Scott Thank you for honoring my friend with this amazing video. Scott even if you cant come on a tour would love to meet with you and say hello maybe get some coffee or tea or something
I grew up here, and saw River play at the Hard Back Café a lot (a friend of mine owned the place and we would watch him rehearse and set up his guitars); one of my high school friends played violin in the band. His entire family was ALWAYS at the shows including Summer, Rain, and Leaf (Joaquin, who was always stoned). One night I was walking to my car and found him alone, sitting on some steps, crying silently. I asked him if he was ok, and he said "yeah", and I just left him in peace (or so I thought...) He was quiet, polite, and very, very intense.
My 1st 'love'..I still cry over this loss. I remember the moment, place, and what I was doing when I heard he was gone. Thank you so much for this. -Forever young. So hard to think of him as 49.. I often wonder what he'd think of what's happened to the world.
Unbelievable that it's been 30 years since he died. I think that was a profound statement made about River , that he cared more about the environment and other people then himself. That is so sad to me because he basically put poison in his body and robbed every one of such a beautiful talented human being. He had a sadness about himself. Of course my favorite movie is Stand By Me. RIP RIVER
River would be so proud of his little brother winning his much deserved Oscar for portraying the Joker. Joaquin honored his brother with that beautiful lyric he wrote 'Run to the rescue with love and peace with follow'. ❤
My first teen crush. River was a beautiful person. It is such a shame he passed so young. In 1997 (around then) my girl friends and I took a trip up to the Viper room with the Cotton Mouth Kings. Part nightmare, part adventure. I was 19 and went in with the band. Dare not order anything. I ended up sneaking out the side and wondered around in the front. I bawled my eyes out. RIP River!
I was born in 95, two years after River's passing. At 25 I'm discovering this jewel of a human being: talented actor and a wonderful person. Dogfight is my favourite as of now.
Scott, thank you for making this video. My sister kept River's pictures all over our bedroom. His face was literally the first thing I saw in the morning and the last thing at night. I wasn't a fan, but he died so young, and you made this video with sensitivity. Brian seems like a really nice Christian man with a beautiful southern accent.
I'm a 80s kid. I was so in love with River. He is the reason I'm a vegetarian & animal advocate. He was here for a purpose & that purpose touched me. Forever. That is a special soul when you can do that in so few years. 💜

Something about the Post Office Location resonates with me and the beautiful simplicity of towns like these. I hope everyone finds Peace , Love , Healing and Joy wherever it may come from especially during these difficult times ❤️
The River Phoenix building was originally my family doctor’s office throughout the 1970’s and 1980’s. I did get to see his band several times at the Hardback and other locations around town.
I just did all the Gainesville area parts and my family and I ate at the Boca fiesta. And I went to the Post Office in Micanopy.thanks man! That post office had such a cool vibe to it so peaceful

Huge huge huge huge FAN of River 💖💖😞❣️😢😢😭. Bless him Bless you for doing this video. River ....gone too soon & was legendary in his own time - but I believe he would have become one of those all-time classic actors - a true legend; such talent from him beyond words. Sorely missed in a big way. Bet you’re enjoying Heavens Band right now. River - thinking of you - Rest In Peace. ❤️❤️❤️🦋
I think he was definitely on his way to becoming one of the all time greats. I mean look at his brother, it obviously runs in the family. Such a tragic youthful loss. He will always be one of my favorite actors of all time. His performance in "Running on Empty" crushes me every single time I revisit it. Awesome video, thanks for making this.
Wow.. Scott, good vid, I'll look this up,as I live but a stone's throw away from all those locations,as I am a resident of Gainesville FL, it's great that you did this.
I just found your Channel, and I'm so excited I did! I've watched a couple of your videos but can't wait to get home and binge-watch lol...Ihave about 10 that I'm dying to see right now! I absolutely love your Channel new subscriber
Thank you, guys! Wow! I had no idea his connection to Gainesville. I'm heading to St. Augustine's post-Covid and look forward to checking out the sites you mentioned, in the city only. You did a wonderful job covering their home and why they love it there, with so much serenity. I recently watched a very rare interview by Anderson Cooper with his mom and siblings talking about River and how much they know he is still with them, till this day. Appreciate learning about his FL ties.
An Excellent video Scott. I found the gates you showed with a little searching and the trees where River's ashes are scattered. The blue and red recycle boxes are still shown...I find it awesome his family still lives there and owns the property that River cherished. I have all the respect in the world for River's parents and family. I wish them all well and may God bless them all.
Indigo is named after Liberty Phoenix baby that she lost when he was a little over a year old. Supposedly they said it was because of allergies in the flooring that couldn't make him breath good. Which lead her to start the "Indigo" company for go green homes. I feel bad for her losing her son so young but then her brother also. That family went through a lot of crap.
Seen all your videos Scott. Seem to miss this one. Just watched it. Loved River Phoenix. As always! Great video Scott. I also commented on your last video that was the Dawn of the Dead filming locations. Take care scott.

@Lisa Surlie there is a lot I want to say to you but River taught me to treat EVERYONE with love and respect... even if they didn't deserve it! So I'll leave it at this... Rio did not make you do anything! NO ONE could cause another human to do drugs! Had you known Riv you would have known what an amazing, loving, compassionate, sweet soul he was! Please DO NOT EVER disrespect River or his family by spewing this bullshit! I'll pray for you and hope that you find the peace you DESPERATELY NEED! I'll always love you Rio 🖤 A beautiful soul that god knew was too good for this world 😇
@Lisa Surlie ok I'm trying to understand all of this. Soooo what you're telling me is... River went purchased drugs for you, brought them to you, and physically put them into your body? Is that what you are telling me? I just want to be crystal clear here...

