Strangely enough, I think this sold me on quest 3 more than any of the game functionality has. These sort of use cases are exactly what I’d want an AR/VR set thing for. I can’t wait to watch movies on a giant screen in my tiny ass apartment lol.
The Quest 3's new crystal clear edge-to-edge "pancake lenses" & higher resolution displays make media watching on mixed reality passthrough virtual displays an absolutely GLORIOUS experience! It's definitely not "4K TV clarity" yet, but it's DEFINITELY ">≈1080p TV clarity"! (In fact being able to put an infinite amount of virtual 1080p-esque monitors sized however you want all over your vision is a very good analogy of the Quest 3's general "virtual display" visual experience. Aka it's not absolutely razor sharp like a 4K TV, but it's still MORE than "good enough" for the VAST MAJORITY of things. 🤷)

Yeah, Apple just gave away the whole market to Meta because they were stupid enough to think Meta wouldn't do what they're doing for a reasonable price. That's been Meta's entire business strategy for the past few years, advanced consumer AR/VR is all they do lmfao. Because the price of the vision pro is so stupidly high, I doubt they'll get much developer support either. Most developers will use the Quest 3 because it's cheaper and more people will use it.

Bobovr are releasing a product for quest 3 too! And if you already have the one for quest 2, you can apparently purchase an upgrade kit instead of just buying the whole thing.
If you get a quality 3rd party replacement strap like those from BoboVR & KiwiVR (or countless others) then it's MORE than comfortable enough to wear for a full ≈2-3 hour battery drain without issue! This is bc despite the actual weight staying practically the same as Quest 2 (≈500g), the half as thick form factor gives it VASTLY better weight distribution that makes it FEEL significantly lighter even though it actually isn't. 🤷 (The closer that the headset weight is to your actual face, the less you "feel it".)
Yeah fr there’s different types like I have focusing issues like even while typing this comment I spaced out. I don’t have any hyperactivity like most people assume adhd is. Medication fixes my problem almost perfectly though.

I've been having the Quest 3 for a few days and passthrough doesn't look that good, you almost cannot read phone or screens and if you try to do something like cleaning the dishes, you won't see if they are really clean. In addition, there is a huge warping around objects and it's a little bit uncomfortable to be around with them. It's okay if you are in mixed reality to have your home as the background of the scene, but not to directly interact with anything real. I don't understand why so many people on youtube and social media create content trying to make you thing they are greater than they really are.
I have the psvr2 and i still rather have the psvr2 because I got it for only 400$ and the graphics,lenses with an OLED display and hdr is amazing, I tried both and still sticking to the psvr
These adds always show the background as clear but really it’s pretty grainy. Damn near Impossible to read your phone thru meta quest 3 transparent mode. Wish these adds would show the true quality of transparent mode

You can do piano vision on the first oculus ofc its not as clear and i used one program that had its own environment and piano that you had to sync, glad to see how far this technology has come

You have to cover a depth camera so that it does not distort when you see the mobile
