To me honest I feel that the casting is perfect Walker Aryan and Leah fit there roles perfectly

walker and leah and aryan and all the cast are meant for that role. they all fit it so well especially walker as percy. they are so amazing. don’t doubt them.

Ive seen some channels like one called "the anti-woke reviewer" complain about how the cast is bad and how they made a mistake making Annabeth black and I mean you can tell by their username why they would say dumb stuff like that. And whats worse is they post videos hating on the show to make rage bait and get their like minded followers some of them being fans of the book who hate the cast. Ive seen them getting so triggered from this show its kind of funny especially when everybody else loves the show.
Well it's a good thing fans and random RUclips channels aren't in charge of casting for actual productions. Let's leave it to the professionals and casting directors

@@nicholas4727 WILLING SUSPENSION OF DISBELIEF. They don't have to fit it perfectly, the actors do a great job and at least they didn't use the movie actors for this one and change the plot like 10 times. Rick selected these people himself and clearly knew what he was doing.
I always imagined Jack Black as Mr. D whenever I read the books. Honestly, he would have been a perfect cast!

The casting is not random, Rick riordan literally chose them himself. They actors may not look like the characters, but they for sure have the same personality. That’s really all that matters

I think Walker is pretty perfect for the role, as are several others, but I as good as I think this show is, there are so disappointments about it that I don't like- Soem of the wierd changes to the scenes, some cutting of certain events, and a few casting choices I really don't like. But beyond that, it's a good show.
Annabeth is doing fine as an overall, but it is alittle offputting to see a blonde hair blue/gray eyed book character be portrayed by her. Aside from that im happy with the way shes playing annabeth well. all those years of reading the books i had a pretty solid idea of how i imagined Annabeth looking off descriptions in the novels
Well said. Leah can't help not looking like Annabeth. So it's nothing against her. But we all had an image of Annabeth in our heads. And I am always scared they will use a race-swap as an opportunity to politicize a narrative.
@@reviewcentral8406 first of all, it actually does bother me that they didn't die his hair so... yeah. But as for his eyes, well blue and green are at least close and both ocean-y colors. But actually one of my complaints with the show was that Percy in the first 4 episodes didn't feel quite like Percy (like he was just more subdued and less witty).
So far, all of the cast feel like the perfect choice for their character 😍 There isn’t a single one that doesn’t feel like it just makes sense. They feel genuine. Like they literally fell out of the book
I’ve never read the books so I don’t have any preconceptions about how the characters look, but I feel like the casting in this show is perfect.
Toby Stephens (Poseidon) is one of the UK's best and most respected actors. He and Walker make a very believable and likable father son duo

I honestly feel like Alexandra Daddario would be really good at portraying Athena. I’d love to see it happen but it most likely won’t.
I think it's better that way. Considering how much of a failure the movies were, I think all the actors involved would prefer to distance themselves from the franchise as a whole. It's not their fault. They just got into a bad project.
Could work but it won’t and shouldn’t happen. In the third book, Percy recognises Athena straight away because she looks like Annabeth so Athena in this series needs to be a black woman.

Yep. Most book authors involved with film adaptations will concede teeny changes, like eye color, but what I don't like about Rick's choice is that he took the time to create appearances for them in the books, and then he tells us "appearance doesn't matter". He's acting like it's our fault for reading his books and believing him when he described his characters. What gremlins we are to think the characters from his books should look like how he said they looked in his books 🙄. It's unprofessional at the very least.
@@JJ_6036 im not actually worried or mad that some of the charachters arent their white counterparts, i wa only saying its different after years of the books and web novel renditions showing us different then what they gave us in the tv show, out side of appearance ive had no complaints about the show. ive even been happy that they are speeding up the first book since weve already gotten 2 movies and wasted enough time waiting. Hopefully they slow down alittle for what hasnt been adapted yet, but ive enjoyed PJtLT

Its unprofessional because the book author both wrote the book character descriptions and is also making the show, which makes his characters shape-shifters since they differ. Both versions are canonically correct, but they differ. Wtf are we supposed to do with that? Unprofessional. Plain and simple.

Granted the book described Percy as having black hair, I appreciated the change. Walker did a great job. Not a perfect adaptation, but I enjoyed it. As much as I liked Finn Wolfhard in It, Ghostbusters, and Stranger Things, and more independent movies, I think being in this would have been too many big roles. He would probably have been good in it, but too recognizable from his other roles. Still, I could be wrong, but that is my initial thought.

You do post some crap, the trio is perfect, Rick made it very clear he was not having any cross overs at all, the gods in the series are fantastic, the trio is fantastic what's to debate.
