Hahaha i hope so
Scratch Bashing yes sir! Was gonna make the same comment!

So as a mini builder AND an actual roofer as my job.... that pizza box roof method is amazing!!!! I watch a lot of build videos and have seen a lot of mini roof tutorials, and I think about how roofs are ACTUALLY made a lot and that simple method you did is just the best mini roof on RUclips bar none! Be proud of that one my son!
Thank you! Sometimes making a ruined version of something means you can cut corners, but a ruined roof needs actual trusses and individual shingles to look right from all angles!
Word
"It's because I'm Canadian goddammit I do what I want!"
I love that!
@@EricsHobbyWorkshop I AM CANADIAN!!!
Good piece! Casting the arrow-slits in Milliput seems a strange method to me. If you have one mould, you'd need to do a LOT of waiting for it to cure each time, and packing the mould takes a while too. I'd have thought you could make the slits out of the XPS foam in a tiny fraction of the time.
It was a strange choice. I wanted to try out the blue stuff, and it made the arrow slits more durable too. It also helped break up the monotony of working with foam. But no it was not by any means the most efficient course. Love your videos btw
Oh my god, it's Lindybeige! Hello Lloyd, I love your channel.
Hello Lindybeige!
I knew Lindy would be a fan
Had some doubts about your claimed Canadian status..
Then you said *Zed-shaped*
Dead giveaway hahaha
Your attention to detail is incredible and you're so soothing with your delivery
Thanks Tory, I appreciate that!
As much as I DON'T want to lay a thousand bricks this is clearly one of your best builds. Great job, man!
Hahaha thanks jess. Laying a ton of bricks is not for everybody thats for sure
I am floored. The creativity of materials and execution is 10/10.
Aleks0207 thanks Aleks! There are probably easier ways to build this but i am very happy with the result
your using metric and standard right off the bat my brian is killing me.
Its always a good surprise to see canadian originated youtubers.
Brilliant! I think I might have to steal some of your methods for the roof structure to add to my citadel castle.
I very rarely re-watch terrain tutorial videos, since there are just so many on RUclips, but I love this so freaking much I keep rewatching it!
Seriously, well done brother!
Loved the mini mold for the windows - gotta try that soon
It’s pretty satisfying. Make sure the bottom half of the mould is fully cool or it will fuse together!!
Excellent job on both the tower and the clickbait description, oh Eric the Terrainchad. Stay safe, stay healthy.
Hahahahaha i’m dying laughing at Eric the Terrainchad
ahh that's such a cool build, great work and great channel. bingewatching your stuff while I do chores helps make the jobs go by so fast.
Hey Eric, greetings from Toronto... From an American! Love the video. Everything was just perfectly proportioned. The steps are clear, specific and visually pleasing. Some nice deadpan dry humor so it's not too "stereo instructionsey" and that finished product! Wow I second what everyone raving about the roof is saying, most elegantest roofification I've yet seen.
Its clear you really enjoyed this project and it shows, doing little carpentry is so satisfying, and it really helps to visualize it with your example. I would reaaaaally love to see you do some bric'a'brac and ubiquitous terrain "accents" like stone wells, crates, ladders, walkways and fences, maybe some statuary and or objectives etc.
Anyway Kudos and stay safe
Thanks Eric, this is inspiring. Absolutely great video and tutorial. I'll be saving this one to watch again, it was really enjoyable.
Alright! It makes me happy to think it has rewatch value!!
Very cool. And I appreciate the _mostly_ clean language, so I can watch this with my son.
I love this video! This might be my favourite build-video on youtube (partly because it really tickles my niche for ruined medieval buildings/ mordheim buildings). Geat job!
badass build man, finished product looks beyond great. you make laying the bricks look easy dont know if my walls would be so straight
This would look great for Frostgrave as well. Another reason I keep watching your build videos is that I keep getting ideas for Frostgrave on top of several other games.
Nice work as always Eric. Really like how it turned out. That was pretty slick make molds of the windows. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks man. Molding and casting is very fun and definitely a tool I will use more
Haha I get my own column! Thanks Eric
I think the arched lintel is a nice touch
:D
The built-in one-liners are just as good as the build. Stay safe and keep up the good work.
