I just bought RC5 without manual from a friend. I hooked up cables from my Roland Octapad to RC5 .but I can't seem to get the looper to record .Could you help me. Thanks
I am an intermediate player, but a total noob with pedals. Always noodled around on my guitar by myself. I researched a looper pedal for my own enjoyment and this was the one I decided upon. Your video is fantastic. I was having a bit of a problem with trying to figure out the settings for myself and you nailed it here. Excellent support video!
Great video. I appreciated the pace. Overwhelming if someone just took it out of the box, but intuitive if you've played around with it yourself and now have questions that aren't covered in the skimpy instructions that come with the pedal. It's an awesome pedal BTW, way better sound quality than the rc-3, much more diverse rhythm choices, dialable BPM to exactly match any of your favorite songs, completely configurable (love the system and loop programability).
Hey man I seldom leave reviews or comments, but I have to say from the start you kept me glued to your great instructions on how to use this tool. Really appreciate your presentation and approach to show the product. Thankyou
I just ordered one of these since my GX100 only has a minimal looper. Love your detailed videos! It’s obvious you really take the time to learn the gear before making the videos.
Hi, your help is very much appreciated. Is there a way to control the drum track on and off with the footswitch. Right now I have to reach down and use the rhythm on/off button. Hoping I can set things up where I can do that on/off function while standing.
Great video. I’m planning to buy this for my live gigs as a singer songwriter. I’ll be using this as my backing tracks without guitar and vocals (I’ll do that at the spot). Do you think it’s possible to monitor the backing track sound (in ear monitoring), without the need of another pedal?
Hi buddy keep up the great work, I just bought the rc5 but I can't seem to get the red screen I tried everything so could you help me please thanks bro🙏
Thanks, this is helpful. I haven’t found any help with how to actually delete a loop altogether if I’m not satisfied with it. The second loop yes, but the first one just goes on and on. The only solution I’ve found is to unplug the whole device and start over.
Great video, i got my rc5 just recently, i cannot change the beat from 4/4 to other time signatures as it is a feature of the drum section of this looper. Anyone knows why it is so ?
Hi there so newbie here… I have an RC five. It’s fun. So, the RC three has backing tracks at the RC five does not have? C5 has rhythm which is mostly percussion, but that appears to be? Thank you!
But how do you connect it into your amp and does recording distortion make the loop level disappear when you try and play back over it? It only works with clean inputs for me.
Great video, thank you! Maybe someone can help me with this?: How do record just 1 phrase and then stop it without playing it back right away? If I record and then press the pedal (be it short, long, twice,...) it immediately plays back. But I want to just stop it and play back later on. Is this possible?
Got this pedal for Christmas :) Hey Ben, I'm going to be building my pedal collection and eventually a board soon. What cables do you recommend for daisy chaining the pedals together? Thanks man hope you have a happy holidays
If anyone can help me out I’d appreciate it, I’m looking into getting a looper pedal to play the rhythms in my band so I can play the leads, but how will it work in a band setting? How will it work when going from an intro/verse/chorus etc? Especially if the the song starts with a lead. Are there multiple tracks I can pre record and save them and go back to them at practice?
How do u record just one loop - without automatically going into over dub? I saw on the rc1 there is a way to set it to just recording 1 rhythm and avoid over dubbing.
Hey Ben, nice videos you do! Very informative! Im currently running an RC3 with a Beat Buddy. I like the sounds of the drums on the RC5. My question is, can I control the drums from the pedal itself or an external pedal or can you only control the drums from the rhythm button? Any help much appreciated !
hey, i want to use something to record a my rhythm track on, loop that, then play lead guitar over the top in a separate amp. can the RC-5 do this? is it possible to record a loop, then output the loop to amp 1, while I play in a separate amp 2 - I see their are 2 outputs?
I think RC5 is a good loop pedal to start with. Quality, function, price are the best caratheristic. Anyway: is it possible to import a rhythm from a famous song to play along with? How it works the midi in? Is it possible connect for example a microphone or an iPad with a drum pad app? Which are the potentially of midi in/out? Thanks. This is one of best and complete video I have seen about RC5.
I seem to be getting a second of silence before the rhythm I recorded begins to loop. Kinda messes up the flow of being a “continuous loop” with a second of silence.
Thats due to the space between when you "start" the loop and "end" the loop. If you even stop for 1 beat to hit the pedal it will do that. The best way to stop that from happening is to keep playing through your chords. Example: Am C G Am then when you hit that 2nd Am hit the looper at the same time!
I'm older and all I'm looking to do is lay down an entire track, save it, and be able to recall it and play it back through my PA at solo gigs. Can anyone tell me how to do that? Boss RC-5
Plug your pedal right into the computer. It will show all the folders. add your WAV 44.1 32 bit floating file there. (NOT MP3!!!) I use mine like you want to and it works great.
But one thing I don’t like is that I filled all 99 memory slots and I backed all of them up so now I’d Love to be able to take all my favorite loops out of those first 99 and put them back on the rc 5, but I just want a few of them back on my rc 5, The problem that I am having is that i am not able to pull tracks individually with the data for that track, as in there is not one data file per track and all the data (tempo, drum track, levels, settings etc……) for each track are contained in the same file, so I can’t take a loop so basically if I want all those settings back I’d have to put all 99 loops back on the pedal and I have tried just taking the wave files out, and it will cause the pedal to glitch out when you go to record on an empty track because it still has that data file on the pedal witch is telling the pedal that there is a track there but it gets confused because there is no wave file so when you hit record it will get stuck on record, this is kinda very unintuitive and a really ass backwards way to go about being able to back up tracks, this complicated problem has a very simple solution, and it wouldn’t be a problem if each track had its own individual data file in the same or different folder of the track, so idk what to do other than just to back up every 99 loops. Maybe it can be fixed in a firmware update, also they need to add a global drum level setting because 100 is too high for a default level at least for me it is, of course I could change it each time I’m on a different slot but it would be really convenient if we were able to set a default level, I’m hoping for a big firmware update in the future because they still have some bugs to workout.
Damn i bought this pedal cause the music store owner sold it to me saying i can store up to 100 loops on this POS, spent alot of money to be very disappointed thats not what the memory is for, misleeading pedal
Hi Ben, You speak so quickly , that I cant understand what do you try to explain. Will be very nice if you talk a little bit slow...with calm bro. Thanks ;)
It’s VERY cumbersome to use. I’ve never had a Boss pedal that I couldn’t figure out, till now…the oweners manual is USELESS. I returned mine for a refund.

