Medusa is my favorite moment. I disagree with #10. After all, Walker may’ve been 14 and Percy is 12; but come on, you can’t have actors b exactly the same age as their characters. They just have to look and match the part. Same thing goes with nationality, e.g. ancient Greek movies must have Greek born actors or heritage. Being the same all the way through is asking/demanding too much. Just looked the part for age, and pull off a good accent.
For number one, it may not have been as rushed as the movie, but I still felt the TV show was a bit rushed as well. The book has 22 chapters, but there’s only eight episodes. I was hoping it would be a chapter an episode, so they could flush out the entire chapter But it seems like they shove 2 to 3 chapters per episode The season only having eight episodes seems very short But keep in mind, I’m used to having like 22 episodes per season The season ended like two months after it premiered Especially with the episodes only being like an average of half an hour long, whole thing could be watched in four hours

This Percy was waaay to serious (compaired to the book Percy), and Grover and Annabeth here were forgetable. After the series, I started to appreciate the movie so much more. I'd say both adaptations have their advantages, but neither one is truly good.
Sadly, they are doing a great job. I just wish they could do the same thing for the Witcher on Netflix because of them not going through the book on the Witcher. That is why Henry Cavill is leaving. 😠
While I don't love that they race swapped a lot of characters and got some looks wrong I'm willing to put that aside for an overall more accurate adaptation of the books. I thought it was a great series I hope that they make more seasons. I do hope that the humor improves though it was meh in the first season
Me personally, I was pretty disappointed with this series. I love the books, but I felt they weren't near as faithful to the source material as they claimed. It may have been a little bit more faithful than the movies, but it definitely wasn't as accurate as it should've been. They changed so many things from the book that felt completely unnecessary. They added a lot of storylines and plot points that weren't in the book, which made zero sense. I was pretty bored watching during almost every episode. There were so many moments from the book that I loved and was so excited to see them in the show. But they severely changed pretty much all of the them and it honestly ruined the show for me. The ending was unsatisfying for me, overall this did not feel like a proper adaptation of the book. I really tried to like it, but I feel it wasn't near as good as it could've been. I would rate this series 5/10.
The books are perfect and well adapted in my mind. I hate Disney projects. Since they bought MARVEL, LUCASFILM, and FOX, and ruined their animated movie which horrible remakes; this show has no expetites for me.
Amazing video ms mojo of the difference between Percy Jackson movies and tv show, fantastic job. Somewhat kind of enjoy the series but feels something off about the series hurt to point my finger on,likes it woke or something. Not give hope that this series will get a second season or not because of Disney track record of cancellation stuff that fit in there boat.
I’m not trying to be that guy, but Annabeth is a white girl not a black girl, but I’m just gonna leave it at that big fan of the book series. I personally like the movies the second one was kind of garbage though.
@@Uncle_SmidgeAnnabeth is described as “almost exactly what I thought a stereotypical California girl would look like”. I believe the original intent was for Annabeth to be a white blonde girl with intimidating grey eyes. Not to say Leah Sava Jeffries isn’t doing a good job as Annabeth because she is but she doesn’t fit how Percy describes Annabeth’s looks.
First… of all, yuck. Hope they don’t renew it for a second season. Disney ruins everything, and I no longer like Rick Riordan. The casting has made me realize that a cartoon would’ve been better, because the humor would work MUCH better, not to mention the fact that they’d have no reason to not make the characters look the way they’re supposed to. It’s FUCKING BULLSHIT.
@@ellesce I hated it. I don’t care. Rick Riordan is a sell out. This isn’t Percy Jackson and the Olympians, it’s JASON GRACE and the Olympians, either his love interest Hazel Levesque. I hope it doesn’t get renewed and we get a cartoon reboot instead. Unlikely, but I’d rather have that chance than this GARBAGE getting a second season.
The movies are way better! Biggest reason : the casting. The movies had way more star power and were also a better fit to the characters. In the series, most casting was so cringe and forced woke. Poseidon got an old duchebag actor, Zeus is black and Hades casting was so dull and boring compared to Steeve Coogan. It would been way better if there was a 3rd. and 4th. Percy movie then to have this unnecessary Disney cash grab series ruined by the cursed woke Zeitgeist.
Pull the plug, it’s the crappier than the movies. They just had to blackwash Annabeth and Grover. Why do they always have to race swap certain characters??? Rick is really disrespecting his own source material.
