My mother was diagnosed with GBM at the age of 86. Because of her age she and her doctors decided against surgery. She went through radiation which reduced the tumor to being almost undetectable. Unfortunately, she died at 87 but GBM wasn't the cause of death. She simply lived a good, long life. If she had been diagnosed as a young person she would have been a long term survivor. Her doctors agreed.

Apologies for the late reply, but I hope all is well! Try to take the positive from something horrible like cancer. I look at it as revealing how we truly don't know what's next, and we should enjoy life to the fullest for what time we have! Be with the ones you love, the ones you always said you'd schedule time for. Watch the movies everyone always told you to watch, but you told yourself you would one day. Sit out on the backyard porch, watching the sunset as you listen to your favorite band.
Life is odd. My moms doc told us to never rule out miracles. She has had her first reoccurrence but shes fighting and keeping positive. Thank you for the good vibes and hope your lo-fi music takes off. Good stuff. 🎉
My Cousins Doctors would never give him a timeframe, and he was told not to Google his diagnosis ( Glioblastoma ) he had a very positive mental attitude all the way , sadly he had a lot of other heath problems which were very significant and impacted significantly on his fight , keep on fighting William lots of love from the U.K. ( great music btw )
@@TheShapeGameGBM Look up David M. Bailey. He was given six months after GBM diagnosis in the mid-1990's. David decided he hated working in the corporate and started doing what he loved. Music. He recorded amazing albums, wrote amazing music, toured, lived a beautiful life with his wife and children for over 14 years. That was the mid-1990's. New treatments are coming down the pike. Nobody should be given a time frame as to life expectancy. And you are so right in saying NOBODY knows how long they have to live. Or what will "get" them. I expect to see you here, happy and healthy for many years. And continue making that music!

a year is an average, some make it five or ten with glioblastoma. still shortened life, but it is what it is.
Some make it even longer! My doctor has had patients that have gone 30+ years without a recurrence!