I can’t figure out how to buy rc 5 video course
@@artisentertainmentllc7801 Have you tried turning it off and on again?

Ben Rowlands, thank you for the BOSS RC-5 "Getting Started Guide" video. You helped me better understand how to use my RC-5.
This was great, just got this pedal, thanks for the quick run down!

Great video thank you, so much info I may need to watch 10 more times. Setting up my first loop pedal right now (rc 5).
Ace content! I have learned the basics of my new pedal in 10 min. Keep on

Hey Ben have a good Christmas mate, awesome videos this year!
Same to you! Thank you very much for being apart of the channel, and enjoying the videos! All the Best, Ben
Thank you for sharing all your tips, tricks and knowledge. Very helpful! I look forward to fully harnessing the power of the RC-5! 🐴🔥🎶🇨🇦
Nice overview! 🙏
Great video and very helpful, thanks!
This is a really good demo.
Thank you!
Great video, thank you very much!
I just bought this. Is there a video on how to save the tracks I make into the memory setting? Also how to delete etc etc
Nice video. I have a 1978 P bass same colour as your guitar. Antigua.
Love your stuff guy! Have a merry xmas! Ever though about covering the 505 and vocal looping?
I hope this will be good for country music. I just received my RC-5 this morning.
Great vid, thank you!
Hi. Is there a way of extending the lenght (adding a new section to the tune) inside a recorded loop?
Is there a way to tap the rhythm in after making the loop without changing the loops speed?
Hi, your help is very much appreciated.
Is there a way to control the drum track on and off with the footswitch. Right now I have to reach down and use the rhythm on/off button. Hoping I can set things up where I can do that on/off function while standing.
how to fix the tempo so it does not change when recording please ?
Hi, can you also adjust the volume with the knob like the rc3?
That's what I wanna know . Also mix loop and rhythm

