Really appreciate this episode this is amazing not just the finds but the man is such a truly wonderful person to hear from and learn about. Especially learning about his daughters car and seeing it in the world it’s beautifully stock which is rare so this is pretty awesome. Can’t wait to see what comes from your new found friendship the man is pretty legendary with a really respectable reputation behind him just like yourself Slipping Time. & congratulations on 1000 subscribers let’s go brother so proud and appreciative of you!!!
Exactly man real pleasure to watch them and see them I’m just lucky one sits in my garage or id Be dam unhappy. But not miserable ya know like the unhappy desire of wanting something like billy in where the red fern grows.
I have a 91 GSX in my garage that hasn't been started since 2010 and hasn't left the garage since 2004 if anyone is interested... Edit: Great video! I learned a lot working on these cars.
@@SlippingTime to answer a question you asked in the video. I'm not into electronics, but I've worked in IT since I was 19. But my love for these cars is basically the motor. I bought a 2003 Evo8 new off the lot and later got hooked on my buddies 91 Talon when he started dipping into the 11's.
@@PubeStache yea, a lot of tech people are into these cars from the beginning to now. It’s why there was the early adopters on sharing information for modding these cars back when the internet was in its infancy.
What's an old car without a story? Great episode, really enjoyed it. Context is everything, refreshing to hear another DSM'r talking about how mind blowing they were when they were new and shiny. Nicely done, looking forward to seeing and hearing more about the treasures scattered around his yard like that 150/152.
I actually just bought a 1990 eagle Talon TSI myself, dude parked it up 10 years ago and now I have it, it doesn’t start and now he says it has a fuel issue.
@@mingotrd it’s true not one video game can add the 3 sister car to it how hard is it to model a first generation eagle talon, Plymouth laser and Mitsubishi eclipse. Don’t get me started on the earlier generation of the evo and can we get the Mitsubishi Galant VR-4 like come on it’s disappointing
@@mingotrd Maybe but who knows I just hate that most old cars will disappear because of how rare they are and moving with the times. With a game, I want to play with my love and connection to automobiles but without the love for DSM’s cars in video games it’s like losing a part of myself. And as a walking car dictionary the scale of vehicles in forza between the various manufactures is pathetic and quite randomly generated
I appreciate and thank you 🙏 for the early support EyeRick. I will do my best to continue with interesting content for all of you that gave me a chance early on.
How the heck did the bellhousing break on a completely stock car? Must have hit something in the road or taking it off some sweet jumps... That car looks like an excellent candidate for a restoration, though!
Similar story to the one I had, 147K kms and motor had already been blown up and rebuilt. Then the transmission and just about everything else went on it like dominos. Worst car for a broke 20-something to own, man they were bad.
@@SlippingTime Its too bad because it was super clean, black Tsi AWD 5-speed. I remember after replacing it, it felt weird having a car that didnt break every 2 weeks lol. Speaking of high dollar examples I know a guy with one that only has 20,000 original km or something, all original and mint.
You are doing the lords work saving these cars ! We can’t let them die !
Yes, too many have already been crushed so we need to resurrect any remaining ones when we find them that is for sure.

What a honor to have you restore this talon for this awesome dsm owner 👍
It should be a fun one and it comes with a great story too!

There certainly will be more of the car and other stuff in the yard. You are very close on the Cessna 150/152. Good eye!
Bigger front springs to raise the front haha!

That sounds familiar. Best of luck on your project.

Great question on the bell housing. If the car could talk it would have a great story I am sure.
Do you sell them I want one
I have sold some. Currently have one in Bring A Trailer. bringatrailer.com/listing/1998-mitsubishi-eclipse-gsx-2/
Check out that timing belt out first
Yes. In the video it is the first thing I peak at to see if it worth bringing home. 😀
