I can see this will be something I'll have to sit down and "properly watch" later
Sharing these imperceptible intracies of the biomechanical connections and the experience to make things work are the joy of coaching a martial art. Marcus's point on the beneficial symbiosis between uke and tori in exchanging energy in training is one point that can be overlooked, rather than being invisible. Externalising the application of energy to minimise risks is can be manifestly the inherent opposite to applying self defence that may prioritise injuring a would-be assailant than having a protracted fair fight. There's lots to digest here.
Absolutely, also the importance of students volunteering to be uke so the can take in verbal and tactile information at the same time

@@ddturnerphd when i think about Invisible aikido i think of “being heavy” or extending ki, like tonight i was discussing “how” to look ( focus the gaze the improve the amplitude of your throws and the attack vectors of your striking etc
That je-ne-sais-quoi spirit is called "Shen" in Taichi. It's the emotional energy that drives the mind, which drives the body.
Shen (spirit) drives Yi (intention). Yi drives Qi (energy). Qi drives Jin (force).
When the Shen is right, it seems everything else falls in line and techniques are naturally successful.
interesting - really appreciate the input - will be researching that idea further thank you @KelGhu and welcome to the channel!
@@KelGhu havnt studied the theory of Taichi although I did study an obscure style from an old guy who didn’t speak English so I got little Taichi lore. Thank you 🙏🏻 for your input
I've heard "hidden' techniques talked about in kung fu a lot, this is a better explanation TBH
@@Clarity2020Australia what is “hidden” will vary with the teacher and the art
great video, have you thought about covering "forgotten" Aikido techniques, like you talked about breifly at camp?
it's on the list Nik!
Im happy to make one about that Nik
Let's compare notes so we don't do the same ones :D
