- Using the new fireball tech (otherwise known as stall ball) we can finally obtain monarch wings without claw glitchless. I will also be covering how this strat works and how it was discovered.

Hey everyone! Just wanna make it super clear that it was daanolav who discovered this fireball tech. There has been some confusion around as to who actually discovered it.

I will include some FAQ here in hopes to clear up some stuff
Q: This looks like a glitch, why isn't it banned from NMG? Q: While it's not 100% allowed just yet, it is currently being seen as a minor glitch. This means that all future speedruns will allow this skip as long as this decision doesn't change.
Q: Is it called stall ball officially? A: Not officially but me and lots of other people agree it's the best name for it :D
Q: Why is this skip so important? A: Clawless wings means that lots more things such as Isma's tear, crystal heart and much more are possible clawless. It really opens up a lot in terms of challenge runs!
Q: Does this mean you can beat Hollow Knight with only 2 wallclings? A: Yep!

It’s the very start of the game where you drop
With this amazing discovery, the shade cloak before claw category might finally be able to achieve what previously seemed impossible: escaping the abyss! (For those unfamiliar, it was discovered to be possible to get all the way to the white fragment in the queen’s gardens without claw, but it didn’t matter because once you got shade cloak, escape from the abyss was impossible. Unfortunately, there was a ledge right before the lighthouse that needed a shade skip, so dreamgate had to be used for the shade skip in the following room. The category already goes to lost kin for the essence, so it could get wings. With wings, the first ledge in the abyss could be easily bypassed, and dreamgate could be kept above!

The Ori music at the end hits hard for that moment. Especially if you've played Ori (like me), it hit so hard lol. Loved the way you showcased how insane the skip is for everything with that one little scene.

By the way, the shade skip at 8:10 can also be replaced by a stallball, so I guess you won't need the extra mask and nail upgrade.

Oh my god this is AMAZING! This opens up so many possibilities for clawless runs! Is it possible to leave the Abyss after getting shade cloak in such a run now? Can we enter Deepnest and get Herra? Is it possible to enter Godhome now? That's so many new possibilities!
herrah and monomon are both possible clawless now! clawless godhome is also possible. leaving the abyss after getting shade cloak was already possible with the new csc route

You can fireball pogo into fungal without dash from crossroads and reach claw without dash way easier

I am here to point out that I love the Ori soundtrack and I love to hear it in a Hollow knight video as both of them are games I love with a passion

I was so hype as soon as I heard Ori music, lol. Love the content, I'm glad I subbed after the 3 wallclings vid got recommended to me... and I agree with the top comment, the videos are surprisingly engaging, even without voiceover! can't wait for what this new skip will bring to the speedrunning scene

damn at the end you just use Ori's theme from the first game Ori and the will of the wisps.... love that game!
Could you stall ball on the slope and pogo up before left ancient basin where you usually do basin shade skip. It wouldn’t be too helpful for clawless wings of course but in theory it would make dashless wings a lot easier(?) than what I was doing. I do notice that the bottom left basin wall seems almost doable without dash (the one you air stall up the wall with the shadow creepers) so I wonder about that too.

Oh god- at this rate you’ll beat the game with the only items being 4 mask shards, one nail upgrade, base vs, shade cloak and sharp shadow, claw (two uses), shamans, and the dreamers.
But a TAS skip is needed to finish the 2-wall-jumps playthrough

I think you can actually use the same fireball skip to get up the platform you would normally crystal dash to on the way to Broken Vessel! Unless that is a Mantis Claw only move

most items in the game are locked behind either wings or claw. we we’re always forced to get claw to obtain those but now we can use wings as well

Seems like you have to do a lot of complicated and often time-consuming/unreliable tech involving setting up enemies in the right positions, does getting the claw really take that much time that this is worth it?