Rick is worst than a fool, he’s a fool…ish sellout. Disney ruined this book series. I no longer like nor respect him anymore. Percy is NOT blonde and blue eyed, and Annabeth is NOT black; that’s just a FACT. Not to mention Grover (to be fair though, I though Brandon T Jackson in the crappy film was highlight; he was comedic, cockier, and I liked him better than the book character), Chiron, and Clarrise. Ugh. What’s next? White Beckendorf? Hispanic Selena? White Leo? Will Hazel be the opposite of Sarah and be WHITE WITH BLONDE HAIR? A cartoon would’ve been better.
@@BenE8844FACTS 💯. Rick has disrespected his own source material what a joke. Keep in mind this is what the Harry Potter movies could’ve been like if the author didn’t respect their own source material.

Annabeth was meant to be blonde though
I like the movie and I hope I like the tv show
While I don't love that they race swapped a lot of characters and got some looks wrong I'm willing to put that aside for an overall more accurate adaptation of the books. I thought it was a great series I hope that they make more seasons. I do hope that the humor improves though it was meh in the first season
Yes the show wasn’t the exact same as the book but I feel like it did it justice at the very least the show wasn’t an embarrassment like the movies
Cool
No offense 10 ways Percy Jackson actually got the source material wrong and it keeps annoying me
Me personally, I was pretty disappointed with this series.
That is not Percy Jackson and Annabeth, that is JASON GRACE AND HAZEL LEVESQUE.
You're not a Percy Jackson fan, you're a racist.
So a Sea Nymph gives him The Perals to escape The Underworld and you think that is better then it being Hadeses actual Wife....alrighty then.
It’s a pearl which makes you return to the SEA. Of course it’s a sea creature who gives it to him.
@@nikolajhallengren4279 But it also helps you escape The Underworld but it puts you in The Ocean hmm i guess it could work both ways.
@@rodan9773 Yeah. I guess it could
The show felt kind of rushed
Crazy how they replaced Percy with a mini-Apollo and Annabeth with a black girl.
I did not like this show at all. My biggest issue is that the acting wasn't good, and the writing/dialogue is sometimes hella cringey
Grover actor would have been a better Percy Jackson.
I’m not trying to be that guy, but Annabeth is a white girl not a black girl, but I’m just gonna leave it at that big fan of the book series. I personally like the movies the second one was kind of garbage though.
She can be both.
Where is she required to be white in the book?
@@Uncle_SmidgeAnnabeth is described as “almost exactly what I thought a stereotypical California girl would look like”. I believe the original intent was for Annabeth to be a white blonde girl with intimidating grey eyes.
Not to say Leah Sava Jeffries isn’t doing a good job as Annabeth because she is but she doesn’t fit how Percy describes Annabeth’s looks.
May as well complain about percy not being a brunette with sea green eyes
First… of all, yuck. Hope they don’t renew it for a second season. Disney ruins everything, and I no longer like Rick Riordan. The casting has made me realize that a cartoon would’ve been better, because the humor would work MUCH better, not to mention the fact that they’d have no reason to not make the characters look the way they’re supposed to. It’s FUCKING BULLSHIT.
They changed SO MUCH from the book
@@ellesce I hated it. I don’t care. Rick Riordan is a sell out. This isn’t Percy Jackson and the Olympians, it’s JASON GRACE and the Olympians, either his love interest Hazel Levesque.
I hope it doesn’t get renewed and we get a cartoon reboot instead. Unlikely, but I’d rather have that chance than this GARBAGE getting a second season.
This series was close to perfection. Honestly who gives a fuck about hair color and skin color? SERIOUSLY GROW UP!!!
@@BenE8844 They can still fuck it up in animation
@@TeamCap623 HOW about you leave us alone.
It's series is not so good 😢
Pull the plug, it’s the crappier than the movies.
@@enderethan144 Yuck, JK Rowling did something similar, remember? Also? They’re remaking the HP series on HBO. Ugh, I don’t even read or watch the adaptations, but I can tell that it’s unnecessary. 🤦♂️
Some things wrong i agree. But it is still a much better adaptation than the movies.
Oh, WAAAAAAH.
FUCKING. WAAAAAAH.
Cope. They're his characters and he can update them all he likes.
