As the original owner it’s so cool to see you guys bringing it back! Painful to understand why insurance wrote it off. It’s great to see it being driven.
At Road America this weekend with the PCA and shared the video series with some guy’s who tracked with me. Two thumbs up.
Hoping to reunite you with it sooner than later 😉
Were you rear ended then hit a truck infront of you is that what happened?
@@scraplifegarage can you do mine too? insurance just took the spyder
@@paulwais9219 send me details, lee@leecparts.com
The forklift body shop repair was actually pretty impressive 🤣🤣🤝
If it works it works!
You have to do more often rebuilding, they are so interteining and hilarious😂
We’ll do as many as we have time for!
Hell yea, porche vid!
matching hardware for sure!!
gotta be!
I love the outtakes
So glad I found this channel. Great content. As a car guy I really appreciate all aspects of your business, and the fact you get to have fun building cars from time to time. Love the outtakes at the end too. LOL
I appreciate that and I’m glad you’re enjoying!
The outtakes started because I was REALLY bad on camera… fortunately now I’m only pretty bad and they can serve more of a comedic purpose than me roasting myself at the end of every video!
So happy I ran across this channel. It's just so enjoyable for the cool one off content surrounded awesome co-workers/friends!
It’s a good time most of the time!
Love the rebuilds! Completes this Channel perfectly. And not a single ‘dude’ was said
Thanks dude!
@@LeeC 😂
I raced bicycles for 25 years and owned a few titanium bikes. Both 3.25 and 6.4 are both fascinating alloys with unique traits when properly manipulated.
Yall and Rob Dahm 👌 my favorite youtubers at the moment
not bad company!
Love this series! Car is coming together nicely!
Love me a bunch of your videos too!
There's a little Wood Elf technology in this vid, nice fix 5:38
Just a note-the GPF (gas particulate filters) on the stock over axle pipes are not monitored in North American cars and have no bearing on passing emissions via OBD. If the titanium OAPs that came with the car are still viable, you can throw those right back on 🤙🏼
Great progress! Super stoked to see this thing on the road! Great video keep it up! Really loved the dealership stock montage, tough to get that close for the every man, cool to see the view from the boardroom, thank you for sharing!
You guys did awesome with the wood blocks. Manipulating alloys can be both challenging and satisfying.
If it works it works right!
Nice job on the GT4. Still waiting to see the 997 Turbo on road! Happy Motoring!
you and me both...
Great work and it all lined up with ease , can’t wait to see it all finished and cruising the streets
I'll spoil some of the next video, she drives great!
Yasss been waiting for this one! Don't stop with the porsche content!
You got it!
YEAH! Love these rebuild videos! The opening shot with all the parts around the car was nice. The fact the previous owner showed up in the comments section was nice. Can't wait to see the car on a track. Keep this stuff coming!!!
Glad you're enjoying it! I was thrilled to get in touch with the previous owner also
Don't know why, but this was therapeutic to watch 🤯👏🏻
It was anything but therapeutic to film so I'm glad it came off that way!
Matching Bolts! Nothing drives me more nuts!
Just awesome. Never owning a Porsche, I would jump on this one.
A top notch driving experience at a cheap(er) price!
Awesome video!
Great content! Very interesting repair and details.
Damn this was a great video. I love your new enthusiasm for Porsche! It's contagious. Also I love how everything just kind of came together. This car was meant to live on
It does seem that this one isn't fighting us!
What a beautiful car!!!
Nice rebuild. I’m just some old boy in Louisiana but I’d done it the exact same way. It’s amazing what a block of wood and something to pull on can do
Just found the channel and man i love the content you guys are put out definitely subbed 👍🏽
Ha. That’s my brothers Z28 w/the wheels 😉 @13:41 insane that I stumbled on this, and also very random cause I grew up in the Chicagoland PCA. Have done many many many events at RA late 90’s-‘00’s
@Brandon H, send me a message on IG or email. Austin@leecparts.com. Curious on more info on the car.
Glad to help get you a lot of parts for it.
