Thanks! I have only been recently started playing with a distortion. I read somewhere on the internet that it is supposed to go first in the chain. So that's where I stuck it. :)
That got me thinking.. The virtual pedals in my chain from Line 6 Pod Farm are set up: Compressor Chorus Delay Flanger Reverb at the end before out to mixer And I have been experimenting with the Distortion pedals lately and have been putting them at the front. It sounds good to me like this, but not sure if this is the best configuration. Am I close, or should I swap some of them around, do you think?
Looks good to me! I like to use compressors before drive but its personal prefference, nothing wrong with using them after. The only "out of the norm" thing I see is flanger after delay, that way you are flanging the repeats of the delay which isnt the usual thing to do but again, there's nothing wrong with that and it can sound really cool. Maybe that can be interesting for a future video of this series!
@@InspiringTracks Great, Thank you. Both ways sound cool but different. I play goth and dark psychedelia, and sometimes you just need some Robert Smith flange action going on. Looks like whatever sounds best to you, is the order they go in. :)
@@ParanormalDramaLlama Will give that a shot, thanks. I wouldn't have even considered that. My train of thought was that the flange goes at the end to flange the whole chain before reverb.
Thanks! The first one is a heavily modified and "Gilmourized" SX. If you want you can see it in close detail here ruclips.net/video/S4WhvgF8PaU/видео.html . Cheers!
Pickups are Fender Tex Mex and I really like them. The are a little bit hotter than regular ones but still sound great clean. And they are relatively inexpensive, totally reccomended
thanks!
Glad you liked it!
Very useful thanks.
Glad it was helpful! Cheers!
Cool.
Thanks!!!
I'd assume drive/dirt being placed second would be the more logical place, but it generally sounds better and more 'natural' here being placed first!
Me too! that's how always used pitch pedals and was quite surprised by the results of this tests

i'd put flanger before delay. also, try (flanger and phaser) before dirt; you might prefer it!
