When I first encountered mimikyu I didn't notice it was just trying to be Pikachu, just that it was adorable. It instantly became my favorite and still is to this day
All of the disguises are so cute and charming! The idea of Mimikyu mimicking other Pokémon has always been something I've liked seeing, and these captured it perfectly!
Personally, I would have made poison type mimikyu garbodor. Garbodor and trubbish are kind of treated like the mascots of the poison type, and it could have a funny backstory something along the lines of “This mimikyu just saw a garbodor, thought it looked cool, and assumed “since it looks so cool, it must be really popular! I should dress up as it!” And nobody had the heart to tell it the truth”.
I like how many of these forms are taken because the Mimikyu was aided by these Pokemon and want to show their gratitude or want to be just like them. It reminds me of little kids who see adults and want to be just like them when they grow up. It can be so endearing. I want to be one of those adults that inspires others someday.
It would also be a cool reference to the fact that Clefairy was going to be the original mascot for Pokemon before GameFreak decided on Pikachu instead
Steel type should be Aegislash, and for a good reason too: One time, a lone Mimikyu is being attacked by a group of ghost types, but then an Aegislash comes to defend the Mimikyu from the ghosts. The Mimikyu is in awe with how swiftly Aegislash attacked with it's sword and block attacks with it's shield. After defeating the attackers, the Aegislash taught the Mimikyu to be stronger, tougher, and more chivalrous to defend it's friends and family. After they part ways, the Mimikyu honor the Aegislash my wearing a disguise that's similar with Aegislash's sword, and often found carrying a small sheet of metal that acts like a shield. This Mimikyu is very chivalrous, respecting it's opponent and fight with refined movements, and the "shield" works both as a weapon and a shield Also I just think hearing a Mimikyu speaking in old English is funny

All these ideas are so adorable. I wish Game Freak would've capitalized on this idea more with Mimikyu. I really want the Dragonite Mimikyu as a plushie. It's absolutely perfect. Dragonite is one of my all-time favorite pokemon and I'm so happy he was used for a Mimimkyu costume. I have some of my own ideas as well. For Flying, I would've gone for Farfetch'd. The backstory here is that these Mimikyu lived in an agricultural area where many pokemon trainers would raise Farfetch'd to help the grow/harvest crops, hunt, forage, and cook. Many of these Mimikyu, who saw these trainers and their Farfetch'd, decided to create a costume in Farfetchd's image not just in hopes of being taken in by a trainer, but also fool other pokemon and help both trainers and pokemon. These Mimikyu are very intelligent. They can hunt, cook, forage, fish, and are somewhat knowledgeable about medicinal herbs and roots. If a wild pokemon is injured or somehow beyond its help, it will search out trainers/nearby travelers to help these distressed pokemon and get them to a nearby pokemon center. For Dark-type I would've used Absol for the costume. These Mimikyu live in more dangerous areas, like natural disaster zones, deserted areas, and endsngered Pokemon habitats. This Mimikyu heard stories about Absol's abilities to predict oncoming danger, and the legends declaring it a sign of ill omens and made a costume in its image as both a tribute and a message. These Mimikyu are aloof in personality but fiercely loyal and protective. Like Absol, they're very perveptive, but lack its precognition. This is one of the more difficult Mimikyu variants to catch because it refises abandon its habitat unless they're certain it'll be protected without it's presence. For Fighting type, I'd have went with Marshadow. These Mimikyu do not want to be caught, so based on legends, and scant descriptions, it made a costume in the image of Marshadow in hopes that it'll never be caught and will be left alone to live in peace... Unfortunately that usually backfires because since they're mimicking Marshadow, trainers slways catch them by mistake. These Mimikyu are especially difficult to train because they have a very passive, almost nonviolent nature. Like Marshadow, they're especially adept in mimicry and are fast learners... but they're passive nature harshly obscures this fact and only a handful of trainers with this variant actually know this. Thus, any competitive trainer who can use a Marshadow Mimikyu in battle are especially intimidating. And finally for Poison I'd choose Trubbish. These would be the most commonplace variants of Mimikyu... in fact people, other pokemon, and even other Trubbish, Garbodor and Mimikyu mistake this variant for the genuine article! This variant lives in densely populated cities, high traffic commuter routes, waterways, and Safari zones. They're most commonly seen cleaning up polluted areas with other pokemon. These Mimikyu are the most social and extroverted variant of all. Highly charismatic and very environmentally conscious. They made their costume out of garbage bags so they can pick up any and all stray trash on the ground or in the water. These variants are extremely protective of their costume, because they don't want the trash they collect to spill. You can often see them organizing other pokemon, especially Poison and Water type pokemon into cleanup crews to keep their habitat clean. Ironically with this variant around, cities usually have less pollution and higher rates of recycling. This pokemon is especially popular among Pokemon rangers because they help keep habitats clean. If raised with other Mimikyu variants, they'll always be closest to the Farfetch'd variant. Make sure to always put recyclables in their proper bin... or they *will* Shadow Sneak you.

