Intriquing program, and I'm looking forward to the rest. Disappointed that the producers felt they had to have a male narrator. The preference for male narrators is long standing in the industry, and this show, in particular, could have used an "authoritative" female narrator voice to really complete the circle.
Really you take umbrage at a male narrator. Are we not all made in God’s image Are we not equal I have never felt less. I have no hate for men I had three sons and saw how much harder their childhood was to girls who use all their feminine wiles to control fathers and other males in their lives. Now I watch my beautiful boys being destroyed by feminists. I also watch my granddaughters put on the puppy dog look to charm their fathers into giving them all they desire. Making them Princesses is wrong. They will make further male parters suffer. I am ashamed of my gender
Nuns never lose the desire for children, marriage, or sex! To do so would be very unhealthy. It's not normal to not have those urges to some degree and extent. But what nuns do is they learn to re-direct those wonderful life-creating energies into other areas, such as prayer. Or physical exercise. Prayer while working, meditation, silent contemplation... and this is exactly how a regular person can also be chaste even in the midst of totally normal healthy creative urges ~ the ones that God gave to us! To live chaste in this world, or withdrawn into a convent/monastery, this is an invitation from God. Not a command or an order. One can politely decline, no thanks! This is an invitation, a calling, not a thing forced on a woman. And chastity, this is not a forced removal or denial of one's healthy sexual urges, or desire for husband and children. What the World fails to understand is: sacrifice. We live in a Society that demands immediate gratification. But Christ told us that He would return to us 100 times, anything that we sacrifice for him. And so in the next life, in the "New Heavens and New Earth" that will be untouched by decay and death, illness or even anger, any sacrifice in this life given for Him will be reaped 100-fold by each individual. So we are not losing out when we do not engage in this or that in this present life. We are just delaying gratification until the next life.
Why would the Holy Spirit take away something natural and God-given? They learn to redirect those life-giving energies, but they never lose them. That would be impossible unless the person becomes mentally ill.
Michelle Therese May I ask you,are you a sister of the church? From reading your comment I have made this conclusion. Either you are a devoted catholic or you are a sister of the church whose piety knows no bounds. Thank you for your comment because it is very helpful to me and my process of discernment
What is sad is that man can live his or her whole life without ever experiencing true joy that these nuns do almost every day. I know, because I'm also that man.

I think that noone should be forced on a spiritual path. One 's own nature must prevail. I hope that the sisters have understood that the women who came to the convent where like spiritual babies and that they have in fact come to help the nuns develop the attitude off universal motherhood that the whole world desperatly needs in order to be at peace. A religious institution should never remain close to the world, but on the contrary, be always open to embrace the world with unconditional love, like a mother with her children.
As Christians we are all part of the Body of Christ, we have different vocations, a primary one of theirs is to sacrifice their time to pray, of which it's mostly praying for others, Christians and Non-Christian alike. There is still so much poverty in the country, lack of good education, poor control, religious lessons are not recognisable as the sort we experienced, in State schools more focused on any religion . Laughter, tears and emotions were REAL and the transformation was not the goal. The programme was commissioned to investigate Wether or not monastic life and values had any bearing on the lives of modern day women. We weren’t all going to be transformed into saints ! Personally for me, it cost me marriage and I found life a real struggle for 3 years afterwards. I’ve come out on the other side of it, but it’s coming through my challenges that have transformed me. Thank you.
@@deborahhelenphotography1870how great to hear directly from you! I always wondered how you all are doing now and what your lives look like. Do you still keep in touch with the other women?

Wow! I am glad to see that you have done this response and to know what happened a bit in your life afterwards.
I wish they did a follow up with you all like they did for the Monastery series.
Hope you are doing well.
Get out of them my People, don't touch the unclean. Catholic institution is pagan, nowhere in the bible the nunnery idea is mentioned. The ladies are looking for truth, God loves sinners and Jesus brings salvation,. One needs to be born again to get from the kingdom of darkness to the Lord's kingdom. all in the spirit,Bless the truth seekers
There is no 1 way to come to Jesus.
