But from the highlights I've seen I notice they do not double team AW. Maybe the league figured out that they just need to let AW get her numbers and shut down everyone else
She definitely gets double and tripled up on in the paint, where she does most of her work.

But you can't leave the aces open often, so there's that.
You kinda have to double up on CC, unless you have a defender like Carrington that can solo her.
@@SaturnFrost I don't say that AW never gets doubled. But she certainly does not do as a best player in the league should. Teams double and triple CC as if she were the goat.
Honestly, I think it IS smart coaching to double CC and to press her full court. 1. Clark's teammates do not come to her aid to free her up with picks or to get the ball from her. 2. The other players seem to LOVE isolation basketball. ISO ball does not win championships. Ask the Dallas Mavericks.
With the Aces, from the little I have been able to see, I would simply let AW stat pad and guard the perimeter. If Aces keep trading 2's for 3's like they did against the Lynx they will continue to lose. I loved the ball movement minnesota demonstrated in their defeat of Las Vegas.

As much of an Iowa fan as I am, I keep worrying that Gustafson and Martin are a big part of the problem. 😬 They’re solid fundamentally, but they’re not aggressive enough offensively and aren’t creating plays.

Kate Martin is the Steve Kerr of the WNBA imo. Yeah, Kerr hit a lot of 3 point shots, but it's easy to hit those when defenses are busy guarding two of the greatest players of all time in Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen, so of course he's going to get a lot of wide open looks.
It's the same case for Kate Martin. Of course, she's going to get a lot of wide open looks for 3's or any shots in general because the defenses aren't focused on her. They're focused on her teammates to pay attention to her.
I think a CC trade to the Aces should be done to save the league. I think if she stays on the Fever team there will be a loss of interest and will hurt the rest of the league. Need to do something to keep the new fans interested and watching. Seeing her team get beat by 20-30 points isn't going to keep the fans. Aces would be much better with her on it.
I would love to see CC go to a good team like Aces but just don't see it happening ...And that's unfortunate. Cause she's in a bad situation... Sides won 5 games last year... maybe 7 or 8 This year....and they probably still Will not fire her...CC will be devastated by the end of the year playing under that COACH....and her Buddy E.Wheeler...of course everyone will be blaming CC.

The Las Vegas Aces might've gotten complacent to where they're not as motivated to win another title as they may claim they are consciously. It's happened to a lot of NBA teams in the past. Heck, Shaq's Lakers were notorious for this too, as they'd always just play well enough to be ranked in the top four teams in the Western Conference only for them to switch it on in the playoffs. The Aces might be feeling the same way at this point. From watching the NBA, teams tend to get that way after winning a title or two, as you're normally not as hungry for the championship as the person who hasn't won it yet. It happens sometimes, and it might be the same story here for this WNBA team. I could be wrong, but that's just a theory.
Either way, I doubt the Aces trade for Caitlin Clark for two reasons. One, the Fever are never going to give up their cash cow. They know how valuable Caitlin Clark is, and they also know if they traded her, then their revenue goes down significantly. And conversely, I doubt the Aces would want Caitlin Clark honestly. I don't know why, but I get sort of a vibe that Aja Wilson doesn't like Caitlin personally, but she won't say it directly for obvious reasons. I could be wrong, but it just a vibe that Aja gives off whenever the topic of Caitlin comes up.

I don't know if anyone could average a 100 assists per game honestly. XD However, I do think she'd likely lead the league in assists, and she'd have way less turnovers considering she'd have teammates who know how to catch the ball.
@@thewolfofwallstreet627 I was joking about the 100. But last I checked she was 3rd in overall assist and top 10 in per game. I do believe your correct about leading the league with a team that can catch her passes. A bunch of those TO are probably because of that.

Chelsea Gray said she'll play before the Olympics. Weak perimeter defense and questionable offensive ball play are hurting this team. I don't think A'ja isn't getting the MVP this year unless they really turn it around. The Dallas game and that first Minnesota game were the best they looked this season. They just need to play at that level. I'm not ready to panic yet because both years under Becky had a rough patch. But if this losing streak gets to 5 in a row or we can't string Ws along, I'll be worried.

Unfortunately, I doubt it happens because I don't think the Fever would be that stupid to just give away Clark like that without expecting a king's ransom in return. Kelsey Plum can't shoot this season. While Aja is dominant, she's not a very good shot creator. They don't have a bench.
Vegas might be able to trade Gustufson, Stokes and either Young or Plum for Clark. Indiana needs bigs and not guards. I truely believe Indiana wanted to build a team around Boston and not Clark. They thought both would work well together. Clark needs a fast break center much like Stuelke and Indiana is finding out both Clark and Boston don't mesh. If that trade could happen, Vegas would have to move their home games to the Thomas and Mack Center that holds 20,000 plus, while the Michelob Arena at Mandalay Bay only holds 12,000. it would be like going back to the 80's and early 90's where UNLV sold over 20,000 tickets a game for their men's basketball games.

The people saying Aja Wilson is stat patting are delusional, just because she’s Putting up great numbers while losing. Her average is 28ppg 11 rb and 2.7 blks while shooting 50%, her teammate Kelsey plum is the main problem yes she’s averaging 18 ppg but on 17 shots a game while shooting 35% from the field, your second best player can’t be playing like that.
It’s not stat patting… the aces just can’t win without her putting up those kind of numbers.

Plus Aja Wilson is able to win like that her scoring like that puts the pressure off her teammates, her teammates just need to hit their shots mainly the second best player kelce plum.
