itself is a pain. I think I'm going to order a all in one case from amazon.
Nice review. I run 5 batteries and find it awesome. I have an inverter in the car and can charge 3 at a time, fly all day like that. I use OTG with a Galaxy S7, great range, no image loss. Cheers mate
Hey bro, when you put the spark in sport mode, it locks the gimbel. Its for fpv flying. And also you can plug your spark right in to your computer via usb cable provided and transfer your files directly. Good video though and great footage!
Good to know! So i assume footage will be much smoother when not in sport mode? And yes I have ended up transferring with USB a lot. That Micro SD card is hard for my fat fingers to handle lol
Actually, I think there's a choice between FPV and "smooth" under the camera settings in the DJI app. I haven't tried it myself, but understand FPV is the default in Sport Mode, with the ability to manually change...I'm new to this drone, and just graduated from Beginner mode. Lot to learn.
Thank you for taking the time to make this review after spending time with the device. It's great to hear the good and the bad user experiences. I still want to purchase this drone but II trust reviews more when both sides of the experience are shared. Thank you!
I really liked the "light on the techy stuff" review. I am just a normal guy like you that just wants stuff to work. I really am not interested in pixel density or what the kv ratings the motors are, etc. So, thank you for a honest, down to earth review of the DJI Spark!
I just got a DJI spark yesterday. I have been flying and building my own drones for a while now and even have told myself I'd never buy a DJI since I have built 6 custom drones however I finally gave in and bought this because it's so small and cute with really nice video abilities. I have yet to have a gimbal. Usually I'd just strap a gopro directly to the drone or have a mount that attaches directly to the frame. I'm very excited and happy to have a drone that has all these features in such a small frame unlike my bulky ones that have a big lipo I need to worry about charging and dealing with my big remote too. Yeah I can get like 50 min plus flight time but I don't really need that as I don't play as much with them as I do just like to make video.
the bag was designed to carry 100% of everything the box is a shipping box. DJI didnt mess up the bag side it fits the drone battery's remote and everything the foam box is for shipping
Bittergal Du Toit: not exactly...Spark has a 3 axis gimble, but only 2 of them are mechanical and visible from the outside. The 3rd axis (yawing) is done electronic by cropping the 4k sensor (sensor is the same as mavic!) to a 1080 video. That's the main reason everybody waiting for a software update to 4k video on Spark will do so in vain. The best we can hope is a 2k limited to tripod mode and that will only work with little to none wind.
Sorry, I've been not precise. Of course it is a two axis gimbal only in matters of camera movement. Still stability is achieved the way I wrote on three axes. The basic concept of digital stabilisation by proper cropping on the sensor is the method used in Parrots Bebop. But in fact with Spark roll axis is also just used for stabilisation, that leaves us with only one axis to be controlled as a camera gimbal. The Spark sensor is capable of 4K, it's the same as in Mavic. Still images also make use of it. But video is cropped to 1080p due to digital yaw stabilisation.
I've had mine for about 7 months now and I absolutely love flying mine. I have the Mavic Pro as well and the spark gets flown more. Just got back from flying it tonight. Don't get me wrong tho it's had it's problems with djis bad firmware but the 1000 firmware and 22 go4 app is working good for me using the Samsung galaxy s8 with fcc mode
i use the fly more bag. the spark fits in it without issue between the batteries. may not offer as much protection as the basic case but nice to throw over your shoulder and entirely useable nonetheless.
Hey Nathan. Great review. We got the point loud and clear about the Spark. Made me want to go out and buy one. I have 3 Solo's and one Mavic Pro I love to travel with. I also loved the honest mistakes. makes me realize that we all are human. Just loved it and thanks.
Keep in mind (when i refer to some of the negative aspects): The SPARK is primarily a "Selfie Drone" with the possibilities of doing something more. The Spark is doing a good job for what it was build for. If you want to have supersmooth video capture in all flight attitudes, higher video resolution and slow motions (record with higher fps) and longer flying time, get the double priced Mavic Pro. That's it.
Nice review bro, I’m sold, I’m going to Best Buy now and getting the fly more combo. I couldn’t decide and your vid popped up in the recommended section. It was the one I needed to see, thanks.
Hello, good video. The bag fits everything perfect and protects the drone perfectly! I have traveled a lot with the drone even to indonesia inside the suitcase. Awesome BAG!! fits 3 batteries extra propellers, OTG cable, USB cable, controller and more if you ask me...
