That is a massive amount of biomass that is not otherwise chopped up by boat propellers and spread all over the lake. It is often hauled to a local farm to be composted, or else to the local community compost site where the weeds mix well with grass clippings and leaves to form a great soil conditioner. The vegetation compares to cow manure as far as nutrient content.