Simply outstanding work! From the individually cut stones to the half laps in the beams this is just a truly great model. You are right, this type of scratch building takes a lot longer but the results are always worth it. Thanks for sharing this.
Thanks John! I agree going the extra mile is worth it sometimes. I hope to use this tower for many many years
Another epic build mate!...the planning and detail is wonderful.. truly inspirational genius stuff 👍
The dedication to your craft is admirable. 👍
Excellent work! Love sting how you used the molds. Might have to try that out ourselves! Keep healthy and safe!
Do it! Thanks commander, you too!
When your said build from scratch I didn't think you meant one brick at a time 🤯 dang boy....looks awesome!
That would be a really nice little mini-adventure for an RPG group! I could imagine having to spend an afternoon clearing the tower, making it up each level till you got to the top and had to fight something nasty.
Your terrain collection is coming along quite nicely! Well done! :)
Always love your builds! Inspires us for our next race build!
Amazing build! I learned so much by watching this.
Enjoyed the vid, really impressive tabble!
Wow! That ruined tower looks great! Thanks for sharing your take on it.
This is a fantastic tutorial, Eric! I'll be using this when I start some Mordheim terrain later this year. :D
XanderXereus Great! Making a mordheim table is so much fun. Making ruins excuses all kinds of errors in craftsmanship hahaha
Looks really good! Nice work! 🙌🏻
i'm a fan, i learned a lot with each of your videos, and listen to them in the background now when i'm working from home
Your woodwork and overall composition is amazing.
It looks fantastic, as do the matching pieces 😍😍 Also, I very much enjoyed your humour 😄
Thank you! I’m glad you could tell it was humour haha
Inspiring! I just found your channel and subscribed. Gotta watch your other videos now. Thanks for sharing with the community!
OUTSTANDING! The detail is amazing!
Thanks Russell!
That is such a cool build! Kudos!
This is my first video of your's that I watched. Instant subscribe!! Loved it!
just great. very clear tutorial! waiting for the next ones!
btw, I have that mage minifig too!
Nicodemus the Great! One of the best wizard sculpts ever IMO
Wow! Great video. I'm glad I found your channel. I'm going to use these techniques in my next build, thanx
Hello,
Just wanted to say this is an amazing video and helped so much with my own project
Thanks for the tutorial. I am so going to use your guide to build my own but for my 1/12 figures
loved the shingle trick to vary the lengths
Thats an oldschool technique from the pages of white dwarf originally i think!
Wow ... that looks great. I loved all the details on the door.
Thanks Dave! Kind of pointless having a door when there is no wall on the back of your place, but what can you do haha
Really excellent work, Eric! Great job!
Thank you adam! Glad you enjoyed
I've used the same method for shingles on my builds, but that color on yours is top notch
Incubi darkness all day!!
Super build. Well done.
Awesome build; I want to make one just like that!
Yes, you were correct. It is bass wood, not bass wood. I really appreciate your content. The project breakdowns really make this all seem possible for people with limited tooling and experience, and the flow of your videos is great. It is easy for us to see how small, simple details can really enhance a build. I know this is an older video, but I really hope you see this and know even your past content is being watched and appreciated. Thank you.
Found your channel yesterday absolutely love your builds me and my childhood friend group have been playing Warhammer for 20+ years and some of us actually met at a games workshop at our local mall when we were children we are starting up a new mordheim campaign for this winter season we are all from New England close to the Canadian border actually can’t wait to get started on some similar builds you have a Lotta great ideas hope you don’t mind if I steal a bunch 😆
Awesome video, thanks! . And great tip on the podcast - I found Sump City Radio about a week after they dropped episode 1 - it’s really great!
Those guys rock!
"I do what i want"! Lol!!! Love this channel!
As always, great job!!
Great video Eric. I’m glad to hear you are still saying “zed”.
Hahaha always Wendy!!
I've built like 4 of these almost exactly as you show in the video and come back to this video whenever I need motivation
Thats awesome. Can you send me a photo?
@@EricsHobbyWorkshop Hell ya! Ill dig them outta my storeroom.
