- Welcome to the first episode of PokeNational in 2024. Today, thanks to the help of outside researcher @geekecology, Professor Ginkgo has curated an abundance of information about the fierce bug-type Pokemon Beedrill.

BIG THANKS AND SHOUT OUT TO @geekecology for writing most of the script for this video. If you like PokeNational, you will definitely like GeekEcologie's RUclips Channel and TikTok Page under the same name. PLEASE CHECK THEM OUT!

This was a super fun project to think about and write for, thanks for the inclusion! Love the fuzzy texture and the erratic movements - really helps bring Beedrill alive!
I would love one on Meloetta.
So cool to learn you helped write this!!!
I think y’all sleepin on how tremendously creative this is and or what it is capable of being
Please do all Pokémon. Thank you
Can I request my favorite Pokémon, Oddish? I always thought it was a cute and accessible plant type found in any garden.
I love the idea that Viridian Forest is so much bigger than seen in-game, and the part we visit as Red is the safe path that isn't full of terrifying level 60 Beedrill. The bit about the effect of Beedrill's predation on the forest is lovely, too. Nature often seems violent and cruel but everything in an ecosystem serves a purpose, and in the world of Pokémon those purposes would be well understood.
And all of a sudden, a 10 years old boy with a flying lizard that can breathe fire decided to capture it
Beedrill would be my worst nightmare... I'm already TERRIFIED of bees and wasps and other stingy crap, so I'd be shitting bricks if I saw a wasp the size of a beagle with stingers the size of poison covered swords coming after me.
Pokemon made me feel not alone when I was a kid and still does to this day. This series is honestly a dream come true. Now if someone would fill our national parks and others with hologram projectors, having pokemon run around and interact that'd be just swell...lookin' at you Japan.
Right....I fell exatly same bud
@@Huzee-minior just pokemon go but with main mechanics.
TBH, I actually tried to suggest something similar to the Minnesota Zoo. Given the popularity and the fact that several rarer species of animals became known thanks to Pokémon, I thought it would be fun (maybe as a limited time event of some kind) to do a cross-promotion where several of the animal exhibits there also featured the Pokémon that were based on those specific animals. At the time, however, they said it might not be a good idea as it might bring all the weirdos out.
Then Pokémon GO happened and the "weirdos" came anyway. With the Zoo pointing out all the locations there that were PokéStops and Gyms. "GO" figure.
BTW...FUN FACT (channeling Lockstin): Beedrill is based on the Yellowjacket Wasp, a species known as a "bee imposter" due to the fact it uses its coloration to invade bee hives and take them over.
FUN FACT #2: Not long after Gen 7 and the Alola Region were introduced, the Minnesota Zoo actually welcomed Harp Seals, a seal native to Hawaii and what the Popplio line is based on, to their Aquarium area.
this is kinda sad....we have real animals that are just as amazing as pokemon, no need for holograms. get out there and learn!!!
@@grass_snake80 I agree. To be honest, it does seem kinda odd we didn’t know about certain species of animals before they were used as the basis for Pokémon. Heck, look at how much people love the axolotl! Problem is…most fans only found out about it because of MUDKIP!
Very good job with the Beedrill model. That definitely isn’t something I’d like to meet in a dense forest. ._.
Wdym model? Its real, i found one once when i went outside my house to Shiny Hunt.
@@GoofballerDieddon’t worry they just mean the beedrill that modeled and showed off for this video
Don't worry man, I also have the fear of bees, especially african and japanese bees. And dare I say red ants/army ants, those insects are NASTY to deal with.
I love the model for the Beedrill, with my only nitpick being the forelimb stingers. They look a bit too… perfect? They have an almost metallic look to them, it just looks kind of off.
That out of the way, I love any type of ecology based video on fictional creatures. Yours are always fun and impressive.
It would have been cool to see Weedle in the video as well! I only saw Kakuna and Beedrill. Such a missed opportunity! Weedle deserves some spotlight too! 🐛🐝
Weedle twin needle
This series hasn't lost any charm with the switch from Michaelson to Ginkgo. Well done!