Good point about the lack of attention it will draw. I've all but given up flying my Phantom 4 because everytime I put up in the air someone calls the police, starts a half hour conversation about it, or complains about me invading their privacy.
I like your review, especially because it seems not only honest, but spoken in laymen terms. Just like you said, your not a super tech freak, yet you were able to talk intelligently about all the different aspects of the drone and your opinions about it. The only thing I wanted to mention is that it's not a 3 axis drone it's a 2 axis where the Mavic Air and Pro are 3 axis instead of 5, but you still got your point across, by talking about how it's really difficult to turn the drone and get a smooth shot. I guess it wants to tilt or something. I'm concerned about that too, but like you, I'm very impressed with the footage quality. I almost think it looks a little clearer than the Mavic Air. I'll probably get some replies on that, but that's how it looks to me. Good job and thanks for taking your time to do this. Marc Trainor.
My only critism of the video on the spark, is it is a little soft at 1080p, especially when you compare it to 1080p video from the mavic (downscaled from 4k). But that maybe becuase it is downscaled, as the 1080p downscaled video may have a higher bitrate
I love my spark. People would be blown away with what this thing can do. It's so versatile, and the price has dropped so much. It's an amazing drone and perfect IMO as a first drone. You do realize the drone fits in the bag and has spots for batteries
So.... let me see if I understand.... Your complaints are; 1. The storage box won't fit in the transport bag. (It's not supposed to. The box is for storage, the bag is for transporting it when using.) 2. You don't like Micro SD cards because you can't figure out how to keep up with them. (Your fault, not the fault of the drone.) 3. You have to press one button to save your footage. (How terrible! You have to press a button!) 4. You want a 5 axis gimble on a small, inexpensive, beginner drone, because your footage is unstable when you jerk the drone around. (Actually, the 3 axis is awesome. You just need to learn to actually fly the drone smoothly and stop jerking it around.)
Agreed on #4. Sport mode is more for "sport" flying, not recording. I was really hoping to hear (or not to hear) about performance issues after 3 months on the drone, not esthetics. Otherwise, a good video. Just got my Spark, so if yours is still running well, I should be good to go!
Just ordered one. I already lost an expensive drone so i'm so afraid to lose my spark. Is it easy to fly with or had any trouble returning it home. Thx. Good video
I totally agree about the size. Looking like toy helps. I have DSLR Nikon camera and my friends are very awkward in front of it . But my FUJi x100T, which has same DSLR sensor in smaller retro looking format, they are totally okay with it. This Drone is also quiter than regular drone
Excellent review! You give your impressions and thoughts based on your experience which I find valuable. The more I hear about the Spark, the more I think that it would suit my purposes perfectly.
+J Jackie absolutely! It is great for beginners. I have found the fly more combo to be a must. It is difficult to fly with just the app. You really need the controller.
Thanks for sharing your perspectives. I'm wondering: do you get any negative feedback for flying over people/moving vehicles? I'm way too paranoid to do it myself.
I just wanted to add that I'm old enough now, that I don't even care if cargo shorts are out-dated or not. I've been wearing them for years, and pretty much for the same reason your talking about-putting a bunch of stuff in the pockets. Everyone have a nice day out there now. Marc (the lark).
I TOTALLY agree with the bag problem. I wished it was just ONE hardcase bag. Simple and convenient. Apart from that I found microSD really useful since I always carry my phone (not my laptop) and I cant just directly slid it in and enjoy the footage in high quality. But anyways thanks for the review!
Great review Nathan thanks man, I am going to buy this little drone just for family holidays as I already have a phantom 3 pro for client work. what a little gem it is thanks for posting ;)
I have sifted through all the comments that primarily concern packing the bag, but cannot find the info on the micro usb adaptors and where to get them.
Other than the bag talk this was good. There is literally a tag on the strap of the bag that shows you how everything fits in the bag. i was even able to fit the flat 3 battery charger on the top.
If you want to store the spark in the included bag, you have to take it out the hard bag!!! I fit my spark with 3 batteries and the controller in the bag included
Thx for the review. I hope you repeat this every 3 months. That would be very useful. I understand the sd card problem - thos damn Neanderthal genes. How many hours do you have on the drone?
Get a small pill box from drugstore to hold the tiny SD cards so you don't loose them and store in the soft pack from DJI, along with Spark after you take it out of hard pack.
