I know the manual says to not use oil on the head bolts, so does that mean install them dry? I've always used ARP lube, but I've never ran across a manual saying to install head bolts dry.
Yes installing them dry is fine. Adding arp lube to the face of the bolt not the threads is also ok. You just don’t want any kind of thing on the threads or it will throw off torque which is most important. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!
I use this black gasket maker, called the right stuff. They have their own little caulk gun you can use I was actually using a Milwaukee electric caulk gun. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!
Personally I would. You already have all this work invested that’s the best thing to do in my opinion. I check the heads for warpage or unevenness with a straight edge in many different positions.
