      @@missionarydiscussions1286 One of the most common arguments aimed against Latter-day Saints that comes from Born Again Evangelist Christians is 'You can't trust your feelings.. And they will quote 'The heart is deceitful above all things' passage' and completely ignore or forget about Luke Chapter 24:32 which talks about how revelation from God is received by the witness of the power of the Holy Ghost through our feelings. And So no man can say that Jesus is the Christ except by the power and witness of the Holy Ghost. Their reasoning not to trust the Holy Ghost makes no sense. But this is really what all these arguments are aimed against. Continuing Revelation from God from prophets yet it says in Joel 3:15-20 that in the last days the Lord will speak from out of zion his voice (modern revelation from prophets in Zion.). In other words there will be continuing revelation coming down from the Lord in the last days from Zion while Born Again Evangelists Christians run around saying A Bible, A Bible, we have a Bible, there can be no more Bible, there is no continuing revelation today because they are too busy looking for just Jesus instead of looking for that Kingdom of Zion that the Lord had promised that the meek and poor and lowly of heart shall put their trust in..

    Excellent point about the Holy Ghost giving positive witnesses, not negative.
    It seems to me one of the big mistakes we can make in dealing with antagonists is to engage them as if they were acting in good faith. When they say "I'm just asking questions" or similar things, they're making a bid for emotional manipulation: asking us to take them at their word - supposedly because that's the charitable thing to do. They're asking us to make ourselves vulnerable, which I don't believe is ever a wise thing to do. In any case, *We do not owe vulnerability to antagonists.*

    This was hard to listen to since he even got Jeremy Runnels testimony wrong. He wrote a letter to the CES department and they never responded. So he posted it on a web sight. These were questions he had from doing research. He was also educated. Also the King Fallet thing he talks about you can read other writings that support the argument in the writings of Brigham Young in the general discourse page 93. Talking about how you can become a god of your own planet or a son of god.

    • @savsmaster4183
      @savsmaster4183 День назад

      Given the nature of the “CES Letter” it is doubtful that the official narrative around the story of it is true, the letter wasn’t mere questions it was a huge gish gallop, likely by the time he “wrote” it he didn’t really believe in the Church’s truth claims and just did so for clout, compiling most criticisms of the Church’s truth claims especially surrounding the Book of Mormon into one volume of text. And although CES hasn’t made a response, numerous individuals and organizations have made comprehensive responses to the CES letter which includes but isn’t limited to FAIR, Jim Bennet(who was a seminary teacher at one point which makes him a part of CES), the person Travis mentioned, The Light and Truth Letter, among others. None of which Jeremy has responded to other than saying that(I’m paraphrasing here) “They’re unofficial therefore they don’t count”. Furthermore the Journal of Discourses isn’t a reliable source, and even so idle speculation by one leader does not constitute doctrine, so “getting your own planet” isn’t doctrine, neither is “infinite regression” both are speculations and theories on matters based upon previously revealed revelation.

      So clearly you as well as the person in this video have not even seen his argument. In his testimony about this he talks about his education as well as the amount of research he did. John dolyn from Mormon Stories even broke it down referencing lds web sights about the questions brought up by Jeremy and they are valid. Your response proves you have not read the ces letters. Also your response about the 2nd prophet of the lds church brigham young as not true is saying a lot about believing anything about the lds prophets. Its like hay a new prophet is here lets change the narrative now . There are colleges named after him but yet the Compilation of his sermons to the early LDS church are meaningless or false wow. I have also seen videos of other prophets saying the same thing as well “ As man now is,God once was as now god is, man may become”. It was also a known statement by Lorenzo Snow. I also remember this on the LDS web sight over 10 years ago. So your argument there actually hinders anything about believing anything from Joseph Smith to the present.

      I'd recommend watching Ward Radios debunking of the origin of the CES Letter before making such a claim. Receipts included. A lot of the items included in the CES Letter weren't even Jeremy's own thoughts to begin with as he outsourced a lot of the information he included in it.

    • @David10000000000ful
      @David10000000000ful 14 часов назад

      Why i have watched interview with Jeremy and John Dolyn. I have read the ces letters and believe they have a point and on top of that Jeremy was educated and this man said he was not. That is a lye. The movie he showed , i read archaeologist talking about it and they said the video showing this is more of a joke because you cant verify any of it and to say for 100% is a joke and it shows how much people want to believe something without actual certainty. I doubt you have even investigated his findings in the ces letters using sources outside of LDS sources. Jeremy used both and i doubt you even knew that.

    • @David10000000000ful
      @David10000000000ful 14 часов назад

      Once again this man lied in this video Jeremy used recourses out side and inside church to gather this information. He was also educated. I doubt you even watched his interview on mormon stories. Also the god part you are telling me we should not care about what the 2nd prophet brigham young preached as well as many other of your prophets like snow. I saw years ago on LDS web sight as man now is, god once was, as now god is, man may be. On their web sight. So what you are saying to me is once a new prophet like Brigham young is gone what they preached is now not true and what ever is said by the new is fact. Also I have spoke. To many Mormons who say this teaching is true. I can even paste a video I found of one. So please it is very much grounded in your faith.