Hey Nathan, thanks for the video. I really enjoyed watching it. You made some beautiful shots and I agree with what you said. I also own a dji Spark. I had some problem at first (it dropped unexpectedly) but now everything looks fine! Cheers
Bro about the bag... it suppose to replace the storage box.. if u reach inside the bag in the bottom there is actualy a partition to put the remote in.. it will fit everything apart from the chargers..
Agree with you on everything BUT battery life. A more realistic run time in my own experience with the spark is around 10 minutes. Unless you are consistently flying it down below 20%, which is not that great on your batteries. On average I get a solid 10 minutes stopping at 30%. Still.... A killer little drone. I find myself flying it WAY more than my phantom 4 pro!
Nice review. I learned a lot from both the review and the comments. I also have lost video by forgetting to turn off the video recording before turning off the Spark. However, I have learned from these prior comments that I can recover the video as well as transfer the video straight to my computer without removing the microSD card. Good to know! Like you, I love my Spark but I do agree that getting a gimbal cover and controller joysticks cover is well worth the investment.
it may be in the comments but i dont want to troll thru them lol, if you ever turn the machine off without stopping recording the way you get back your footage is just put the card back in the machiune start recording and then stop recording, shazam your footage is there complete
If you look at the label on the bag, it actually shows how to pack the drone, controller, cables, charger, and spare batteries into the dji bag. Just ditch the plastic box, the bag is all you need.
Great review man I agree the bag should be able to fit the box since the drone itself doesn't come with a gimbal cover and other protection accessories I owned a Tello drone and what I did with that is used a gym bag and put the drone with it's box in there and that was my cart case worked perfectly But yeah great review nice and easy to understand and seems real genuine 😊
Cool review, however i disagree with you on your frustration with the Micro SD, you can use one of those SD Micro SD cases, where you can carry up to 24 of them in that case without risking loosing them.
FWIW, I'm familiar with how electronic gyros and compasses work, and a 2 (or 3) axis gimbal has NOTHING to do with the drone's navigation and attitude control. The gimbal is the physical method of stabilizing the camera ONLY. Drone orientation is controlled by a 3 axis compass, 3 axis gyroscope, and 3 axis accelerometer, "fusioned" together to produce a stable and accurate bearing and orientation. If your drone is drifting or is otherwise unstable, you need to go through the calibration process as outlined in the manual. This calculates and programs the constants that the sensor fusion uses by detecting your local conditions. These constants will only work best in the area you ran the calibration, so if you go somewhere with significantly different geological conditions you''ll probably need to recalibrate to get good results from the sensors.
The clam shell case is just for shipping. The bag fits everything in it you need. Get your mom to arrange it for you, like she probably does with your sock draw!
I know you like the Spark very much, but you seem to say you would love it more if the price was 40% higher due to your extra / more refined features preferences. That would put the drone out of my price range/budget, so I’ll just be happy with it as-is....because, like you said, it is essentially a very fine entry level / travel use drone.
Ive watched many many many reviews. this by far is the best one ive seen 🙏🏻 . Been looking for a drone to have fun with and because of this video. ime getting a spark🙏🏻
Hi is kind of right about the bag. Stupid to include a nice foam box and it not fit in the bag with remote and everything else. Especially when they do not give you any added protection like gimbal or prop covers, etc.
You don't need to take the polystyrene box around with you. The drone fits in the bag perfectly, with 3 batteries, controllers and cables. Even some room for props, for the noobs. Don't dis the bag. It's as good as it gets.
The bagg. Is for putting the drone in!!! And the pockets are for the batteries!! The case you can throw away. They transported the drone in it to you!!
Hey man
That bag does suit your drone in and 3 batteries.....with the controller. and charger and the dock for 3 batteries. You just have to take all the parts outof the hard box. It's designed like that.
Tims liu exactly

Just make sure the props face the inside of the chassis and you should be all set... or you can get prop clips

Yeah, I guess I just am of the thought that if I have to go buy a bunch of stuff to make the bag work I might as well just buy a new case...
The carry case that comes with the Fly More Combo works great for the Spark, two extra batteries, cables and the controller. Take the Spark out of the clam shell it ships in and drop it in the case. It is perfect, Oh, please say three axis gimbal and not a five axis.
Isnt the Spark a 2 axis gimble, where say the Mavic Pro is a 3 axis gimble. Pretty sure that is the case, but agree.
Amos Pena yes the spark has a 2 axis gimble with a 3rd simulated axis.
Spark is a 2 axis drone u dum dum
everything fits in the shoulder bag. If you feel the props arent protected then take them out and use the designated pockets IN the dji bag to store thema long with spares, batteries, etc....

