Awesome! I bee learning how to use the sawing machine so that I can repair my wings. Your video is very inspiring and it is giving the confidence that I will be able to do it next time I rip my wing.
Depending on the tear, sometimes I do. But if it’s a clean line, 1 inch is plenty and the standard of professional repairs. Remember we don’t want to add weight. 1 inch on both sides sewn will never fail ever.
The clear sticky backed tape is best for bladders. The tape for bladders is Tear Aid Type A and if applied clean, it sticks forever and can make a bladder with even a big hole good as new. This is nylon ripstop tape which you can order from kiteboarding.com it comes in white or black usually. There is also a Dacron version that can be used on leading edges, but repairing a leading edge is a much more involved repair.

Glad to hear it! If you rip wings as often as me, you’ll get good at sewing fast. :)

@@wingmanfoilclub beautiful because you can ride again, nice friend!
Howard would be proud.
Hey do you know how to repair the leech line
on a kite?
Stunt kite or traction kite? If you send me a picture maybe I can help you.
Seems like it would be better to leave the tape full width.
