"We drop feet first into hell, it's not our job to clear it, but to make sure it's crowded when we get there is." Hell jumpers, the tip of the most beautiful spear ever crafted...
I've always loved the ODST a lot more than Spartans. Their armour is so much more Badass and I feel like they're more Human. Spartans are meant for war, they're genetically modified. Where as ODST'S are just human.. which makes their accomplishments and their feats a lot more commendable. (I know somebody with AMAZING lore on Halo will tell that most soldiers were modified in some way during the Human-Covenant War, but well, it's my opinion, it's subjective).
Ryan Platts Me too, I've always been much more of an ODST than spartan, and I would really like to have the odst armour on halo online if not possible to have another odst game!
I like spartans more than ODSTs, but man..... ODSTs are also pretty badass. The way ODSTs fight (as they are the desperate and the last stand) They don't give off hope like the spartans, but they definitely give hell to their enemies. Almost like an avenger. Well, i liked spartans more because of halo reach, but master chief.... eh, ODSTs seem more swag than master chief (no offence)
The only one of the first 5 games that was hard was Halo 2. CE and 3 had their moments and Reach was child's play. 4 was definitely harder than any of them except 2.
Alex Pratt wrong actually it takes place during halo reach 2552 where in the beginning it says reach 2552 and on the back of the halo 3 odst case also says 2552 halo 2 is around 2550 or 2551 get it now?
NMPD HQ is such an underrated mission. The final fight at the end alone just makes the whole thing so amazing. Just shooting down banshees left and right. Taking out brutes as they're dropped off. All while listening to this epic track, just an awesome moment
Halo will always be the best game to ever exist on this planet. Words cannot express my love for halo. I've been with the series since Combat Evolved, and have owned every single Halo game since. DAMN I LOVE YOU HALO
@@TheRocketBee I say an ODST 2 but with another ODST team. I feel like Buck's team story is done and this highlights their careers kinda. It's be better to have a different cast.
The fact that they made three variations of this godly ost is insane like it starts out so subtle but the build up for this get more and more dramatic but at the same time they each separately carry the same exact energy.
I enjoyed ODST quite a lot, it still is one of my favourite halo games. Seeing a halo ODST 2 would make my day... would be amazing on next gen consoles. Also the only thing that disappoints me is that they should allow you in all the halo games to lean up against walls and crouch (properly) behind cover :o)
it gives you an insight on what the war really is like in the cities and not around one spartan... gives you the feel of what a soldier is really like.
Ref the ragin Boss - the story of the 343 halos I don't have a problem with. They've significantly changed the look and feel, one example is the soundtrack; uninspiring and generic. 343 should just get Hans Zimmer. But there are other aspects they've completely changed and considering the Halos were damn near perfect any change is not good.
Because it'd usually be like 20 odst for 1 spartan. And even then usually those odst would stick to running stealth ops if they fought and died humanity would know, they'd acknowledge them as hero's of the war and mourn their loss but for a spartan if a spartan fought and died no one would know. Oni would hide it and all that would remain on the battlefield is the piles of covenant corpses.
Not quite as effective as Spartans due to obvious reasons but they're the next best thing. They earned such a reputation that the Spartans weren't the only ones infamous among the Covenant being called "demons". They called ODST's "imps" which is a essentially saying, a lesser demon. They also wreaked havoc on the Covenant..
4:16 The electric guitar bits literally send chills down my fucking spine. Learn from this era 343 or else Halo won't be able to ruse to it's former glory completely.
The Helldivers community needs to get together and do something like savetf2. It probably won’t get it on Xbox, but it probably will get Sony or Arrowhead to make an official statement as to the possibility.
The members of the militia chuckled. "We didn't like leaving the defense of our homes to unknowns." The cops saluted. "We signed up to protect and serve." "We signed up to make sure that those militia civvies and cops have nothing to do," chuckled the Marines. "What about you?" The Helljumper smiled beneath that black helmet. "The AC stopped working, so I figured, 'Hey, it can't be any hotter in a drop pod!'"