Can I use an external foot switch to write a preset to the rc5

How continously play the loop without pause in the boss rc 5? Thanks
Hi for a beginner with looper, which one is the best according to You? RC-5 or RC-500?? Thanks
How do you operate the volume level of rhythm ?
Is it important to register after you buy one.
Nice glasses
Can this pedal sync with ableton?
But how do you connect it into your amp and does recording distortion make the loop level disappear when you try and play back over it? It only works with clean inputs for me.
Is this pedal analogue dry through?
Hello ✌️ Sorry but were is the link? 07:00
Great channel btw 👍
I just got this pedal. Im not sure how to save loops. Everytime I switch to a different memory it erases whatever memory I’m changing from

How does one individually remove a layer? Suppose I have 4 recorded layers, and I want to remove layer 3 of 4?
Can we sync it in a daw, with the sync in and out feature or just for hardware/other boss product..?
I’m just wondering why my rc5 pedal won’t hold the loop I’ve recorded ?
Can you do a whole song with this looping drums, rhythm, and bass?
Got this pedal for Christmas :)
Hey Ben, I'm going to be building my pedal collection and eventually a board soon. What cables do you recommend for daisy chaining the pedals together?
Thanks man hope you have a happy holidays
how do you clear a loop it keeps just dubbing or playing when i tap or hold or double tap.
My Looper Pauses for some seconds before i play the recorded clips seems like its bpm setting how could i set it ?
I didn't understand if I could stop the loop without stopping the rhythm, I was constantly missing this feature
how much coffee you had mate
got one of those ugly antigua strats hanging in my shop, great to play though
Thanks man, this is super helpful!
3:10 menu
As soon as i turn it on it starts recording, how do I turn it off? I only want to use it when I need it.
Ive just got it but I dont know why it pauses like 1 sec after my rec... So it doesnt really create a loop... Can someone help me please?
How do u record just one loop - without automatically going into over dub? I saw on the rc1 there is a way to set it to just recording 1 rhythm and avoid over dubbing.

It is not cumbersome to use, but it is a challenge to learn. It’s worth it. It’s a great tool.
Can't get my RC-5 to record at all. In the Disp Mode doesn't go into loop mode just to beat mode. It's only 2mths old!!
I think RC5 is a good loop pedal to start with. Quality, function, price are the best caratheristic. Anyway: is it possible to import a rhythm from a famous song to play along with? You skipped why all the different lights are lit for the beginning.

Remember, this is a video for BEGINNERS.
Bought the rc5 . I realised I was spending most of my time fidling with menus. Went back to rc2
And it doesn't auto sense your first loop tempo
Need an rc2 with better drum sounds!!
I'm older and all I'm looking to do is lay down an entire track, save it, and be able to recall it and play it back through my PA at solo gigs. Can anyone tell me how to do that? Boss RC-5

How can I set the Ruthin to play in a individual channel?
I'm not sure that you can. Guitar loop to amp and drums to pa, that's what I want.
When I go to solo over my rhythm you stop hearing the rhythm
Why everyone else said… great vid. I was really bumming after seeing how skimpy the info the included manual was. Shame on Roland, kudos to you.
I know how to change the volume..HOW THE F DO YOU SAVE THE CHANGED VOLUME?..
Your first loop contained guitar and some sort of drum. Why not explain?
Damn i bought this pedal cause the music store owner sold it to me saying i can store up to 100 loops on this POS, spent alot of money to be very disappointed thats not what the memory is for, misleeading pedal
🤪
theese eyes....
I stopped using mine. Way way to complex to use on the fly.
slow down...lmao
No it not straight forward and simple, have a look at all the tech he has there! Of course it’s going to be easy to him.
I think RC5 sucks. It doesn't show up as a USB drive on the computer unless special software is installed. RC3 is a better pedal
you talk very fast. i need to know how to completely delete a track.
D@mn dude, slow WAAAAYYYYY down! lay off the speed before you log on.
C’mon, freaking take in some air and slow down just a bit - it’s like you have way- way too much coffee, man. But, … okay, thsnks for the info.
......speak tooooo fast 😭
PLEASE cut back on the caffeine. You are a great musician, but are insanely hyper and far too fast with your talking. Too loud. To hyper. Too fast.
I'm not a native english speaker and I understood everything with no difficulties...
Hi, can you connect it to the fx loop?