Hi Scott .. Thanks for posting this video. I adored River Phoenix and told my husband the next time we visit Florida I’m taking a trip to Micanopy after watching your video. This was our first visit since the pandemic and two weeks ago took a trip to Micanopy. Now I know why River called this home .. Thanks Scott ❤️🇬🇧
Another great video Scott, and I really liked Bryan's contributions, he has a quiet dignity about him. River Phoenix's death was such a tragic loss, and you can't help wondering what further greatness, he would have gone on to achieve, had he lived?
Excellent video! I’m watching Stand By Me, so I took a pause to see some interviews of River, and this video popped up. I’ve seen it before, since I’m a subscriber. I was in LA a couple weeks ago, and went by the Viper Room to catch a few more photos and to remember that horrific night. Soon they’ll be demolishing it. RIP RP

Thank u for this beautiful video. So much love and respect to River. Miss him every single day💖💙🤍
I am from the 60s,and River Phoenix was not only a great actor, but an amazing soul. He lived for the good of everything.
I just did all the Gainesville area parts and my family and I ate at the Boca fiesta. And I went to the Post Office in Micanopy.thanks man!
That post office had such a cool vibe to it so peaceful
Thank you so much for posting this video! It is done in such a wonderful, heartfelt, and respectful way. River was such a beautiful soul and being able to see some of the places he held dear is an amazing experience.
River Phoenix such a talented guy, so sad he passed so young😢 Rest In Peace 🦋
Excellent Scott!! Another trip down with you! Thank you dollface! :-) Brian, so much respect for you as well. Look to the Lord in all things.
My two favorite 80’s - 90’s actors are Corey Haim and River Phoenix.
Thank you Scott for taking the trip to show us where River is resting. ❤️
Great vlog Scott! You always make things so personable - love it!
Wow.. Scott, good vid, I'll look this up,as I live but a stone's throw away from all those locations,as I am a resident of Gainesville FL, it's great that you did this.
Such a talented young man. A big loss ❤️
You did a great job on this video, was so nicely done. R.I.P River
I really enjoyed this video. Been to Gainesville many times but never knew this was the home of River. Thanks Scott !
Thank you Steve !!
This was such a horrible situation 😢 You did a amazing job ❤️
This is one of the best River tribute videos that I have ever seen.... Thank you so much for the way you presented and handled it.
My own private Idaho is still one of my favorite rmovies of all time

Thank you so much Scott and to Brian too, for all that you did in this video. I hope that everyone will respect River and his family, as we all should. Your video is a wonderful dedication to River, with great respect. I love the fact that you have so much love and respect for the people you film about and the places you go. You ROCK!!!! You both did an awesome job...And I was so happy to hear Brian's love for Jesus Christ...Love you both...:)
Great video Scott!! RIP River!! Gone too soon!! He was a great actor!! Stand by me was my favorite movie!! He was great in it!! Your friend Bryan is a sweet man!! Love you and your videos my friend!! Take care!! 💙💙💖💖❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏🌺🌺🌺🥰🥰✌️✌️✌️✌️😢😢😢
Great job Scott and Brian. Beautifully done! ❤❤❤
Love this video. I've seen the signs for Micanopy when I've driven through Gainesville. Never had the time to stop and see the property. Would be cool to stay there now that I know it's an airbnb!
I loved River so much I just could not finish watching this video tears were just flowing so happy birthday to River
Super nice video Scott 👍
Good lord he really had me crying at the end. Thank you to him for providing such a personal touch to this. It truly means more than he knows. This was a wonderful video.
Hi Scott .. Thanks for posting this video. I adored River Phoenix and told my husband the next time we visit Florida I’m taking a trip to Micanopy after watching your video. This was our first visit since the pandemic and two weeks ago took a trip to Micanopy. What a charming place and I’ve got to say, got a lump in my throat when I stood by the tree in front of the post office. The people were so friendly and the place is so peaceful. Now I know why River called this home .. Thanks Scott ❤️🇬🇧
River is still so missed dearly!!! Love you River. May you always rest easy!!
Thank you!!! Wonderful video!!
Forever River!!
1993 was a real sad year for me Brandon Lee and River Phoenix both passed away that year, so young so talented 💔❤️
One of my crushes growing up,and Corey Haim being the other.Rip to both of them! Thanks for honoring River Phoenix!
Same
Thank you Scott. Just Thank You so much.💙💙💙💙
You’re welcome Mary
Another great video Scott, and I really liked Bryan's contributions, he has a quiet dignity about him. River Phoenix's death was such a tragic loss, and you can't help wondering what further greatness, he would have gone on to achieve, had he lived?
Very quiet dignity indeed. Brian is a wonderful person. Thank you for watching ✌🏽✌🏽
What a beautiful piece of land. A family with great taste for sure. Always loved River Phoenix R.I.P. River.
I just watched this for the first rime. Brian was great. I loved the way he talks. He said some wonderful things at the end.
YOU BOTH SHOWED GREAT RESPECT FOR RIVER. THANK YOU SO MUCH.
RIP RP
It’s crazy because his brother Joaquin Phoenix is one of my fan actors in fact ... really good actor too but I’ve always loved River Phoenix!! He had a lot of siblings Rain Phoenix I think has a unique beauty...they seem to be doing pretty good but I feel Joaquin Phoenix has a deep connection with his lost brother
