- A fun, low, and slow aerial tour of McCrae Lake Conservation Reserve in a Piper Cub J3, near Georgian Bay CANADA. McCrae Lake is a popular year-round destination for outdoor enthusiasts. It is accessible by portage from the parking area off highway 400 or from Georgian Bay via the McCrae Rapids portage. In winter, there are multiple access points by snowmobile. Winter is the best time to see, on occasion, resident wolves strolling over the frozen lake. If you visit McCrae, please, please, leave it cleaner than you found it, thanks.
-The J3 is the predecessor to the Piper Super Cub.
-Full-length version.
After all these years nobody has managed to build a sweeter airplane than the J3. Beautiful!
Thanks Robert, glad you enjoyed it. Cheers
Video chia sẻ của bạn rất hữu ích cho kiến trúc trí tuệ, cám ơn bạn chúc bạn sức khỏe và hạnh phúc.
Nice to see GLDS again. A friend of mine used to own her.
Nice video and nice music. It is the best emotions when you between air and water . In the history the firstly commertial aviation started from amphibious and float planes. But my self priorities is the amphibious )))
Thank you for your comments, I’m glad you enjoyed the videos. I am a fan of amphibious aircraft too. Cheers.
Great video. Thanks for posting
Glad you liked it, thanks
Picking up the trash aye nice good on ya, awesome flying looks like fun
Thanks for your kind words mate. Cheers, Dundee.
What a beautiful video! Thanks for sharing this with the world, Dan! It’s so well done! I love the song by Candilion…it fits so perfectly. I especially appreciated your message and reminder to be the guardians of our environment. ❤
Hi Lauraine, thanks for your kind words, much appreciated 😊
I love float planes..with some much water around the world...I'm surprised these planes r not way more popular
Lovely.
Thank you
Thanks for sharing, very fun seeing you do the kind of flying I am building a plane for.
Glad you enjoyed it Steve, what are you building?
@@flyingdundee43 Zenith 801, I only have the plane kit now but planning for the #2200 or #2500 floats
Pretty amazing backyard.
I love old planes & motorcycles, but the push button starters on the last two bikes I bought, along with EFI, make this old man happy.
I see you didn't have to hand spin your prop lol!
Yah, nothing like electric start for us old guys.😁
This is a favourite spot of mine too! I'm based not far from there
Nice, do you happen to fly skis in the winter? I want to gather a Gaggle of ski planes for a winter video.
@@flyingdundee43 Unfortunately no, the only undercarriage we have for the Citabria is the straight floats... I've been keeping my eyes peeled for a set of landing gear as it would be nice to fly it year round, but I literally need everything from the gear legs, shocks, wheels, brakes, pedals etc. My AME has a champ he had offered me some time on, but I don't think he has skiies for it either.... I'll ask him tomorrow tho
Hi Danny. Great Video! Flying, video, sound, all great. Obviously a pro! I bought a 1946 J3 on floats last year. As a Professional pilot, there is absolutely nothing better then hopping in “Cubby”! I’m going down in April to Jack Browns to renew my CFI. If your ever in the Duluth area drop in.
Hey, thanks for your comment, I appreciate it. Will do, cheers!
Excellent choice of music!
Kevin from Klamath Falls, OR.
Hey, thanks for your kind comment. The band that sings the song is appropriately called "Slowfly". Cheers.
Great fun. I miss my J-3. But my Cub Special is great fun. Especially on skis.
Which do you like better PA11 or J3? Be honest lol
@@orangecub5496, the -11. Hands down.
Stock horsepower? Totally cool video… thanks for sharing!
Thanks Jason, C90, 90 Hp. Glad you enjoyed it. Dundee
great video i love the piper cubs so much! what's the name to the song in this video?
Hey, glad you enjoyed it, thanks. The song is "Even if the sky is falling" by "Candelion", you can find it on Spotify or Epidemic Sound. Cheers.
@@flyingdundee43 thanks!
Sortudo!
Olá António, obrigado pelo seu simpático comentário. Dundee
The problem with these cubs is they just fly. This entire video shows a pilot trying to land. This plane hate landing so it just soars. .... but he does eventually land.
Your in McRae with a powered engine? Thought it was no power only into that lake. On the water your a boat
Hi, Thanks for your comment. McCrea is a Conservation Reserve rather than a Provincial park. As you may know, unlike a boat engine, an aircraft engine doesn't inject exhaust gasses into the water. You might have an interesting discussion if you spoke to the 100+ snowmobiles that visit McCrea each weekend day in the winter
Interesting to note that I am one of the regulars who pick up the trash left behind by some of those who access it without the help of a piston engine. Dundee:)
@@flyingdundee43 that's good to know! I wouldn't mind popping in there with my wee puddlejumper this year. I'm usually playing around Hamilton harbour and the Grand river but that's getting boring (is close though!) Ventured up to Parry Sound last year and it was beautiful flying.
Stick and rudder man! Even in the model airplane world nothing flies like a cub, and lots of guys that can't fly one. Great video and yeah sad people walk away from their trash, I think karma is all you can hope for.
Hey, thanks for watching and for your kind comment. Cheers, Dundee.
Take nothing but pictures. Leave nothing but footprints.
Nice video, but it would have been better without the music
totally appropriate music... guess you have never left your basement apartment.. inspite of your Mom's insistence
Thanks Ray, I appreciate the positive support. Cheers.
