- Should you Try The New Outlook? Watch this video to learn whether the New Outlook is for you?!
When I opened my Outlook, I got a toggle switch at the top right corner saying "Try the New Outlook".
Please note: It says "Try the preview". It means it's still under development! It all sound like a simple change, ie with a switch of a toggle switch. But, is it?
However, the new Outlook has its own problems.
Problem no. 1: You'd have to Sign in into all your Email accounts one by one by entering your Email ID, Password and 2 step verification (if you've set up one).
If initially, that is before opening the new Outlook, didn't sign in into all of your accounts, don't worry, you could select the email id again and sign in later.
Summary: The transition to the new Outlook isn't as simple as you'd expect! It certainly looks simpler. It has also got the shortcuts to all the common Microsoft Apps. Plus, a few new features that's not available in the old Outlook.
Problem no. 2: Lots of buttons & tabs (functions) are missing!
Old Outlook tabs Vs New Outlook tabs, you could still under each tab, the Old Outlook has got much more functions than the new Outlook!
Problem no. 3: Ads starting to appear in the "Inbox" as the first email!
Conclusion: At this moment in time, there are more problems with the New Outlook than benefits.
Luckily, switching back to the Old Outlook was still possible.
IMPORTANTLY: I was automatically logged in to all my accounts in my Old Outlook as if I never left it.
Since switching between Old Outlook and New Outlook is still possible, you could try the new Outlook for yourself and if you didn't like it, switch back. However, I am not sure for how long it'll still give the option to switch back to the Old Outlook!
IMPORTANT: At this moment in time, the New Outlook only supports Outlook (Microsoft accounts) and Gmail Accounts. So, if you got other accounts such as Yahoo, iCloud, etc. you'd need to wait! I'll update any new information or changes in the description of this video.

How to do recall in new outlook
I don;t have the toggle button to switch it back to classic Outlook... I really don't like the new Outlook. If you have a video to help with this it will be appreciate it!
pretty much the same case as with windows 11, except that there's no switch to move back to windows 10 unless you do a clean install.

I like that you can customize the look. I don't like that it makes me sign in numerus times a day. also the folders I have created are no longer there. I switched back after a day of trying to use it and looking for fixes online.
I will stay with the Old Outlook not worth the hassle trying the New Outlook. Thanks alot for your youtube video saved me alot of time!!!!!!!!!!!😃

You're most welcome. It's not the difference between the Windows 10 or Windows 11, it's the difference between Paid (Office 365 or Office 2021) vs Free (New Outlook). You could still get the office 365 or office 2021 on Windows 11. I hope this helps with any confusion.

That bottom seems to be gone from the new update?
I couldn’t get it back to the old? The toggle for off is not an available. Help
I simply use Microsoft Mail and Calendar so I can have my Gmail email account linked to it. It was forcing me to switch to the new Outlook. I finally uninstalled it and that stopped. However, every time I open Mail, I still have that "Try the new Outlook" toggle button in the upper right corner. How can I easily remove or disable that?
I had Microsoft Mail Box on Windows 10, however that is changing over permanently to New Outlook. I changed mine over yesterday... not a good move as far as I am concerned. I find New Outlook far more cumbersome and overloaded and not nearly as direct as my old Mail box. It lacks the one synchronised Inbox that Microsoft Mail contained which kept all my accounts e-mails (3) in one place, that I really liked. It has numerous files etc., that I will never use and I dont really know their purpose. And although it has a "customise " category, this to is hardly straightforward. Plus the toggle back to your original Mail Box (even if it actually put back all the original features) will only suspend the inevitable for a short while.......
1. couldnt find quick parts , 2. cant drag drop attachennts from email to folder
Just now my outlook got updated and I miss many of old features, and some of the features that were existing in already new version. Very frustrating, no categorising for emails, no formating the look of the emails, so annoying.