I think These costumes are great! But I think the designs should have been more creepy. I enjoy the charm of looking like Pikachu... but also... not... It gives off that eerie vibe that is just barely noticeable, but still can feel threatening at times. Your designs stray away from that, in turn for a more cute or "cuddly" design compared to the others. I do like the idea, but I think it would be interesting to see the creepier side to Mimikyu's design. Your costume ideas were cool tho, loved the idea!

I think Absol would be fun to make! The choices were all based on what data I could find online for what people seemed to like the most, so there are definitely some pokemon in the video that might be thought of as over-seen in a way. But it's fun to imagine what other options there could be 😃

I feel like the Fighting-type suits a Lucario-Mimikyu rather than the Steel-type because Lucario is seen as more of a Fighting-type. For the Steel-type, I think a little Metagross disguise would be absolutely adorable.
My favorite has got to be the fighting one. Not only are they endearing but they might actually see competetive usage in ou(single competitive format) and achieve its dreams. It is most likely a ghost/fighting type(shared by mythical pokemon marshadow) and could possibly learn close combat. Mimikyu also learns swords dance and has the disguise ability as well. There is also a possibility that the different forms of mimikyu will have different stat spreads and I can see the fighting type one being a speedy physical attacker with middling bulk similar to the pokemon it is based on.
interesting thing about mimikyus is (at least the anime version) doesn’t actively decide to take the appearance of a pikachu. the anime one hated pikachus as a species with a passion yet refused to get rid of or accept any other form of covering.
I’ve always struggled to figure out my favorite Pokemon, but after finding mimikyu, i finally have a favorite. I can’t wait to go absolutely wild with mimikyu merch haha

I love all these designs! The only thing I would change is the brightness of the colors. Mimikyu uses anything it could find for its costume, so maybe some less vibrant colors would give your designs that Mimikyu feel. Thats all I would change, though. Otherwise, the designs are perfect!
The only reason umbreoon has any popularity, is because it was the only dark type that can be obtained before the eleate 4, in the Jhoto games. We had no other choice for dark types.
In my opinion an Electric type Mimikyu should look like a Cefairy, since that Pokemon was meant to be the mascot of the franchise before Pikachu's popularity skyrocketed.
I can imagine the blazimime (yes that's what I'm calling it because Blaziken +mime) beating the hell out of a pokemon and a trainer just saying "Awwwwwwwww, that's cute."

interesting thing about mimikyus is (at least the anime version) doesn’t actively decide to take the appearance of a pikachu. the anime one hated pikachus as a species with a passion yet refused to get rid of or accept any other form of covering.

I love all these designs! The only thing I would change is the brightness of the colors. Mimikyu uses anything it could find for its costume, so maybe some less vibrant colors would give your designs that Mimikyu feel. Thats all I would change, though. Otherwise, the designs are perfect!

The only reason umbreoon has any popularity, is because it was the only dark type that can be obtained before the eleate 4, in the Jhoto games. We had no other choice for dark types.

In my opinion an Electric type Mimikyu should look like a Cefairy, since that Pokemon was meant to be the mascot of the franchise before Pikachu's popularity skyrocketed.

Clefairy could also be Mimikyu’s design for a fairy type because Clefairy was originally going to be Pokemon’s mascot before Pikachu!