The box is only for shipping or storage. The bag fits everything in it, just not the box.
Wtf man... I where cargo shorts almost every day and they are the bomb... not outdated
+Jonathan Ogilvie haha sorry bro. You just keep on doing you!
Jonathan Ogilvie big pockets are a real man's purse. Cargo forever ! ;-)
Hahahaha
Been outdated lol
Hahahahha hahahahaha yes it’s outdated face it get some tight ass jeans
My Spark fly more package came with a tag on the carrying bag showing EXACTLY how to fit the drone and all the accessories in it.
Cargo shorts are NOT outdated.
Well...they ARE, but so are we! 😂 I am fine with wearing outdated clothing due to functionality and personal preference.
I had the same thought as you about the bag and the case, but I've found I like the bag a lot better actually. Smaller and easier to deal with, still protects the Spark really well, and carries all of the things you need for a day trip.

yea, it is really just the lack of protection that is my problem. I have bent a few props just using the bag...
this guy must be living with 5 dimensions if he's got 5 axis gimbals
Totally agree with you! I have it for 3 months and really is perfect you don't need more!
It's Great!
Some really good points. I still love my spark for all those same reasons.
+Richard Bignell it’s great right?
Hey Nathan. Great review. We got the point loud and clear about the Spark. Made me want to go out and buy one. I have 3 Solo's and one Mavic Pro I love to travel with. I also loved the honest mistakes. makes me realize that we all are human. Just loved it and thanks.

Great vid...how does the spark go in wind??? I am thinking of getting one but worried a gust of wind might take it. 👌👌👌
It does surprisingly well. I live in a pretty windy area and I have never had any problem with wind at all. It is impressive in wind.
I love my spark. People would be blown away with what this thing can do. It's so versatile, and the price has dropped so much. It's an amazing drone and perfect IMO as a first drone. You do realize the drone fits in the bag and has spots for batteries

There’s also no such thing as a five axis gimbal unless you’re capturing video in the fifth dimension
Just ordered one. I already lost an expensive drone so i'm so afraid to lose my spark. Is it easy to fly with or had any trouble returning it home. Thx. Good video
Kevin Schauwaers haven't had any trouble at all. Very easy to fly and return home has always worked great!
I love it. It is very practical and easy to use
Thanks for the review
I never owned a drone, would you recommend this one as a user friendly device for beginners?
And the combo?
Check the label attached on the strap on how you fit drone in it!
Good prospective on the micro SD! I don't have a phone that accepts those but I can see how that would be nice!
Great review Nathan thanks man, I am going to buy this little drone just for family holidays as I already have a phantom 3 pro for client work. what a little gem it is thanks for posting ;)
Think you are supposed to put it into tripod mode to get the slow horizontal pans, without the video juddering.
I have sifted through all the comments that primarily concern packing the bag, but cannot find the info on the micro usb adaptors and where to get them.
With the drone bag there should be a tag attached showing you the layout to put your controller and drone in the bag
im still on my first month with the spark, so far so good
You can fit the spark in the bag with the remote with the propeller folded
Other than the bag talk this was good. There is literally a tag on the strap of the bag that shows you how everything fits in the bag. i was even able to fit the flat 3 battery charger on the top.
Can I edit the footage i record on it i want to use it for music video's? Also stupid question can u change the camera?
Very agree your point about SD Card and the stupid small bag is not fit the charger and other cables. Good feedback man.
How quiet is the spark compared to the new mavic platinum ? What is the battery charge time?
it has 2-axis gimbal, 3-axis gimbal would help (one more extra pan axis)
If you want to store the spark in the included bag, you have to take it out the hard bag!!! I fit my spark with 3 batteries and the controller in the bag included
Great review, thanks Nathan
+Matthew Smith of course! Thank you for the kind words 👍🏼
Thx for the review. I hope you repeat this every 3 months. That would be very useful. I understand the sd card problem - thos damn Neanderthal genes. How many hours do you have on the drone?
lol. I sure will repeat. I have a new video coming soon about a must have accessory!
Im in Boise too..great job..I got a spark Thursday..
I agree totally with every one of your gripes!
+Grimm Day pretty small in reality but a few things that bother me
Good job.... I also like the sound track.
+Bruce Toney thanks bro!
Get a small pill box from drugstore to hold the tiny SD cards so you don't loose them and store in the soft pack from DJI, along with Spark after you take it out of hard pack.