I heavily disagree
I prefer michaelson too
I understand that is it is very large and dangerous, but here me out: It is very large and fluffy therefore, worth trying to pet and hug
I would be horrified if bees were this huge in real life
This series is going to be such a breath of fresh air for Pokémon fans and I wouldn’t be surprised to see this channel build up a substantial following because of it! Not only is it a great idea but it’s also excecuted well. Excited to see the future of this series!
Subtitles non-automatic generated for my students English lessons! They love your channel!
I like the idea that the food web in Viridian forest often mimicks actual forest animal.
So in essence. The keystone species are the pidgeot who sit at the top of the food web for population control, and pokemon like Beedril for being onmivorous pollenators.
So SO glad i stumbled across this channel. You’re doing AMAZING work!!! Thank you for doing this for us!!
this was a treat! Weedle and Beedrill are my favorite pokemon, and it was amazing to see a Beedrill animated like this
Yet another person with more passion than the entire game freak staff.
“The deadliest bug type, beedrill” every fully-evolved bug type from unova:
They really need to buff my boy 😢
I'd love to see you do a cubone/marowak one!
I've always wanted a more educational pokemon series like animal planet, thank you so much for making these and just love the kakunas!
Every video that the PokéNational Geographic made are great to see Pokemon in real life beside from games and anime series. I would like to see more Pokemon like Butterfree, Beautifly, Rapidash, Vulpix (Kanto/Alolan), Ninetales(Kanto/Alolan), Emolga, Pachirisu, Tsareena, Milotic, Serperior, Primarina and Florges.
Your voice fits the narration so well!! Can't wait to see more inadept videos on other pokemon in the future! You're doing so well!!
These look so insane! The amount of detail and dedication in this ❤
These first several episodes have been amazing, and I sincerely hope you continue making them going forward! As for this episode specifically, the stripes on the abdomen at first struck me as the way that some animals seem to have holographic colours that change as you look at them, although usually a type of iridescence that reflects specific ranges of colours or gradients, could also create a similar display of stripes moving across a body. In retrospect, it would seem that it was likely a cheat in animation, but I like the idea that a Beedrill's fur simply creates that illusion.
Oh this was so beautifully done. Thank you for showing off so much of first gen 🥰
Oh my gosh what a collab! This was so good and I loved how fuzzy beedrill is! Excellent work, can't wait to see more!
I love all of you videos! I've been showing them to my mom and she thinks they're really well made
It makes you look at Pokémon differently when you imagine them eating each other and not just eating berries and puffins 😂
Excellent work!!!! You did a great job of capturing how Pokemon are not only cool scary animals, but cute friends!! I absolutely love the fuzz on beedrill.
This is beautiful. I haven’t seen anyone make Pokémon more realistic than you.
Woaaaaahh!!! You nailed their head movements and fuzzyness!! Just like a real bee! Very charming!!!
You didn’t have to make Beedrill fuzzy, but I’m glad you did.
Pokemon makes me not shy to this day.... thanks for pokenational ...
The Pokémon Company will definitely make a deal with you in the next couple of years
I'm glad someone was able to make this series
I attempted to a few years back but couldn't really do it because I was focusing on learning to be blind lol
great job homie! keep it up!
Probably makes modeling in blender pretty hard
@@garfoonga1 ooooo yeah lmao
We need MORE of this please😊 Definitely worth the sub
I love these videos so much I just wish I would have found this channel later on so I could have a bunch of episodes to binge 😂 great job man I could sit here and watch these for hours and wish this was a real show
beedrill is my third favorite pokemon, I'm so glad I was reccomended this
My brain says this is real. The moments are so authentic and natural!
Maybe not a popular take but you may want the feedback anyway: I strongly prefer the realistic and series tone, as opposed to the comedy/parody script. Makes it feel like an actual documentary with focus on Pokémon format rather than yet another nature doc satire that takes away focus on the reason we clicked
And I usually prefer comedy above everything. Just my thoughts
What I like most is that everything makes sense biologically! Taking the insane Pokedex entries and making them into logical ecosystems, well done!
love the channel keep it up mate
This realistic pokemon national geographic show is soooo cool exactly how I imagined it as a child back in the late 90's on the playground ❤❤❤
This is amazing! I love watching these Poke National Geographic videos!
your voice over is really good👌,
so calm
these are so cute! really brings me joy thank you!
