Hey good people! I have had a lot of interest and questions regarding my townhouses so I wanted to make this easier entry level terrain tutorial! These houses can be used Warhammer Fantasy, Mordheim, Frostgrave or D&D! I really like the end result but please tell me what YOU thought of the video in the comments down below! Stay safe and lots of love to you all! 👍💙💛💙
Alright this video put me over the top. My friends have talked for a while about getting into mordheim, but the biggest hurdle is that none of us have the right level of terrain needed for the game. I've been toying with the idea of being the one in our group to make some mordheim terrain like this but have been dragging my feet. Following your process from your mordheim building videos as well as some of Eric's techniques from Eric's Hobby Workshop (you two have the best mordheim terrain content by miles), I'm now about halfway through making my first ruined little test townhouse in what I hope will be the first building of many. Hopefully I can make enough to crowd a table with enough terrain for a solid game in the future. Thank you for your videos and inspiration. Probably wouldn't have jumped in were it not for this video.
Have just started making my own set of these and wanted to say a HUGE thank you for the tutorial. Putting this out to the community is such an amazing thing to do. Creators like you make this hobby so good to be part of.
I’ve been wanting to play Mordheim on table top again for a while now. Still have the rule book and warband from when I was a kid. Now that I will soon have a work shop space, I am really looking forward to using what I learned watching these videos to build my own board.
Awesome tutorial. You can also really bring a lot of variety by covering the bottom floor walls with bricks to give it a bit more castle building look. Also playing around with cladding the upper walls with wood planks gives it a nice shanty town feel, all while using the same building templates. And one tip for all snow lovers coming from a frostgrave guy: when working with snow, paint the houses "too dark" when it comes to walls and stuff. This will give you more realistic contrast with the snow, simulating a more muted lighting during winter time.
DUDE. Thank you for providing your templates and even the lego windows you use! I'm gonna try my hand at making a whole board in the future, and this is beyond helpful. Great video as well :D
I just followed this video for my first building, really amazing results for such a simple process. Great video that really made it easy to follow. I didn't use the templates as my printer was out of ink, but was able to wing it based off of looking at them. Thank you so much!
Love the grafitti and random gore. Works great for your setting. Of course, all I know about your setting I learned watching your channel, so I'd hope everything fit together well..
Inspired to dig out my frostgrave figures and give them the runaround of my own version of your buildings. Love the idea of tagging... story telling becomes immersive
I've built the first houses following your tutorial and I'm surprised how sturdy they actually are! It was fun, fast and cheap, and it's a great project to get the little ones involved with different tasks. Thanks for this!
Cheers from Canada. I used this video as inspiration to do my own version of buildings. Easy technique and fun to build. Thank you so much for providing the templates they were a big help. Peace
Dude, these are epic. I'm inspired to make my own now. I'm currently playing a Stargrave campaign, but I'm going to try Frostgrave next and I think these will work perfectly. Thanks for the awesome video. Stay golden. Cheers, Bo
LOVE the colors you chose! I tend to stick to the same drab cream on my buildings. But will be expanding to more fun colors on houses/buildings for future builds. I have seen you use the posters before, but would you be willing to do a quick video about how to make them? I really want to make some for my town job boards and I'd appreciate a quick tutorials about how you make them (especially the ones with faces for wanted signs)
Thank you Prof T! I might just do a tutorial on the process! In full earnest, I want to make some posters and share them with people, so we shall see. When time permits then yeah! 👍😅
What a wonderful and quick craft! For people who can't get foam core, just substitute it with Carboard and if you are on a budget you can switch out the texture gel and mix your own from paint/ pva and bicarb/ baking soda
Thank you so much for putting this, and the other tutorials, online with the free designs. I am making these as my first foray into terrain building and thoroughly enjoying it. I have just started playing my first Mordheim campaign so these will be a great addition to the board. Darren at Moonhare Studio.
Fantastic mate, what a great idea to give people templates so they can build their own. Looking forward to getting some printed out and giving them a go myself.
Hello!! Great video as always... May I ask what the music in the 11:04 mark? I plan to listen to it while I start working on my first sets of terrain. Thank you. Yep! I pick this one as one of my first builds... Hope to see more of these videos! 😊
The 1970’s called. They want their Dad joke back. 😂 Those are really awesome buildings! The templates are a great idea, as are the LEGO windows. You put so many cool details in your crafting, with the posters and everything. Be safe and well. ✌️😷
@@DevsDice hello my name is Leif and I would like to paint better. Well, you know the effect when a dark wall is lit by a campfire? I'm going to print the templates out this week and I'll give it a go of trying to follow this tutorial. Great looking buildings Leif! I have made many like these in the past, although not as pretty. A tip is to use regular pins to push through the foamboard while drying. That way you make sure everything dries straight and doesnt warp. Especially when adding a floor to the one below. The LEGO windows is a brilliant idea and came out great. The whole table is looking amazing and really adds the height you need for a proper Mordheim scrap. Great meeting you at Alphaspel today by the way =)
Love these houses! Those lego windows are a great tip. Would you think it's possible to have the 2 halves of a ruined house match up so they could combine to make a whole house?

Good sir.... I may have inadvertently come across a distant relative of yours, while watching a movie. Let me explain.... Recently, while surfing Amazon Prime, here in America, and came across an obscure movie, with Christopher Walken, that I had never heard of before. It is called "Puss In Boots" (not the animated versions), released in 1988, and I thought that I saw you in it. There is an "evil ogre" mage/shape shifter that is "terrorizing" the countryside, the Actor playing the ogre looks a LOT like you do.!.!.! Well, he is in Character, in costume, make up, etc, but underneath all of that, it looked a great deal like an older version of your Distinguished, Good Looking Self, Good Sir.!.!.!.!

Very, very nice, as usual. Seems so simple when you do it ... Would you share your poster templates ? They are superb !
Thank you so much Daniel! I am in the process of making some posters that I can share. My old ones contain a lot of images I got from the internet and I don't feel comfortable with sharing those! 😅👍
@@DevsDice Fair enough, this is perfectly understandable. I look forward to see those new posters ! And by the way, I really like your Swedish sense of humour. 🙂
Greetings from France !
Amazing as always
You're amazing Lawrence! 👍😁
Love this process, it's straightforward and the end result looks magnificent. Glad you're well sir, but that egg joke really made me face palm hard 😂
Yeah that was definitely a "Dad" joke 🤣🤣🤣
Hahahaha! Thanks Karl and sorry for that! What can I say? It's in my nature! 👍🤣
Hahahaha! Yeap! Guilty as charged Lawrence! 👍😂
@@DevsDice never change buddy 😁❤❤❤
glad you are back :)
Thank you kindly WhatWayneSaid! 👍😁
Hahahahaha! I will have to keep an eye out for that film! 👍🤣
