Thank you so much for going into so much detail and depth with everything. I really really appreciate how you explained each and every line and it helped me understand and appreciate Outlook that much more. Again thanks a ton!
Protip... ALWAYS DO OUTLOOK RULES AND FOLDER RE-ARRANGEMENT in the BROWSER VERSION of outlook, that way it syncs across all your outlook installations without having to backup. The backups don't always work when they release new versions of outlook I was burned that way once, never again.... I don't touch rules outside the cloud version of outlook. Kevin you should make a video on this as it is way harder to navigate and find how to do rules in outlook browser login version.
Hi Kevin, Thanks for much useful content in this video 🤝 I personally have faced issues with Rules I've already set. I can improve them with the tips & tricks in this video. Appreciate your efforts 👍🏻
The whole tone and lunch being more urgent than the customer falling into a chocolate river is hilarious. Then there's the constant jabbing at the newsletter guy, the automated question back to the newsletter guy made me lose it. 13:13
Wow, this tutorial was amazing! Thanks for sharing such helpful content. I was wondering if you could help me out to know if it's possible to create a rule to categorize emails that come as attachments (. msg file). Specifically, I receive emails where users attach other emails, and I want to categorize them based on the sender of the attached email (the main sender of the .msg file). Let me provide an example to clarify: Let's say a user sends me an email with an attachment. This attachment is another email that they received from a different person or company. My question is, can I create a rule in my email client to automatically categorize the sender mentioned inside the attached email? Essentially, I want to automate the process of categorizing emails based on the sender information contained within the attached emails. Any insights on how to achieve this would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
Kevin... Can you make specific video for outlook for mac. Windows user switching to mac particularly will find it difficult with outlook as it still miss basic tweeks
Hi Kevin, as always, your videos are extremely helpful and easy to understand for users of all levels. A huge thank you! Rules have always been a huge help in keeping my inbox somewhat clean and I know I could always use some improvement. Regarding the client side vs server(cloud) ones, do the aspects of the rules that can be done in the server still happen, such as moving it to the right folder, or does the rule just not happen until the Outlook client is open? If that is the case would it be useful to create 2 separate rules, one that will always happen and the other only if you have the Outlook client open. Just a thought, thank you again!
Hi Kevin, thank you for the awesome video. When I was watching your video I saw smart reply enabled in your outlook thus can you please make a video on how to enable smart reply on outlook?
I'd like to have you talk about rules in a single outook instance with multiple email accounts (one for work and one personal) and moving messages between accounts
Love your videos as a new watcher. Wonder if any of your subjects contain the setting up of custom ribbons. This not from the professional field but just an avid user of Outlook. Thanks for all your work to teach us.
Hi Kevin, your video is very useful. I have a question on auto fwd of email to another person's email. I had set a rule that if the subject of an incoming mail hit a specific wording, the email will fwd to a designated email. How can I confirm if the rule work and the email had been fwded? I can't find the fwded email in my out box. Where to check the record of fwded email?
Hi Kevin, thanks for the video. I want to set a rule so that emails from a specific person move to a designated folder 1 or 2 weeks AFTER receipt of said email. I've done some searching and can't see where this is possible. Is that the case?
Thanks for the video, I want to know - the mail should get deleted if "2 specific words" are there in the mail body, how to do it ? Suppose in the mail body 1st word is "Hello" & 2nd word is "Bye" - if this condition satisfies then only it will delete the mail otherwise if only one word is there then it will not delete... Please suggets.
How to make a rule received from the Group mailbox and move it to specific folder..i tried a lot but nothing worked. It just apply the rules received from individual email not for group mailbox
Hi Kevin. Great video. Thank you. I have a question for you. Using your example, what if you don't want to receive the newsletter, but you would want to see any responses from the newsletter your company. How would you move (or delete) the original message, but not move any comments? Say that the original rule is sent to distribution and you would want to delete the message, but not delete any of the replies to that message.
Hi Kevin, I have a question regarding the rule. Does this rule work with a shared inbox as well? I have set up a rule for shared inbox, but for some reason, when a new email arrives, it doesn't automatically move to the particular folder that I selected for the rule. Can you please able to help me with it?
hi Kevin, can you add a tutorial on how to tips for delegates on how to better organized meeting notifications, calendar invites, etc. moving it to a folder would be great, except not sure how to
Hi Kevin, thanks for your very interesting and helpful videos. I'm a big fan. Is there a possibility to set up a rule depending on my calendar information. If there is an appointment in my calendar, then the rule is active, if there is empty space the rule is deactivated. I couldn't find any solution for this online.
Hi Kevin, thanks for this nice video! When I added rules to move messages to specific folders, I don't see the envelop icon on my Outlook taskbar anymore. Did this ever happen to you?
Hi Kevin! I want to remove the rules and want to delete folders but at same time I need all emails in inbox. I tried removing the rule even though those folders are theirs and emails were not in inbox.
Is there a way to create a rule to move incoming task to a designated folder? I can only create rules for mail, but I am struggling to make one for incoming task. Can anyone help?
Will the rules be copied to the app version of Outlook? On my iPad I don’t see the rules option in the app version of Outlook. Could I just set things up in the desktop version and have it copied to all my portable devices with the Outlook app installed on it?
Kevin could you do some videos on how to use the Microsoft programs on an Ipad using The Office App, since the individual apps do not show the menu bars like when one is using a Windows computer?
Hi Kevin, my question is about using Outlook. When attaching a contacts business card to an EMAIL I am forwarding, why does Microsoft not have a search option? When you have lots of contacts it's really hard to find the business card. I have to manually scroll thru 100s of contacts. Is there an easy way to do this? If I'm unclear let me know and I'll try to be a little more concise with my descriptions. Thank you
One major tip to know about rules in Outlook is this..... MS Office Outlook cloud version is not 100% compatible when dealing with rules. If you deleted all your rules and recreated them and they still do not work then delete them. Close Outlook then open MS Edge and type in Outlook and login via the web browser then setup the rules inside Outlook in the web browser then it will be working 100%.
Thanks Kevin. I have an out of office message but it only sends the message the first time somebody contacts me when I'm away. Is there a way to set it up so that the message gets sent out every time? Thank you.
HI Kevin, thanks for all this. I have bene trying to setup a rule in outlook 365 with multiple words in the subject or body rule. However, I have about 100+ words to input and inserting them one by one will take me days to do this over and over again for multiple accounts. Is there a way to have those words all inserted at once?
Hi Kevin Question - Can I create a rule in following way: Email with the subject which contain word "Mother" and word "Home" move to folder : IMPORTANT I try this and I saw that only OR condition is available, there is no AND condition. Thanks in advance
I don't have a "rules" option when I right-click the mouse. I think I must have a different/newer version of outlook. I don't like it because now I have no idea how to create a rule...
Aren't there in outlook such a rule that when you responded to the e-mail and the recipient writes you back again, this mail automatically goes to the same persons category who responded in the first place?
How do I create a rule to move emails that contain either "30-Day" in the sender's address or "Bella" in the subject? I can see how to do BOTH, but not on or the other.
Hi Kevin,I am getting error while setting up rules in online version of outlook 365.Error says : can't setup the rules right now,pls try again later. Can you pls help here
