- Hey All. Welcome to the next episode in our van build series. Today we are finally starting to put together our electrical system…and the first thing we will need to do is properly ground the negative bus bar to the vehicle chassis. This is needed to keep the electrical system working smoothly and safely.
We start by discussing why grounding is even needed….and what it really means. The we will take you step-by-step through the tools we use and the procedure we follow to properly ground the house electrical system.
If you have any questions, please feel free to leave a comment below, and please give a thumbs-up if you enjoyed this video and found in helpful to you. Subscribe to our channel to follow along on our entire van build series.
Blessings to you
Marc and Tania

I miss y’all’s videos… but I keep coming back to your vids as I encounter that part of my build. Another super helpful video. Thank you… and COME BACKKKKKKKK
We are so glad the videos are helpful....keep trying to get back to RUclips....but life keeps throwing us curve balls. :)
Yay!!! My dad and I are researching the electrical stuff so this is perfect timing :))
*TO ADD: You two are so generous in your videos in teaching/showing how to do all this stuff, it's greatly appreciated!! Another enjoyable video, you guys are so much fun⭐😁🌟Thank you for adding the items in the description too 🙏🏼✨ Can't wait to see the next one with Tania's painting👍🏻🌷
Thanks so much for your kind support. We try to make these things as educational as we can....
Woah, two videos in one week! I can’t wait to see the rest of the van. This was the one and only thing I had someone else do for me- when my mechanic installed my inverter ( decided not to with DC/DC even though I know the inverter is not as efficient), he put a big fat beautiful ground to my chassis. If I had seen this before, maybe I would have attempted it but I’d rather leave electricity to the pros. 12 v little stuff I can handle myself 😊
Look at you go Tania! You’re so brave! And Marc, you should have been a teacher. ❤
Thanks so much for the vid. Well done!! my first visit here. I will be back for more.
Awesome! Thank you!
Did I miss where you actually connect it to the chassis? Saw the connection to the bus bar. Thank you for sharing. Hope all is well.
Its been a while so I cant recall....but we just bolted it to a spot on the frame after we scratched off the paint. To be sure we did a continuity test between the bus bar and the negative terminal of the battery to make sure the connection was good.
Great job, folks! Just FYI none of the "links" in the info section are working links
Do you have a shore power connection? Did you ground it to the chassis as well?
Yes we do. We actually use it all the time. The shore power connects to the inverter/charger, which is grounded to the chassis. The inverter then connects to the negative bus, which is also grounded.
So what if I don't have a dc to dc wire how would i check if I have a good ground connection?
I think you can check any point by checking for resistance between that point at the negative terminal of the battery
Not that yalls videos are bad now. but I got to tell you they were much better before the HOA pulled their bullstiff. I enjoyed watching pre HOA now I just watch to help a small channel grow i hope.
Well it certainly was easier to work on the van in a more relaxed environment. Now, its just a lot of running back and forth anytime we want to do a little bit of work. Any thoughts on what made them better before? We would love to be able to improve them.