New to the channel and love the content. Not sure if you have plans to do this, but once you get the 997 Turbo & Cayman GT4 completed, it’d be awesome to do a financial breakdown of everything it costs to repair!
Thanks for watching! I’ll definitely do a breakdown on the GT4. I’m not sure I can stomach seeing the number on the 997 😅
@@scraplifegarage lol I don’t blame ya! Thanks!
Great job.
Awesome stuff
Im still looking for a Viper. If you bought one from copart Id fly out and work for free for 30 days then buy the Viper. Then drive it back to California.
I don't see a 4.5 L Deman Motorsports engine in the pile of parts there. Is that Z/28 actually that color blue or is it wrapped?
At the (presumably) low initial purchase price, a 4.5 is definitely the way to go here 👍🏼
We're out of money for this project LOL
That Z28 is wrapped
@@LeeC No, I have learned iver the years that all RUclipsrs are millionaires with unlimited automotive budgets.
@@LeeC Just like all gun RUclipsrs have a 50 BMG and other extremely rare and extraordinarily expensive guns to own and shoot to shoot cans and paper targets with at 50 yards. (BTW no shade in gun channels I love them and guns too)
@@chesspiece81 who do I contact about collecting my million!?
the out takes are the reason i watch the whole vid tbh
I'm not gonna lie, I'm dying laughing when editing them.
Matching bolts are important. Sometimes you can't help it but I will do everything I can to match hardware, lol
When I retire I want to come become an intern at your shop - the wooden blocks to pull out that damage was pure genius........
There’s a fine line between genius and stupidity, I like to thing I’ve been walking it fairly well!
FYI the valves will automatically close even with the button “on.” It’s not an open/close button, it’s a closed most of the time and and closed all the time button. An aftermarket valve controller is a MUST on 718’s. Pair that with a couple BMC air filters and you’re good to go.
Interesting, I was wondering why it didn't seem like a permanent open!
Crazy I bought some s2000 parts off your eBay store. Cool to see you have a GT4 ( GT4 owner as well)
I look at some of those parts and think, why not hire a fiberglass specialist to make those parts? Better yet, why not learn to make the parts yourself? Just a thought.
It's not even like fiber glass is hard to work with.
RHD 2020 GT4 4000 miles , took a power pole to drivers side, the bonnet is good but everything else crunched up to firewall on that side , remainder of car is good air bags blown , Value to pay at auction?
I want those titanium CAT ;)
lolololol you're keeping the front bottom splitter. can we get a close-up of just that? it scrapes so much on inclines. the rear diffuser too
Lmao love the out takes
You have to love the Porsche Approved Forklift Frame Rack! Porschephiles have left the chat! 😂😆
It is indeed Porsche certified
Very clever
I wonder who's the lucky guy that's going to be owning a totalled Porsche ! Lol
At least you could always put the aftermarket exhaust pipes back on after it gets inspected. It will wake it up more and make it a bit louder.
They were bent pretty good unfortunately
@@scraplifegarage the OE Euro spec over-axle pipes have gas particulate filter in them. But US spec pipes have an inert matrix and don't do anything. Feel free to replace them down the road.
Aren't those headers from Akrapovič?... 🤑
From over here in England, this is exactly how we’d do it too 🤣 great video lads
Sounds like I need to give England a visit! My kind of place…
Welcome any time bro
I just had this wild idea.
Find the guy the used to own the Cayman until it crashed and sell the car to him/her - no discounts - have him/her on your show; in person.
NOW that would be some interesting content...or have him on even if he doesn't buy the car so he/she/it can tell the story of the wreck...or do a video conference call and tape it and play it on your Channel. Just a thought but I think pretty damn good thought.
Love how it is all going together without much of a problem; except for millions of parts.
I have done that same board, hook and pull for pulling out dented body parts but the car was a 1946 Chev panel truck but I didn't have a forklift. I connected the chain somewhat like you did and instead of a forklift the end of the chain went around a tree and put the truck in reverse and went back slowly; I had a spotter back there telling me when to stop pulling. Poor college students have to be creative.
To your question - ALL bolts should match. It shows you care at all levels of assembly.
