Glad to see the BBI getting put back together.
    TAKE YOUR TIME!!!!
I restored my 69 427/390hp Vette. Made numerous mistakes during re-assembly. Take your time!!!
Cover the car (tent), do not let birds poop on the new paint.

Next time your checking gaps, use masking tape. Better safe than sorry. And i know you just want to get together. But the right move here is to start make the doors with to the rear quarters. The only solid piece of the car if you know what i mean. And working your way to the front. And the pop up head light's at last ,when you got everything else to flow

I don’t have the words to describe why I love the 512bbi rear end. It’s the most unfussy, sculpted, beautiful rear end in car history. The way the under bumper reveals the lower parts of the engine and how purposeful it looks has never left me since I first saw one in 1980s. Ultimate beauty Scott and you’ve just resurrected one to perfection!! Still a massive fanboy mate!!

Looking great. I have 2 recommendations to help not damage the brand new paint. 1. put painters tape on the edges to add some protection such as around the doors etc. 2. Get a dead blow hammer for adjustments such as moving the headlight forward. They are soft but provide force. Good luck with the project.

I’ve restored daily drivers in a garage of the same size as yours, doing everything top to bottom, and there was a few scrapes and mess-ups along the way, due to a simply undersized working space. I wish you the absolute best without errors, BUT once the drivetrain is finished I’d complete in a larger space as this beast is such a rare absolute beauty it deserves such. All the best!!!

Scott, can’t say how much I love your work and your passion… We have a guy here down under that has had a project of fitting a Ferrari 360 engine into an Alfa 105, (build it by Jeff) years in the making. In his recent post, he had just started the Ferrari engine and the the look of, words are beyond me, were sublime. I think when you get to this point in your rebuild, I imagine you will be as euphoric as Jeff was when he started this beast of an engine in a little Alfa 105 Classic…
Bro, love what you do and I think you and all of the tubers that have a little spending money, respect what you post and where you started from, respect.
Thanks for the vid’s and always look forward to the next

Sort that hardware by size! Shake the bin and the big stuff will raise to the top - pull that out and put it in a new bin - repeat until you have 3-5 bins or more. In the end you’ll have one bin with just the smallest hardware and you won’t be digging through large stuff to find the small stuff. It’s 20mins worth of work that will save you hours and hours over the course of the build.
Good luck and thanks for the awesome window into a BBi!

Best jigsaw puzzle ever! Looks absolutely stunning.
I’m trying to do the same with my E30 I took apart 10 years ago!

Amazing work Scott! It will be worth all the blood sweat and tears when it’s finished.

I'm always browsing exotics and am astonished to see how much vehicles have gone up, especially in the past 20 years. I only found out about this Testarossa predecessor a couple days ago; coincidentally, I've found your video and have been wanting to get insight on this rare model. It never made it formally here in the US, so any examples are very hard to find. I do not desire to purchase this at all -- it is an old car and I love to drive my cars. That said, I can appreciate when someone has a passion for keeping the history of a vehicle relevant. In a world where even a 2003 BMW M5 or 997.2 with low miles are outrageously expensive, a Ferrari 512BBi should be in that mix, but *above* many vehicles that are overpriced today.
I wanted to thank you for taking the time and resources out of your life to pursue such an ambitious endeavour. What an accomplishment and a pleasure to watch.
