@@CompleteToiletGarage yeah back in November 1990 when I was 4 my brother was 2 and my parents just had my sister in October they needed a bigger family car at the time! My Dad always wanted a minivan (which he later got in July of 93 a 90 Ford Aerostar another story for another time lol), anyways we were then coming from a 85 Renault Alliance which they bought the year they got married that car was new then my Mom liked it cause it was foreign with all the Honda/ Toyota craze even then haha but that car turned out to be the biggest headache ever for a new car for them I was told. Well by the time they just had my sister it was way too small and crammed for all of us so my Dad wanted a bigger midsized car and found the 86 Celebrity used at a Motorcars Toyota dealership ironically! When he bought it was a real nice car and it served us well for most of the 90s even after he got the Aerostar for my Mom and us kids he kept it for his own personal car, until summer of 97 when he donated it and didn't want to put any money in it anymore by then the car was rusting bad as well as the Aerostar too! Yet both cars always being garaged. Long story - it was a grey on grey more basic model with few more options like better radio, AC, tilt, cruise control, Big 2.8V6 not the Iron Duke most came with. And his had the split bench front seat that could seat a total of 6 in the car all together which my baby sisters carseat was at the time between them with me and my brothers car seats in the rear. Was still somewhat crammed car but they made it work till we got the van few years later haha. He said was a good car until fell apart. So yeah not all GM A- Bodies were bad! Plus a family we carpooled with also had a Celebrity but a newer one than ours an 88 I think, newer grill and headlights they also had theirs a long time as well. So bit of a story on that car along with childhood memory of growing up with one.

Something else to think about, these cars being diesel are even more efficient than a Tesla, because of all of the same reasons you already explained.
In so many ways diesel could be considered a renewable resource, with biodiesel and if you wanted to you could run a diesel engine, straight off of used motor oil.
A friend in Indiana, when changing his oil, he takes it straight from the oil pan and dumps it in the fuel tank and the truck doesn't skip a beat.
Lastly a renewable resource some are thinking about is methane, there is a small company here in Canada that has developed a machine to convert methane into a usable fuel for your vehicle, but unfortunately it's lacking government approval and we all know why.
