I apologize in advance, that photo is not exactly from that ride, but it was the most beautiful picture that I could find from that train representing Bernina pass in the winter time with lots of snow.
@@RailRelaxation Sorry, but I think we're not talking about the same thing. Avalanche protection looks like nets or some other kind of barrier set up on hillsides. I am referring to small collections of what look like large bombs stuck into the ground with only their wooden fins sticking out. They are not on hillsides where an avalanche might occur, but just some here and there, without any obvious point to them. Maybe they have something to do with snow drift protection, but even then I don't see how. I was unable to find an image of them anywhere on the internet. My guess is that they are someone's artistic display and serve no other purpose.

THe ABe 8/12 is just a gorgeous train, It and it’s car.look like they just came from a show, with nary a scratch on it, but it’s still a working train. That is really the ultimate. The deep gloss on the red dome cars is striking! The ride through the center of town where the folks are totally comfortable with the train, too, is priceless. I know I've seen trains do that in the US too, but they never seem to be entirely at one with them, for whatever reason. And they always derail, too. Yours have none of those issues! Thanks!
If you only knew how enchanted I am to have travelled with you today!!! All of my life I wished to take the time to pass the Bernina in Winter (my life is very, very long...), but never could UNTIL TODAY.. heaven's decor, comfortable ride and a bright sunshine, all of it in snow.Thank you sincerely

I loved this video. The contrast of the changing landscapes is wonderful. I loved the ruggedness of the valley at the beginning of the trip and the wider glacier shaped valley as the journey progressed. This fits these mountains perfectly. Another wonderful video.
