It's too late to get this one on the playlist, but if you want a better song with Stevie Nicks joining in on vocals, check out Gold by John Stewart from 1979. Stevie's voice is unmistakable throughout the song.

Stevie and Lindsey produced the album. They also sang on the studio recordings, but not the video recording. Walter had a fling with Stevie for @1 1/2 months. I loved this song so much then, and I still do. This song was my teenage years and my teenage brain when time was a little gentler, more innocent (😉🤭), and surely a lot of fun 😊. Life can sure give you some curveballs that you didn’t see coming. Hopefully you learn from your mistakes so next time you don’t have to repeat it. Here’s to next time around people 😁👍!!!

Just FYI, this song came out around 1979, Stevie and Lindsey joined Fleetwood Mac at the end of 74 and the first FM album with them came out in 75. They released the Buckingham Nicks album around 73, which featured a song Mick Fleetwood heard when they needed to replace their guitarist that was leaving, they only wanted Lindsey but he said he wouldn't join without Stevie and pop history was made. Cheers!

If you'd like to hear this song put to good use in a movie, you should watch "Boogie Nights" from 1999 with Mark Wahlberg. This song and many other great 70's songs are on the "Boogie Nights" soundtrack.

One hit wonder and I never knew Stevie Nicks was on it or that it was about her until I read the comments just now. This came out when I was in high school and it was definitely soft and pop compared to stuff I was into but for some reason it was on the radio constantly and it got under my skin so I went out and bought the 45 RPM single to it. Listening to it again after all these decades it strikes me that it is such a simple but beautifully written song.

I have to warn you, most of this is about Fleetwood Mac, but also about how it intertwines with Walter Egan and the group ...
I can't imagine how you can hear Stevie Nicks in this song. Only because you mentioned it did I decide to look it up and, of course, you are right. However, both Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks are listed in the song credits, but both are from Fleetwood Mac (and do most of the lead vocals in that group). I've seen the "Official Music Video" (ruclips.net/video/2RamSFoo0jw/видео.html ) and they weren't in it. So, it's strange to find this out. So weird. Researching more and I find out that this song was done AFTER the Fleetwood Mac Rumours album.
Actually, the personnel list shows Stevie Nicks, Lindsey Buckingham and Annie McLoone as background singers, but in the video, I believe that only Annie McLoone is shown. Now, this song was released in 1976, which could explain the absense of them in the video, because both Stevie and Lindsey were in Fleetwood Mac at that time, so they probably were just used as studio musicians and singers. Additionally, the personnel listing shows Walter Egan (the lead singer), Lindsey Buckingham and Tom Moncrieff as guitarists on the song, so Lindsey was probably not needed for the video.
Update: I have verified that it was Annie McLoone WAS the girl in the video, and this part is strange ... because I seem to remember always thinking that there was something going on between the 2 of THEM when watching the video (see link above) in this song, but now I find out that Walter had feelings for Stevie and it is SHE that the song was really written for. This fills in another gap in the Stevie/Lindsey breakup story, because most of the songs on the Rumours album were about her cheating/shacking up with others or her arguing her points.
She seemed to be saying in her songs, that he (Lindsey) was the one either, not trying to understand, or using some mystical reasons for the problems between her and "the person in her songs", and he was very straight forward in basically calling her a loose, whorish woman who wanted to be allowed to bounce around from 1 guy to the next and not understanding why that was wrong.