Thomas Gasbeck lose
vashon 100 When they are loose they are easy to lose.
Todd I know the difference, but he doesn't.
A lot of people make this same mistake, just like "your" when they mean "you're".
9:25 YOU AREN'T SUPPOSED TO PUT THE BOX INTO THAT BAG... omg...
A very good review! Thanks a lot! It seems that there are a lot of good points compared to the not good points.
Alessandro & Federica Sposi thank you! Yes I really love it overall. Very impressed!
Yeah, battery life. Other than that I can fly this little bird without getting those "spy" stares.
everything fits in the bag, just not the box, but the box is perfect for my tello
I've turned mine off mid record and it still had the video. Maybe this has been fixed in a firmware update
Interesting, mine still corrupts the video if the Spark is turned-off before doing it in software.
Maybe I need to check my updates.
Nice review. I learned a lot from both the review and the comments. I also have lost video by forgetting to turn off the video recording before turning off the Spark. However, I have learned from these prior comments that I can recover the video as well as transfer the video straight to my computer without removing the microSD card. Good to know! Like you, I love my Spark but I do agree that getting a gimbal cover and controller joysticks cover is well worth the investment.
i totally agree with the bag size problem
it may be in the comments but i dont want to troll thru them lol, if you ever turn the machine off without stopping recording the way you get back your footage is just put the card back in the machiune start recording and then stop recording, shazam your footage is there complete
wow! I had no clue. that is great info. thanks!
Did not know that either. Might test.
THE BAG IS FOR THE DRONE AND REMOTE. the 2 slots is for the 2 batteries. I only use the hard case of I'm traveling. The bag I uses around town
If you look at the label on the bag, it actually shows how to pack the drone, controller, cables, charger, and spare batteries into the dji bag. Just ditch the plastic box, the bag is all you need.
Great review man
I agree the bag should be able to fit the box since the drone itself doesn't come with a gimbal cover and other protection accessories
I owned a Tello drone and what I did with that is used a gym bag and put the drone with it's box in there and that was my cart case worked perfectly
But yeah great review nice and easy to understand and seems real genuine 😊
Nice! Maybe I get one. Im flying with MP and before was Phantom 4-2 lol.
It sure is handy to have a smaller one for certain occasions
+KennyLee NYC you will love it! Great drone!
Great vid - I share your enthusiasm about the Spark!
Awesome vid, thanks for posting!!!
Does it say anything about low-temperature tolerance?
Are u using your own adjustment as far as camera settings or stay in auto mode??
Great review. Thanks for posting....
+Bravo1Xray thank you!
Cool review, however i disagree with you on your frustration with the Micro SD, you can use one of those SD Micro SD cases, where you can carry up to 24 of them in that case without risking loosing them.
Big fingers (like mine), hard to get that card out of the bird without fumbling. Thats what he was talking about.
I think u can leave the card in on the spark and I have a back pack anyway
I wish!
Great review, thanks for the info.
Ok, I got to 2:24 in your video, I'm out!
Ive watched many many many reviews. this by far is the best one ive seen 🙏🏻 . Been looking for a drone to have fun with and because of this video. ime getting a spark🙏🏻
Are you videos enhanced? Did you up up-res them?
Also, don't forget to try Tripod Mode when going from side to side and get good cinematic shots.
You can offload the camera content straight from the drone. Just connect to a computer.
What about windy days?
+Mario Benites I haven't had any problems with wind. I have flown it a few times in fairly windy conditions and it has handled just fine.
Hi is kind of right about the bag. Stupid to include a nice foam box and it not fit in the bag with remote and everything else. Especially when they do not give you any added protection like gimbal or prop covers, etc.
I love Cargo shorts. Not outdated. They are for real men.
5 axis gimbal - you sir won the Nobel prize in linear algebra :D
Correction: the gimbal on the Spark is 2 axis.
True!
What should I get Mavic pro plat of mavic air?
Dont u think 30fps is less than enough, I notice some glitchey video in paning.
+Karan Kohli I haven’t played with the FPS much to be honest. I should though!
You don't need to take the polystyrene box around with you. The drone fits in the bag perfectly, with 3 batteries, controllers and cables. Even some room for props, for the noobs. Don't dis the bag. It's as good as it gets.
The gimbal is just tilt cause your in sportsmode and it says that in sports mode the gimbal is not availibal
True!
The bagg. Is for putting the drone in!!! And the pockets are for the batteries!! The case you can throw away. They transported the drone in it to you!!