"my mamma can't you see?" "what this corps has done for me" "put me in a barbers chair" "snip, snap and I had no hair" "if I die in a combat zone" "box me up and ship me home" "put me in a set of dress blues" "comb my hair and shine my shoes" "pin my medals upon my chest" "tell my mamma I did my best" "My mamma can't you tell? " "the motto is, feet first into hell" "we are ODST"
The music, and game play had all the right elements, I personally hated it for one reason...Tempting fate too much, and everyone surviving in the GUN HO HOORAH fashion. When I was playing as the silent rookie character, I figured "ok...I somehow survived the bulk of the fighting..mop up crews might be going on...need to reconnect with the tea-...whats this?" and with the somber music, had figured "...My team's dead...is the city over run?...who am I even going to link up to..." I figured playing the game as the other people would lead into this sorry of how you saw them die,....nope! We are the ODST! We cant die! Cause...MARINES! HOORAH!!!".... the fact they all survived so much and still made jokes about it during the game with snide comments, like it was a walk in the park for them. To me that and the lack of realism in the fact only one guy got "life threateningly" injured, without energy shields. THAT being said, I think that's why Reach had the "Who can die in the most noble fashion!?" contest.
***** I speak of how unrealistic it was because, despite the quasi super science and clearly "Impossible" technology, the games still had a sense of seriousness, the Tone of the games, and their humor, were "realistic" to a degree. And again, those were just -my- opinions, I never said they were fact, I never said the game wasnt bad, I jsut said, -I- didnt like the fact that, the game seemed to be leading up to something, and then "We seemingly died, lost contact, but then were Kay".
RikiRaccoon Honestly, after a series of self sacrifice and death surrounding you nonstop, I was refreshed when I got a little comedic break. Not only that, I felt like an action hero when I watched the team, myself included, fly away from the city alive. It was an upbeat twist on an otherwise somber-at-best series, and it's right up there in my favorites with Reach and 3.
RikiRaccoon in theory all the technology is possible: slip space is easily explained using quantum mechanics (i think), the plasma weapons used by the covenant just fire heated plasma (note: the energy sword uses magnetic fields to keep its shape). halo is pretty realistic (considering its 500 years in the future)
"When Marine's don't cut it you send in the ODST. And if the ODST doesn't cut it and in desperate need you send in the Veteran ODST team to get the job done. And if that doesn't cut it you send in the Spartan Corp"
Sir, all information about the Spartan II Program are classified. The Office of Naval Intelligence wants to talk with you about this situation. Please come with us.
I'd argue the Rookie is even more of a chad than Master Chief. He was so badass that 343 had to chicken out and kill him in a novel or else he'll steal Chief's thunder. He slept in as firefights were raging across the city. Navigated through covenant filled streets all on his own. Did some CSI shit to figure out what happened to his squad Soloed his way through an ONI facility swarmed with covenant The reason how the engineer got rescued in the first place Never uttered a single word through all this And he wasn't even a super-soldier in power armor.
The ODST's in this game just looked so cool! Bungie's choice of aesthetics for the armor was the right one, and I'm really sad they didn't delve into it more. It was a good game, just so you know.
The theme plays when Helldivers' armor burns, visors break, limbs broken, looking at the sky and spot Helljumper pods descending on Malevolen Creek. Magnificent son of a bitch, they answered our dying calls.
this game... it gave me that feel of being alone like resi evil i was scared as hell but stocked overrun by covie forces in the night smg at my side and a pistol with very little ammo you had to actually consider who you fought while playing rookie or else it would end bad or good either way this game brought different way how halo could be played this game is considered legendary in my books it brought everything a actual halo game had and made it even more epic.
I tore swaths of Covenant patrols, even taking on bigger groups, figuring every isolated battle group I killed was one less our little brothers gotta take on! Eventually I got from ' oh fuck, oh shit, I'm alone and this is terrible odds' to 'I'LL STACK YOU FUCKS LIKE SANDBAGS!' over that damned night.

Was watching Star Wars: Bad Batch recently. Somehow they reminded me of these ODSTs. You have the sharpshooter, the demolitions expert, the leader, the woman who doesn't seem to fit in, but she does, the funny guy / the brains and last but not least Rookie, the new guy.

Man, I just wanted to say thank you. I've been down for a while now. Partly my fault, partly life playing tricks on me, but anyway ... As I was slowly recovering to the top, this masterpiece hit me back. I remembered vividly listening to it when I was a young boy, and there we are, more than 10 years later and it gave me the last bit of courage, of pride, that I needed. We all fall one day, but feet first, cause we will bounce back. Take care guys ! See you in 10 years !
I’m glad I have beaten this game on legendary and gotten all the achievements, it took a while but it was worth it I just love this game to bits Also playing in the new Mombasa streets I can just feel and emptiness and the sadness while walking around as the rookie I also made it so I didn’t have a hud (I forgot the name of that skull) it really drives the sadness walking through the maze like streets I personally recommend play with the famine skull on and play on heroic , it basically becomes as survival game at that point and it also makes me feel like I’m a ODST as well

Ryon Gaunt Spartans weren't made for war. They were made to fight against terrorists. You're thinking of the Spartan 3's.
Well their armor is indeed more badass than the spartans
WATCH THE LAST PART! THAT WAS CLASSIFIED!
Anybody else remember when halo campaigns were actually a challenge and satisfying to beat?
Chad Young Pepperidge Farm remembers
Chad Young Halo 4.
halo: CE?
The only one of the first 5 games that was hard was Halo 2. CE and 3 had their moments and Reach was child's play. 4 was definitely harder than any of them except 2.
Chad Young Not Halo 2 or Reach that's for sure.
Got the Halo 2 vibe, which fits because it takes place during Halo 2.
Alex Pratt Funny, didn't realize that.
Alex Pratt wrong actually it takes place during halo reach 2552 where in the beginning it says reach 2552 and on the back of the halo 3 odst case also says 2552 halo 2 is around 2550 or 2551 get it now?