Interesting to see the stripes moving along the abdomen as it hovers. I thought they were shadows at first!
Untouched forest? Lemme bring that level 100 Zardy Boi. We are touching every leaf in that forest.
Love the art style
It looks like it could be in a stop motion
Happy new year my friend, really amazing work with the animation
This is fantastic. I would love a video on The Starters Scizor and Garchomp
I'm sharing these everywhere! This is amazing! I hope you make more!
You are doing such an incredible Job ! This is 20 years overdue and I genuinely can't wait for more!
I have come to like beedrill a lot. I had a little problem with how impersonal it feels compared to buterfree, but it is great in its own way.
I would literally die if I saw a Beedrill irl
I love how the Professor here is named after a tree like in the actual series.
It may be quite venomous, but it’s quite fuzzy too! Possibly the cutest Beedrill I have ever seen!
This is a really nice documentary!
Bro, this series has severely impacted my desire for pokemon to be real. I NEED Pokemon in my life
I love this but man I miss the AI voice over.
You're a Arceus damned genius!
I love these videos!
youve just set yourself for life, this is an amazing idea executed exceptionally well my friend. Good luck
I can see a Beedrill being very loyal to a good trainer.
i wish this was more funded. I love the idea of a wildlife channel program pokemon show.😁
People are really underestimating how devastating a fukkin hive of giant bees would be
I'm blown away seriously man props
This was awesome. Cant wait for the Walrein video🎉
My brother in Christ this absolutely makes my day and is the best thing I've watched in a long time. Please keep this up, it hits on many different levels.
This is an amazing concept. 9/10. I have to deduct a point because the narrator mispronounced "Pokémon".
Wow nice this makes me wanna play Pokémon Ultra Sun and Moon and use Mega Beedrill
i thought the whole time it's an official new pokemon series :0 respect champ that was good!!
ahh this was such a treat to watch!
happy 2024!
I'm still loving these. Keep em' coming!!!
Kinda sad that we didn't get to see Weedle, but it's still really cool that this exists.
This is great! Could you do one for Ogerpon next?
Ah, so this is what pokemon look like in Scarlet and Violet’s actual art style.
Basically they are Pokémon’s version of murder hornets 😂
I always love beedril. For me as a Pokémon trainer I use Pokémon that I find cool as opposed to using Pokémon with high stats
This beedrill also reminds me of the show on Netflix Pokémon Concierge
I Really Really love beedrill Thank you to share your wonderful clip. I love it very much.
It looks and feels so realistic. Great start to 2024. I'm looking forward to more content and subscribing to this right now
Great job dude! Keep it up! Maybe do a digimon episode?
I would love to see starter pokemons and their habitats!!!
Beedrill was one of my favorites from Yellow.
It's sad that the weedle line hasn't been featured in a Pokemon game since generation 7
Now I understand why Misty HATES Bug-Types.
This series is a delight and truly something special. Can't wait to see who Professor Gingko covers next!!
Love the series, great work! Can’t wait to see more and more
This is so Entertaining I hope you guys can feature the entire Gen 1 Pokemon
I wish the Pokémon Company would collaborate with you on a full-scale project.
When I saw the model in the live, I knew it was going to be great
This series make me want to play Pokémon again.
Really cool project, glad I found your channel!
Imagine you're going on a lovely nature walk with your family then suddenly get jabbed in the neck by a giant frickin be and for that to be a natural occurrence.
YES! My favorite Bug Type!
Incredible stuff, mate
subscribed! can't wait to see more, congrats on all your work and success ✨
Happy new year.
Cool video.
I'm really loving the new voice
If you catch the first lv3 weedle you find in gen 1, evolve it up to a Beedrill, and keep it leveled with the rest of your team.... I know, it seems like a waste of a spot on your team... By the time you are in celadon you'll have an absolute beast. I played gen 1 when it first came out as a kid and many times since, I always discredited these early game bug lines. On a recent ROM playthrough as an adult I decided to stick with it and was pleasantly surprised. You can ace most trainer battles in the game with Beedrill and nidoking.
These videos are so good, well done, interesting, and entertaining!
I’m actually a fan of the chameleon type eyes and facial structure, as this is probably would it would look like more realistically.
