This just sounds like someone who can’t afford an SS. In terms of 5th gens I’d much rather have an LS3 rather than trying to stuff performance mods into a base trim engine to make it “as fast” as a stock SS. That just doesn’t make any fucking sense I’m sorry
The early fifth gen Camaros weren’t all that impressive IMO, even in SS trim. However, a bone stock 5G SS still makes around ~380whp or so depending on the transmission option and a 3.6 car regardless of year is making around 270whp. A 100+ HP difference is hard to make up with just bolt ons so it usually requires some form of forced induction, significant weight reduction, etc. to make a V6 car really competitive with an SS.
@@tydaguy3237 stop lying I’ve had both they make less hp and don’t have limited slip so only one tire in the rear actually spins while an ss both tires in the rear spin and your v6 tops out a 116 I rarely go slower then 120 in my ss 🤣 clowns never drove a real man’s car stop trying to justify you can’t afford v8 gas prices
Total BS...either the person in the 5th generation SS didn't know how to drive it properly or the car had some sort of issue. Just admit you'd rather have the SS and couldn't afford the extra money.
the 6th gen v6 is a whole New ball game over the 5th gen V6...6th gens can hit 60 in roughly high 4's, and a 5th gen v6 can only do that with bolt ons and 3.91 gearing...they can hold off old SS's till about 90ish, and they will put at least 2 car lengths on a 5th gen RS..much more of a gap between the 6th gen rs and 5th gen RS than the 370z's vs 350z's...
Transmissions matters too, the 6th gen 8sp auto can shift faster than humans and previous gen 6sp auto, if it had the auto. And what the person said above ^
LGX V6 make 335hp and will get of the line faster due to weight difference and gearing with an automatic, the V8 will pull on the top end since it has more hp and torque. HP only matters if you have the traction to put it down.
@@WindFabreBadLuckGaming101 not all of them, they had 8speed auto until 2018 I think. ZL1 got in 2017, SS 2019 I think and the same for 4cylinder turbo and v6

We do not know what modifications were done to either car,so all I can tell by the video is that the drag race was close.

Nahh v6 6 gen are beast 💪👌
Definitely lol
The 6 gen definitely was a beast!
Feel bad for the v8 owners six shots still keep up you can make 500 horsepower for less money than a SS not to mention insurance if your a younger pup
I got a 2012 SS over a v6 1lt and my insurance only went up 80 dollars full coverage and I’m only 18 depends on your record I guess

Stop playing with that 6 man 🤣🤣

380whp? 270whp? You know cars have drivetrain hp loss right? average is 18%. 400=328whp. 302=247whp

5gen stock ss can be beat by a v6 6 gen specially if you put 275 on the back.

No way in hell a stock V6 camaro can ride with a stock V8 5th gen is 400hp+ vs V6 6 gen 275hp.