I am enjoying it but I have two major issues which I find annoying. My read email automatically goes unread, even after I have ready, replied and actioned. secondly, not getting desktop notifications at all, they are on on the app and on my pc but when I get a new email, I get nothing Unless i go into the emails.
Thanks for pointing out additional issues 🙏 To me it seems the New Outlook app is still not fully developed. Maybe in the next 6 months it'll be ready! May I know what you like in the New Outlook, is it the looks?
There is an option in settings to not mark an email as read unless you specifically click mark as read
'Resend this message' - couldn't find this option in the New Outlook.
I can't recall an email in the new outlook. I've been looking everywhere for this feature. No luck so far.
I simply switched backed to the "Old outlook" because it feels that the "New Outlook" is not fully developed. So, may I ask why you've switched to the new Outlook - do like its design?
I tried the new Outlook but in my old Outlook I used to have many folders and sub-folders and when I switched to the new one I couldn't find my folders. Is this OK?

how to take backup of new outlook
So far, I have not been able to set up a reminder on an email (I don't mean a calendar reminder, but an email reminder), unless I do it in the "To Do" cloud app. Quite annoying.
I guess you're talking about the limitation of the "New Outlook". Thanks for mentioning it, I'm sure others will find it useful!
@@bhupindertube Yes I am. I am sorry about my lack of clarity. Anyway, I have an update. They've now added a snooze option to the menu when you right click on the email. That's where you set your email reminders. However, it moves the email to a folder I've never seen before, called "Scheduled". I haven't made up my mind if I like that or not, yet. I am leaning more towards no, I don't like it. Seems like another Microsoft fix for problems that weren't problems.

How do I refresh my emails on the New Outlook? I keep seeing videos with send and receive up too. I don’t see that anywhere, please help
I think it is just not possible. It will automatically sync it once and whenever you open it once it will refresh. That's all!!

The thing he is not telling you.... you can't find the features if you don't have a paid subscription! so basically if you are using the free basic, the new version has limited grayed out buttons that don't work for unpaid customers.
so we can't change anything and outlook is going to loose a large group of people using there app, morons!
I'm still using the 'old' Outlook with a yahoo address. And even that is nothing like as good as Outlook 2016 which I had at work until I retired! The 'new' Outlook is terrible, and I just gave up trying to kid myself I'd get used to it.

In the upper right hand corner of the New Outlook start (Home) page there is a "toggle button" which you can click on.... and that should "undo" the procedure....

You mean in the "New Outlook", you can't?
No toggle switch on mine.
This option only comes when you have installed MS Office 2021 version in your pc or laptop.
HOw about helping the people who don't have a paid subscription for outlook, non of the buttons you mentioned here is even an option to move back to old outlook.
Currently on Windows 11 mail. Says this will be replaced in 2024, It deletes all the google mail, contacts and calendars, so wary of doing it. what happens to gmail mail calendars and contacts on my mobile phone? do i have to switch to outlook here too?
Outlook won't delete your Gmail, Contacts & calendars, but it can unlink them. So, you'd need to relink them again to be able to see them both on your computer & phone. Would you please write the exact message you're getting on Windows 11 mail regarding its update in 2024?

the message i get when i follow the link to upgrade from Win 11 mail to Outlook:
This will allow Microsoft apps & services to:
Read, compose, send, and permanently delete all your email from Gmail
See, edit, create, and delete all of your Google Drive files
See, edit, download, and permanently delete your contacts
See, edit, share, and permanently delete all the calendars you can access using Google Calendar
They also say Win 11 mail will close in 2024. I don't want to lose gmail, contacts or calendar from my phone too. i also have data stored on google drive.
This message doesn't mean that it'll delete your Gmail, etc. It means Outlook could be used to read, edit, delete, etc. I know the message sounds scary, but in order for you to be able to use Outlook or even Windows 11 Mail, Outlook would need to have permission to do all that on your behalf.
When Win 11 mail becomes Outlook, it means all your 3rd party mail providers will be unlinked. So, you might have to add them again (link them again) to Outlook. Also, you could always access you Gmail, Google calendar, from a browser.
I suggest you to download Outlook now, and add your Gmail accounts as I've shown in

Then, after Mail is gone, you could simply continue using Outlook!

click on starts & type outlook. There you should see both the old & new version. Select the old version.

I didn't get that far before switching back to the "Old Outlook" 😂
Tried it thought I liked it, less then two weeks later I hated it and went back to the older version. The new Outlook looks and acts like something a preschooler would use. =(

THE WORST OUTLOOK EVER
Outloook 2024 is terrible. There is no unified inbox across multiple accounts. There is no way to search "all mailboxes". What a dumpster fire.
Disabling drag and drop attachments is worse than the holocaust.
