I have a similar story. I went into the AD just to look. I was looking at a submariner date. I started a conversation with my sales rep. I found out he lives in the next town over from me. I also found out we have similar political views. He gave me his card. I texted him a couple of weeks later and I told him I was interested in the Batgirl. That was on a Wednesday. Three days later I get a call from him asking if I wanted the Batgirl. When I went to pick up my Batgirl, he also brought out the sub. Of course I took the Batgirl. A couple of months later I texted him on a Saturday afternoon about a 36mm Datejust for my wife. The next morning he said to come pick it up. We have become great friends. He even took my wife and me to the 2022 US Open semi finals in the Rolex suite. GREAT time!!! I’m the type of person who talks to everyone. I’m always kind. I believe in treating people the way you want to be treated. In this situation it really paid off for me.

Congratulations! I had a similar story a couple years back with my acquisition of my Pepsi and ever since I shared my story, no one ever believes me. I give the same advice to be genuine with the right intentions on why you are buying a specific model. Once the AD senses that you are basically not a reseller, it’s all yours. Wear your Batman in good health! 🎉

CONGRATS ON your new timepiece. I can honestly cosign what you said and your path to inquiring that watch. I went into Wempe Rolex, on fifth Ave. Shoutout to them. When I walked in All the salespeople were busy and I happen to be looking around when I was greeted by a woman which happens to be the assistant manager. We had our little conversation, explaining what I wanted and it was going to be a gift for my 30th birthday. I was offered an opportunity to purchase the root beer GMT. She took my deposit and after 2-1/2 months I got the call. “ Forever Grateful” OHH MANNN that day I will never forget. Welcome to the GMT CLUB MY FRIEND .

This is all very true. Building the relationship, being honest, upfront and just simply being kind is what works. I have a similar story but obtained a Sub Date w/ Green Bezel aka Starbucks this way. Mine took about 7 months from my initial contact with the AD but only popped in a couple times before my SA called me last week. Congrats on a cool timepiece

Congrats. I picked up my first GMT Master II (albeit the steel and yellow gold version on a Jubilee bracelet) from the AD around the time when you made this video. It was readily available to buy from the AD window here in the UK but I have been registered for the Pepsi too with the same AD having built up a good sales history.

I got my airking a week after I went into Rolex checking it out, it really just comes down to the AD rep/salesperson, the lady really liked me and admitted to me she legit hand picked me out of the bunch

You can get any Rolex at retail as long as you buy other high margin stuff like jewelry or other less desirable watch brands at the same time. You want a steel Daytona, just buy a diamond tennis bracelet for 25.000.

I mean you can, but you don't have to.
Not sure if you have been on top of the market shift in the last 12 months or so, but demand has been down for Rolex as the economy takes a hit. Another factor is that Rolex is actually producing more models. They have changed their tune to how they somewhat used to be prior to 2017. They’re starting to Give decent to good customer service and many of the AD’s are less arrogant and indifferent.
There’s many examples now of people with no purchase history getting the watch that they wanted in several months or less time.
I have several acquaintances that are in the gray market and even they have told me that they are paying much less money for quite a few of the models that used to fetch premium.
Yup I’m familiar. Probably a reason why I got it so fast
@@JZ0LIFESTYLE00 I also forgot to mention, at least in our wonderful state of California and New York, those wonderful homeless citizens and misunderstood violent criminals that are robbing luxury watch owners at gunpoint are also helping the common man to be able to receive his Rolex quicker than usual, putting downward pressure on demand.

There's no secret. Just depends on how much of a impression ya make. I got my sub date with a 7 week wait with zero purchase history in a store that's a power house for rolex sales.

I brought 2 watches at a ad and one of them is dj36 and they won’t even hold it for me over 2 days and 2nd watch wasn’t a Rolex that is more expensive than a gmt batgirl and I’m still waiting for gmt batgirl for over 2 years

If you're talking about buying a Rolex that's not how it works unfortunately lol can't just go in and buy a watch
@@JZ0LIFESTYLE00 Um, I'm not saying there are no wait times, because there are, but you should be able to get any watch within like 2 or 3 order cycles. Exceptions are SS Daytonas and Pepsis. But it's not like magic if you buy a Rolex at the AD. It's terrifyingly normal.
@@joggle4321 That's fair to say but the watch I got is an exception. It's right below a Pepsi in terms of how hard it is to get. I wouldn't make a video if I picked up an airking or a datejust in two months.
I mean, if you say so. I got my Batman in around 3 Months and the YG GRNR in 5 weeks. Friend got his blue SkyD in around a year. I don't really think it's that crazy in 2024 to buy your watch at the AD.
I was with a friend at an AD we have no history with and were offered a WG Sub as a take-away. Times changed.
@@joggle4321 Did you have prior purchase history? My point is that I got a popular SS gmt in two months with no purchase history. I've personally talked to many people about it and they are all shocked when I tell them my situation. I'm not saying it's impossible but it's definitely not common lol

@@JZ0LIFESTYLE00 Exactly! I was looking for the rare Rolex video that doesn't mention it at all. They are extremely hard to find. Even a video about "unboxing a new BLNR" has a mandatory (but irrelevant) nod to the Rolex Pepsi.
@@jamesmoninger1982 Well I went over basically every single stainless steel model based on how hard it is to acquire. Hard to leave out Pepsi no? Lol I mentioned black/white dial Daytona, different dial OPs, datejusts, etc, made sense to bring up sprite, Pepsi, batman
Sorry mate, that does not make any sense. You haven’t done anything different than most of the customers who are in the market to buy a Rolex. These are well known to-do’s and you have not provided anything new here. You just got lucky this time I guess.
Even thought Rolex makes great watches, its customer journey is ridiculous, and this kind of videos promote it.
That's fair to say, I did get really lucky indeed. Getting a GMT in two months with no purchase history is really rare, so I figured I share what I personally did in case it resonates with anyone out there watching.