I want ODST 2!
AngelRomox97 that would ruin this side game
It would be nice but considering the new art style it wouldn't have the odst feel to it, just remaster the game if you ask me.
@@TheRocketBee I say an ODST 2 but with another ODST team. I feel like Buck's team story is done and this highlights their careers kinda. It's be better to have a different cast.
@@advanced0018 Halo: Bad Blood is basically ODST: 2

The fact that they made three variations of this godly ost is insane like it starts out so subtle but the build up for this get more and more dramatic but at the same time they each separately carry the same exact energy.
Once an ODST, always an ODST.
Some ODSTs turned Spartan 4s, so no.
+Forgeta Buck became a spartan in halo 5
+Tiberiu Marian They are still ODSTs at heart. You can't undo the brotherhood.
+Thadius Faran You can if one of them turns out to be a traitor and kills his "brother", while another one retires.
+Thadius Faran Covering up what? You could argue all the Halo games are an ONI coverup.
Why do people treat this like it's such a bad game?
edit: 8 years later I grew up and realized why lmao, it was a hard sell for Halo fans at the time
I enjoyed ODST quite a lot, it still is one of my favourite halo games. Seeing a halo ODST 2 would make my day... would be amazing on next gen consoles. Also the only thing that disappoints me is that they should allow you in all the halo games to lean up against walls and crouch (properly) behind cover :o)
If you know what I mean, I thought that would be something you would be able to do whilst playing ODST.
It because it wasn't centered around the Chief. Personally I truly loved this game just like Halo Wars.
it gives you an insight on what the war really is like in the cities and not around one spartan... gives you the feel of what a soldier is really like.
UnHolyFurBall Honestly i love this game, brilliant game-play, brilliant soundtrack...brilliant freaking everything!

The level of immersion in this game is on par with Metroid Prime Trilogy imo
***** that sounds like suicide to me.

***** That is Halo 4 you know
When a side Halo game by Bungie was better than a next gen Halo game by 343
Because this game was focused around campaign, they didn't have to worry about a multiplayer like 343. Also Microsoft made 343 rewrite the story
Implying this is a side game
Ref the ragin Boss - the story of the 343 halos I don't have a problem with. They've significantly changed the look and feel, one example is the soundtrack; uninspiring and generic. 343 should just get Hans Zimmer. But there are other aspects they've completely changed and considering the Halos were damn near perfect any change is not good.
Maxie Karn Halo 4 > ODST.
Super Saiyan 4 Son Goku
Wrong. Go away
It always fascinated me how ODSTS could get the job done just as well as Spartans and yet they weren’t as appreciated
not quite as well, but close enough
If/when Helldivers II comes to Xbox, we all need to blast ODST music while playing.
“TROOPERS! WE ARE GREEN - AND VERY, VERY MEAN!”
The Helldivers community needs to get together and do something like savetf2. It probably won’t get it on Xbox, but it probably will get Sony or Arrowhead to make an official statement as to the possibility.
I wish it would go to Xbox, some hell jumpers would greatly improve our odds of winning. But Sony is a greedy bastard, so I doubt it will

"Pucker up, troopers, I sure as hell ain't hosing out your pods!"
Such a great game. Why all the hate, I dont understand it. This track gets me pumped up.
RikiRaccoon impossible technology?
RikiRaccoon in theory all the technology is possible: slip space is easily explained using quantum mechanics (i think), the plasma weapons used by the covenant just fire heated plasma (note: the energy sword uses magnetic fields to keep its shape). halo is pretty realistic (considering its 500 years in the future)

I'd argue the Rookie is even more of a chad than Master Chief. He was so badass that 343 had to chicken out and kill him in a novel or else he'll steal Chief's thunder.
He slept in as firefights were raging across the city.
Navigated through covenant filled streets all on his own.
Did some CSI shit to figure out what happened to his squad
Soloed his way through an ONI facility swarmed with covenant
The reason how the engineer got rescued in the first place
Never uttered a single word through all this
And he wasn't even a super-soldier in power armor.
Good old times, killling brutes and destroying banshees with spartan lasers.
The ODST's in this game just looked so cool! Bungie's choice of aesthetics for the armor was the right one, and I'm really sad they didn't delve into it more. It was a good game, just so you know.
3:58 Percussion is legendary
