This is a regular march, not at the double! Should be 119bpm as written. I was introduced to this march by one of the finest British Miltary musicians, Lieut. Colonel Samuel Rhodes, M.B.E., Mus. Bac., A.R.C.M. (retd), former Director of Music the Guards Division, Senior Director of Music the Scots Guards.

What a shame the euphonium/saxophone counter melody in the first strain is covered. The next passage is well balanced. Then when they carry the melody the clarinets are much to strong. I guess we should leave it to the Brits and the Aussies to perform the march correctly. After all it is a famous British March. Its been a favorite of mine close to 52 years ago when I performed in my All City band for the first time playing the Euphonium part. Normally I played trombone. So the change and challenge was a real treat.
Holy cow I remember playing this in high school with the marching band. Very fun to play and March to this. Good times
Second strain, second ending; the silence of that rest on count two was absolutely delightful! Kenneth Alford would be most pleased!
Great job. Makes me think of the movie bridge over the river kwai.
