What's going on my friends?!? SeanPierceJohnson here and welcome to my review and demo of the Framus Guitars D-Series Diablo Pro. What exactly is this guitar? Personally, I feel like it is the best combination of a Super Strat and a SG. Heavy yet snappy. Glassy yet warm. Don't believe me??? Just watch and you'll see.
Thank you to Framus and Warwick for loaning this instrument to me for this demo.

Man, I totally love this guitar!!! I bought it about a year ago for the equivalent of $500 USD here in Mexico (where I live) and it is just plain awesome. Its versatility surprises me each time, it can play everything from surf to metal and its super comfortable to play. 5/5!
thanks been waiting on a demo of these for awhile now. this is on my to try list now.
glad you enjoyed my friend! thanks for watching.
Enjoyed the review, not many out there for the Framus D-Series. I've been thinking about the D-Series Phil XG, but kind of scared because can't judge the quality (as you could with other brands that come out of S Korea or Indonesia. If the body and neck are really good, I would do it and then do the upgrades that Phil McKnight did on one of the XG sharpen my axe video. Anyway, thanks for sharing the review!!!
glad you dug it Brian. i understand your feelings...hard to buy a guitar when you have no experience with the brand
this model is back on sale on thomann in 2024 and its only 350euros it says its a lime body not bass wood so maybe its a updated version every other spec is the same .
this video was made in 2018 so yes it's possible the specs have changed
Most tremolo issues are due to upper saddle issues, meaning a a bad choice of material or poorly filed string slots.
SPJ is one of the MOST underrated gear channels on RUclips! Don't believe me? You feel like complaining? I hope you're brave enough to @ me bro! Thanks for another great lesson Sean!
At the risk of fanboying idc, @ 12:12 that is a sweet sound. That neck pickup sounds so full and dreamy. Id love to take that tone for a spin thru ALL the pedals for tones lol. Im dying to know the stats for that pickup, whats the output, what kind of magnets etc.?
brooooooo......comments like these are what makes all this shit worthwhile. the pickup btw is a Seymour Duncan Cool Rails. Check it out! Great pickup
Cool guitar but it just never seems to get bright enough. That cool rail, even split is so dark, no creamy strat neck pickup tone.
no, i doesn't get exceedingly bright...and I don't think any split/tapped humbuckers will ever truly get a single coil sound.
I think you might be the first person i've heard describe the strat neck pickup as creamy...i always hear glassy.
I love it 😍
thanks! i like it too
15:31 I discovered the term "wiggle stick" for a whammy bar recently, it tickled me so I think that's what I'm sticking with now.
i like that one! isn't that what Gearmanndude calls it???
@@SeanPierceJohnson Oh, perhaps. I've not looked at his channel for a while. I'll have to see what he's up to now :)
Gorgeous guitar!! Just need to put locking tuners on it then perfect!!
The Framus tuners are very stable and accurate. No need to replace them... just my opinion.
@@brunojacq5473 awesome thanks!! I've never had locking tuners just had it constantly told that you need locking tuners
yeah man, like Bruno said locking tuners are not necessary and a good set is just gonna be an extra expense on top of a guitar that quite frankly doesn't need them.
the whammy bar stayed in tune, the tuners didn't slip during the demo...call it a day. don't listen to everyone on the internet...just me ;)
but seriously, thanks for watching buddy!
@@SeanPierceJohnson thanks Sean wise as always!!@
@@SeanPierceJohnson do you know where to buy these guitars in the U.S. ? I've never heard of this brand
What's going on?
Weather is cloudy, evening.
Wow! 10 years of demos and you’re the only person to ACTUALLY tell me what’s going on!
I brought a d series panthera. The finish quality when I received it was absolutely terrible. They filled chips out of the side of the fret board with resin. And frets finish short of neck edge in a few places. And neck joint really chopped. So much for the 'framus quality control' . I was really disappointed considering what everyone says
That’s really a shame man. This was never my experience with any Framus I played. Wonder if things have just gone downhill in recent years…I dunno
I'm blown away by this Framus but it seems pricey for a Chinese guitar when you could get a Burney, or Tokai for about the same price, great channel, keep up the great work!
thanks man! really appreciate the kind words. I have found these for around $699 depending on the shop. Framus is still slowly filtering into the US at the moment so it's hard to pin down a 100% exact price. I've checked out two Chinese-made instruments from Framus and Warwick and they both have played great, sounded great and felt solid.
At the end of the day, I could care less where it's made as long as the controlling company does the work to maintain consistent quality.
@@SeanPierceJohnson That's very cool, I really like the guitar, 3 pickups cover it nicely for me! 😁
She got some chug
indeed she does
