Magic Cunt This was one of the best experiences I had during my many playthroughs of this game. I found myself head-banging more times than not to this song as I played and ended up restarting the mission just to listen to it over and over again.
“Bit of a hike to the launch facility...” “Any closer’s too hot to land.” “Copy that, Commander.” “Move up the beach, Noble!” Man, I remember it like it was yesterday...
This not the song you're looking for. Very similar but you want engaged. This is an altered version for the mission where you start on the beach and then fly the saber.
@jasavaeg02 I wish more seraphs were getting shot down in that part of the mission (maybe with the AA guns firing faster). Sure the Covenant is highly advanced and all, but it's mostly the Covenant's numbers that gave humanity such a hard time fighting them outside of orbital naval battles.
@@andyfriederichsenalso today we have guns with much higher fire rates than what the unsc has, so if the Covenant were facing against a10 warthogs would destroy their tank lines.
*”A bit of a hike to the launch facility!”* *”Any-closer would be too hot to land, Move up the beach Noble!”* **proceeds to ruthlessly gun down elites and grunts**
I’d wager that over half of the master recordings are just triggered and managed by flags in the game. It’d be an impossible task to mix them into an album in a reasonable time span- so some had to make the cut and others didn’t. The main themes of each level and cutscenes were already ready for release by Marty and his team, obviously those made it into the official soundtrack.
This song is a perfect example in Reach of adaptive music at work. The way it syncs with the Elite Drop Pods and battle in the sky is stellar, and even on its own it feels intense and increasingly aggressive.
Something a lot of people miss is that you can stay on the beach and the covenant will never stop coming. Halo Reach does such a good job at making everything seem hopeless
There is just something glorious in seeing the Saber facility firing its turrets while there is a huge fight between the UNSC and the Covenant on the beach while this music plays.
I just wish the AA turrets fired faster and did more damage (IT'S A F**KING 20MM ROTARY CANNON), maybe show them taking down more than just one enemy fighter.
I've always liked the turrets firing during this song because it sounds like extra drums and gives it some spice. Would love to hear a version of this song with the turret fire recreated at opportune moments.
One of my favourite gameplay moments in the Halo series - moving up the beach to a classified launch facility under aerial assault from seraphs. It's right up there with the "If you want it done right" dogfight segment in Halo 3 and the NMPD HQ skyline defense in ODST. Kickass.
This scene is so damn cool, moving up the beach with ALL of Noble Team, Elite drop pods slamming into the sand, Spirits dropping off Covies while Seraphs, Banshees, and Wraiths are attacking the launch site, such a cool start to a mission.
Hell yeah. They should do a spinoff with Douglas and have mastercheif go back to a normal life because of how old he’s gotten. It wouldn’t make sense for him to die though
Reach has always had a very different feel from every other Halo game, it’s gritty and realistic in a way, only Halo game that’s somewhat like this is ODST.
Fun Fact: This music was meant to be used for a boat mission where you would storm a beach. Its quite obvious given the name "Dead Ahead" as well, but I digress.
I swear if there were ever an interaction with Noble 6 and Master Chief, which then lead to both Hyper Lethals such as they to kill an entire group of high ranking elites outnumbering them 2 to many, this music would have to play! A man can dream can he?
@@TheHypochrisy Awesome! The source for that is the physical CD for the Reach soundtrack BTW 🙂 I'd also probably specify "Composed by Stan LePard, Martin O'Donnell, and Michael Salvatori" as I imagine Marty and Mike worked on it too. But yeah.

The best part of this sound track is that the low rumble sounds like the anti air craft guns firing from the beach.
