  • Environmentally friendly clearing of Aquatic Weed at Lake Rotoehu, Bay of Plenty, New Zealand. This weed harvesting system, operated by Lakeweed Harvesters & Contractors, effectively removes the aquatic weed that is contaminated by phosphates and nitrates in the waterways. This systematically leaves the water clear and clean, preserving the natural beauty of the environment, even where there may have been extensive weed pollution and contamination beforehand.

    This is very good food for soil, earthworm or even cattle. Goats love it. Just tie some goats near the dump and harvest the weeds at a steady rate.

    It could be hydraulically compressed by squeezing the water out of it. Could go a lot longer before unloading that way?

    The weeds are not contaminated with nitrates and phosphates as stated. Instead, they are growing because of high levels of those nutrients ....usually due to agricultural runoff...

Buona Domenica,
    Luigi.

    i'm kind of surprised that none of these boats (including the ones for hyacinths) have a press/shredder onboard. would increase carrying capacity.
    Maybe the boats are too small for it?

    When I was a kid I grew up on a lake near Detroit Lakes MN and every summer we had a weed machine on the lake it was about 45 ft long and it had a chrysler slant 6 with an I/O out drive to move the boat around and it had a Wisconsin 4 cylinder air cooled engine to run all the hydraulics. Ran on exactly the same principal as this much more modern unit but these new one look like they have about half the capacity of the one I grew up with. Now days it seems that all of them are of the paddle wheel type propulsion.

    • @zancrus9629
      @zancrus9629 3 года назад

      I would think that the paddle wheel doesn't get tangled as much as a prop would/could. I do have to say it was an neat video and amazing how much was removed from the lake.

      Hello Allen ,Weed that is harvested form a geothermal lake has heavy metals in it and has to go through a worm farm procedure to disperse the heavy metals ,and in other lake in can be used as straight fertilizer. Watch feeding to stock as heavy metals are not good for animal feed .
      Cheers Howard

    Toal fabrication about how many meter per truck. the truck is only a 7 meter body. at most he has 10 meters on that..... there is no road going rigid tippers that can carry 30 cubic meters.

    • @Zerububble
      @Zerububble 3 года назад

      Are you referring to the 4WD truck - or the truck and trailer shown later?
      6m x 2.4m bodies (Two of them) only needs 1m deep to make 30 cubic meters.