I would like to know and I bet everyone watching would like to know:
- what did you buy the Cayman for $$$
- what did the parts cost?
- approximately how many hours did you/staff put into taking off, putting on, time searching for and ordering parts?
- TOTAL cost and how much could you sell the Cayman for = PROFIT.
- you may not want to tell us for many reason like, a) when you get around to selling the car one of the buyers might be listening, b) you have others who do this same kind of scrapping and you don't want to give them an advantage they can learn from your business.

I hope you watch the last video in this series. We let the owner drive it on Road America and talk about all the numbers!
Cool 😎
😎😎😎
I think AdamLZ might have another Porsche to rebuild for you...
Are you selling the over-axel pipes by any chance, Any damage? Very interested. Keep up the good work!
they were bent pretty good, check out the first video
More rebuilds please 🙏
As long as we keep finding the cars!
Body hammer and dolly? Hammer out the damage with the pressure on it.
For the record, the person who cut the seatbelt, was me. LOL.
Hack
“When we tried to order this from gm”😂 lol great video!
Old habits die hot! That’s the saying, right?
@@scraplifegarage never heard of that one😂 but right!
You might still need to look into if the driver seatbelt is safe to use still even though it didn’t lock up in the wreck there still is doubt that everything g is ok with it.
It locks as it should, No slop, We’ll see if it has any kind of srs fault when I scan it
I wanted to stop back in and give you props for being right, sure enough when scanned the driver belt resistance is way off.
Good call!
Was that Ricky Boada’s Ford model A????
IF ITS 24 HOURS WONT IT BE JUST AS DARK LOL
QUIT WITH THE MATH!
Where you guys buy the parts for these Sports cars? I wanna do this
The used parts all come from eBay, other sellers that do what we do
Let’s goooo
am barely holding my saliva while watching this
I’m glad you like the short shorts!
💎👏👏👏❤️👌🤌🎯🔋🎰🏎🚀💪🧘♂️🙏
I am surprised you didn't send the belt out to Safetyrestore and have it repaired for a fraction of the price of a used one. Then you have one in stock for your next build.
might be a good option for next time!
How much did he get this Porsche for from the auction lot?
I haven’t heard him mention that…
Where is that safety brigade!?!?!
The Brugrade hasn’t showed up yet…
Those are aftermarket arms from Tarett Engineering.
I believe these particular arms were TPC, though I’m not super educated on who manufactures them/who sells them under their brand etc. etc.
Could you make a street legal Viper go cart? AKA no body panels
absolutely!
If you still have the original front headlights and tail lights I would like to have them would you sell them to me for the cost of shipping?
Titanium? Ill buy those :)
they're bent pretty badly
When it's done.....how much do you want for it?
I have no clue at this point, significantly cheaper than you could get one for clean title of course
I might have missed the first video.. but unless you plan to just track this car i cant believe you would repair a car like using the a forklift. my mind is baffled.
We aim to baffle
😁
Can you do a price break down ?
When the project is done I will definitely do a price breakdown video!
What was the total costs involved in the build????
Check the end of the latest vid on it!
Why wouldn't you just put the forklift handbrake on & use a chain pull? Much more controlled.
Definitely a fair observation, and it would be more controlled but we have this whole forklift think down pretty good!
How much if I want to do the same to my cayman ???
6g for lites damn paid 4200 for 99z28 lol
elle est ⚡️.
How much will this sell for? Approximately
100k give or take

Sadly soon all combustion cars and trucks including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-(
In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025
on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Car washs will be forbidden too because they are climate killers, now they want to slow down all the gas station pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime. (BABVVEN & TEBBVEN & BEFVO laws)!
It's amazing to me how many people don't know how to pronounce Porsche.....Listen up it's a TWO SYLLABLE WORD!!!! POR-SCHE
Man, it all has to match…
This is the correct answer
PorSha
If you add a donate button, I’ll send you $50 if you promise to pronounce Por-Shaa properly from now on. What do you say? Lol
He can’t be bought…
I'm gonna need 5 digits.
