But his hand to hand combat training gave hin good luck. He struggled with the elite. But he eas the strongest in the squad. He also had to deploy several times whe. He had to deploy to reduce civil unrest.
It says in new blood that the glassing of his home planet and how afterwards, many grunts and jackals were left on the planet to feed on the dead humans there was what led to him joining the ODSTs. Basically, he was too angry and badass to be traumatized.
Oh no, trust me, he is, he has learned through the years on how to come to terms with it, and he also translated is towards his immense hatred towards the Covenant.
I'm not comparing just a mission to a whole other game, but New Alexandria represents Halo 3 ODST's vibe better than any other of Halo's mission (not counting in the entire ODST campaign to those "represents's ODST vibe halo missions").

In the Halo show theyre making, when they show the ODSTs they should not bring them up at all and at some point in the show have a Marine squad pinned down and call for support then this song starts and it plays a scene of a frigate shooting drop pods and then the ODST scene starts
Literally had this on my first playthrough of Reach when the game came out. I still have my 360, this beast also still works AND it is the special edition, the Halo Reach ONI design edition. And i had this fucking amazing easter egg event on my first playthrough. I'm still getting goosebumps.
Halo 3 odst is my favorite halo game ( as you can see by looking at my pfp) and I’ve played reach as well hundreds of times, and you should have been in my mind when I first assisted buck, it was a face (and shout) of pure amazement

I personally prefer this variant instead of Menagerie version, this sounds more like badass and doesnt jump straight to the violin part until 0:25. The starting sequence with the guitar sounds way more badass

If you stop to think about it, you'll realize that Buck has witnessed the glassing of two planets. I'm amazed how he's not traumatized.
