I have no idea why I remember this. Perhaps because Ace of Base is y favorite band. Voulez-Vous Danser was used in the trailer for the movie Monkey Trouble, starring Thora Birch. It was released in 1994 at the height of their fame.
Love this dance tune. I think it was one of those songs they recorded very early on, back when they were still called Tech Noir and they were more of a Techno/Trance/House band that toured local clubs in Sweden. Several early demos surfaced in which they recorded different versions of the song, sometimes the chorus sounded completely different. All of those versions are pretty good though. As for the vocals, Jenny (Dark haired) and Linn (blonde) share them here. In the early days Linn was the main vocalist but they share vocals on a few songs. Linn has a darker, more soulful and unique voice. Jenny‘s voice is more pop, clear and got stronger as time went by. She became lead singer from the third album onwards.