Awesome job! 👍🏻
Nice results. Good luck in the contest! Wish I had time to build brick by brick. Carved bricks are nice, but building with individual bricks gives a completely different result.
Yeah, the adjoining piece at the end is carved bricks. Both techniques have their uses!
Великолепно! Я с удовольствием смотрю и запоминаю. Спасибо за идею! Прекрасный канал! Буду пробовать так же!!! 💪👍
That is the most do-able approach to shingles I have yet seen, for my time/skill/equipment.
Awesome build!!!
This is the shingle method shown by Nigel Stillman in GW’s How to Make Wargames Terrain . Still as good now as it was then
Awesome build Eric, stay safe my friend 👍
Thanks Zodiac, you too!
You bring some of the best projects to the table Eric. The arrowslits are fantastic, i'm floored that that are actually accurate to historical use! I am in agreement as well about the use of real wood in structural builds, it is satisfying =) Stay safe up in New York, I am looking forward to the next video!
Thanks Justin! I appreciate your comment. I am always trying to show something new and interesting
What a great build, really enjoyed this one. Arrow slits were on point too with the angled recess.
Thanks Ian! I am haply with how the arrow-slits came out too
@@EricsHobbyWorkshop there's a village near where I live in the UK called swanage, it has a medieval ruined castle ' corfe castle ' take a look on Google, it may give you some more ideas etc. Spoiler alert, it's really ruined lol but gorgeous all the same with its thatched scenery around it. Just a thought fella.
I'd recommend either Magic Sculp or Apoxie Sculpt rather than Miliput. They're cheaper (around $25/lb or $5.60/Newton) and they set a bit faster (usually 60-90 minutes ... that would be 3600 - 5400 seconds in metric).
And it's bass like the fish, not bass like a guitar.
Bass like the fish! Sounds good! Thanks for the putty recommendation. I used what I had on hand this time, but I will look into those other ones.
Exceptionally talented! So good.
Thanks Will! Very kind!
overall fantastic build and video!
This is so satisfying to watch.
this is very cool man, and what i love about this is that it looks daunting at first but it is actually quite easy to build....providing you are patient. The brickwork takes the longest, but i bit through it haha. I now have a cool looking tower (with some modifications) i choose to put more holes and not modular as i use it for warcry. It's a nice addition in my ruined city. Thx man, i had fun making this.
Awesome! Can you send me a picture? Email or instagram?
@@EricsHobbyWorkshop sure...i'll send it to you via e-mail after my night shifts...as i dont have instagram. Never been a social media type of person, other then RUclips.
Amazing work
The Easy Targets thank you! Glad you like it
Getting happy Mordheim memories from this!
Always amazing Eric.
It’s awesome!!! Great job!
Thanks Jim!
Great build AGAIN!
Amazing piece!
Thank you for the video. Very well done.
You are most welcome
Holy shit, man. I didn’t realize you’d gotten so professional. When we can travel again, I’m rebooking a trip to NY so we can play on this set up.
Love the mixed units.
I cant help myself haha
You are simply a master builder 👍
Thanks but i still have a long ways to go in terms of improvement!
Eric this came out so good. I've done some brick work, but man it can be tedious! I have to watch Netflix and just zone out while I cut them up haha. Great video, and great final product brother!
amazing work
metric/ imperial whatever works for that dimension - fellow Canuck
🇨🇦
Looks great on that table!
The table gets better with each build!!
Thats a job well done, love it :)
Thank you!
I love Blue Stuff! Soooo handy!
Always looks at your content before I sleep, I have less sleep now and have weirds dream.... I wake up and thinking "what is a glue gun with low temperature" 8))
Really incredibly amazing.
great work!
Im on the same boat here on lockdown. Hopefully I get a lot done too.
"It's because i'm canadian, i'll do what i want" won my like.
That is awesome!
Bruv, that's proper! Damn good!
Thanks baldy
So beautiful, love it!
Thanks Qiwiman!!
Looks amazing, well worth the individual brick laying 😊👍
RIght?? Glad I did it!
@@EricsHobbyWorkshop Only in New York you can get a million different shapes of coffee stick???
I forgot to ask,
Amazing job 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
You build amazing things 👍😏 i like it.
